- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -2/+91Oh and Larry King's social security number is really easy to remember, it's 000-00-0001.
Thank you and goodnight! - sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -6/+85Larry King's so old he left his wallet on Noah's Ark. when he ran the 100 metre dash in college they timed him with a sundial. when he was at school there was No history class. He sat in front of Jesus in 1st grade. He got the first copy of the Ten Commandments...
- supaflystud, on 10/12/2007, -3/+66I bet if he knew how much porn was on it, he'd be game.
- benlundquist, on 10/12/2007, -3/+49lol nice digg. I'll bet his wife is using the internets all right.
- rekrapt, on 10/12/2007, -2/+47Un-F*cking-believable. Out of touch is an understatement.
- tomaszpw, on 10/12/2007, -4/+46Larry King does not use it.
Ted Stevens thinks it's a bunch of PIPES.
And, Ted Turner has no idea what YouTube is.
I wonder if K-Fed fits into this group? - remove, on 10/12/2007, -2/+42Too bad Larry King will never read this digg submission, for obvious reasons.
Best quote "What do you punch little buttons and things?"
On a side note, how is he even qualified to discuss whether or not the internet is a "viable political medium" if he hasn't even been on Google?
Somehow, I think Ted 'series of tubes' Stevens would get along well with King. - suntereo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+31It's easy to see he's stuck in the Stone Age... look at his "Lite-Brite" stage backdrop... he probably thinks "all them colors is pretty high tech!"
- iching, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30That is why he is so insightful, knowledgeable, probing, investigative, technological aware which has prepared him for his deep interviews. (sarcasm)
Larry brags about how he doesn't prepare questions ahead of time for his program and it shows in the dumb, fluff questions that he asks. He said that Cathy Lee Crosby was once ranked 7th in the world in tennis when in reality, she wasn't even in the top 100. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+26a phone call to Larry King:
"yes, that's right Mr. King, goatse.cx, uh-huh, yeah it's a great site to learn how to use a computer" - SuperBTZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24Ive never used the internet.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20I find it interesting that Larry King both makes an obviously "stupid" joke (what do you push little buttons and things," and refuses to even acknowledge that he might desire to "try out the Internet."
I suspect he knows all about how easily a person can get online, and how much potential for profit there is for a figure like himself. However, his fan-base I can visualise as sittin' in a chair guffawing out, "Har har! That's right, Larry! Screw the Internets, we don' need 'em!"
The joke itself seems like he's pandering to his demographic. - dracostimpy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17@FunkyWitDaSysTm
You said "he undoutedly has a massive staff". Heh heh mm heh heh heh. - FunkyWitDaSysTm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15larry king is probably in the fortunate position of not having to use the interweb tubes as he undoutedly has a massive staff doing it for him.
on rosanne barr: my respect for her just jumped a notch. then it jumped another when she offered to teach LARRY KING how to use the internet. not in a "oh, here, try this" kind of way, but with a definite undertone of urgency and importance.
she should become a spokeswoman for something internet-y (due to her directness and clarity of vision regarding the i-net) ... something important like net neutrality... - razei, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Currently, 119 people.
- martalli, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14I'm just here looking for the tubes.
- Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15And his clothes have been out of style for over 20 years.
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -3/+13Larry King is a smart man. Seriously. Stay away from the Internet. Once you're in...there's no coming out.
- ZippidyDoo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12.cz now not .cx ^_^
- wopbobaloobop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I remember when he had Bill Gates on, to talk about the Windows 95 launch. It was clear he had no concept of what Windows was.
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8um, MrAssman?
It's actually 2006 right now. November, in fact.
Are you in teh FUTURE? Can you give me some stock tips? - gotamd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8He's acting as if the idea of using the internet is scary and repulsive...very odd.
- joeydoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8now 277
.... this is fun. :)
It can be digg's equivalent of " FIRST!"
I hate those ***** though. - Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Because the internet is more amazing than any other technological revolution in history, including the invention of the radio and telephones. The time it takes to send and receive information over long distances is now in the milliseconds. You can talk to somebody LIVE through videochat across the world, with a simple DV camera and an internet connection. It has allowed for free, non-corporate controlled news to be available to anyone with an internet connection.
For a man who prides himself on being a 'newscaster', a person who should be on top of everything happening NOW, this is pretty ridiculous. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8An internet Virgin?
I couldnt even fathom never using the internet. - thomasthecat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7lol, noob!!1!
- Cyberdactyl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Larry's a DINOSAUR?! . . . . .no way. . . .really??!!
- bdwoolman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Time for Larry to move to the old age home. When you lose your curiosity it means your noggin is ossified. I for one would like to be shot of the bottom-feeding scum sucker. He pumps every low-life tabloid yarn like a plumber reaming a toilet. If I see him on the air I tune out CNN lest I be assaulted with more hour on the likes of Scott Peterson or poor Jon Binet Ramsey. NOT INTERESTED! When he has top people on his show he just schmoozes and kisses their asses, which is why they come on, but then what is the point?
When you are out-classed intellectually by Rosanne Barr it is time to take a pill and sit on the porch somewhere and wait for the sweet release of death. I taught my 80 year old father in law to use a computer and the net. Now he writes all his church stuff using word pad. And he regularly prints color photos I send him via email to take to his wife. He just got a digicam and a photo printer. Hell, I'm 54 myself and here I am with you brats.
Larry, it's time to retire or wake up. Buttons indeed! - joeydoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Obviously nothing since round-a-bout 1998 though.
like internet for dummies.
His assistant must be well pissed at having to print everything for him..... "looking at the ***** screen!!! I could be doing something else all day." - voodoom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Larry King = Luddite
- eean, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Heh yea probably. I sure as hell don't watch Larry King.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12So? What do you care if he doesn't use the internet? Does knowing what "www" stands for somehow trump nearly fifty years of broadcast experience?
- mhuggins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Yeah, all 1%
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Larry King is one of the most overrated people in broadcasting. And he's CNN's TOP show! He actually says he does no prep work for his program because he wants to keep it "spontaneous." If I had that attitude, my broadcasting career would have ended in the first year. That's just laziness.
- allaboutdatiki, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Larry King's only 73? Crap! I figured him for something closer to 90. Whatta Fossil.
Now Lou Dobbs ... he's got a big swinging brass pair.
WTF ever happened to Aaron Brown? - john85710, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This just proves to me how out of touch the Old Fart really is. His interviews are moronic. Time to retire Larry! And shut the #u$& up!
- skankyBacon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I hope I'm not that stubborn and curmudgeonly when I'm that old. It seems like everyone assumes that what *they* grew up with is the best way to do things, and anything new is not worth the time.
- cwcheang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3teh internet, buddy, is a way of life. right now nope. but as natural selection takes its place it'll eventually be the norm. =)
- etnu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Not being aware of the Internet puts you out of touch with a great deal of information. It makes you unaware of the services provided by businesses that make up over 25% of our economy. That's a problem if you're going to be a journalist, like it or not.
I'm fine if Larry doesn't use the Internet as much as a 20 year old, but he should be aware of how it, you know, actually works. It's the single most significant human achievement of the last century. - eean, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4yttrx, have you seen Larry King? The guy is not well informed in general.
- TheBigBrother, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/larry.king.live/
[witty comment about this site here] - BrotherGA2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3How absurd is it that a prominent person who has had the ears of many an american can be so ignorant and primitive. Even my grandparents that are in their late 70's AND live in Brazil use the internet for e-mail, searching, news, and skype. This is ridiculous.
Political opinion needs to be heard from as many different people and viewpoints as possible, or else it's too often, too biased and extremist like a lot of popular media such as TV and newspapers. - sheldonwilson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Jack Hannah once brought a skunk on Larry's show. Not even joking... Larry King asked what it was. He had never seen a skunk before. God, I wish I had that on video. Jack couldn't believe that Larry had never seen one. Priceless.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Ha, I know, but it's nearly 2007.. I guess that was just my strange way of rounding the year up because we're past the middle of 2006.
But I'll give you stock tips anyway: sell them all. - cypherz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2>Hell, I'm 54 myself and here I am with you brats.
heh. 50 here. Programmer for the last 20 years or so. I can't imagine anybody being so uncurious about the internet. Pretty amazing that he can get by. He must have a huge staff (of young people) doing all his work for him. Although from watching his show, I'd say there's not that much research done... he seems to just show up and shoot the sh*t with his guests. Good work if you can get it... - felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2awesome, mrASSMAN, thanks!
I had to sell them all really cheap to unload them in time, but I know that I did the right thing. It hurt ditching the Google stock for $2 a share, but I'm not going to argue with the man from the future. - lordsandwich, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Psst... it's behind the truck.
- raid517, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't know. It would be cool if she stod for congress though. She would sure give some of them a hard time.
- hoserb2k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You hear a lot about older people that decide for whatever reason not to use the 'net. I decided long ago not to get worked up over this. We are just gonna have to wait for all these people to die off, in 40 years WE will be the people in charge.
- goldylocks7621, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2larry king gets interviews with the most powerful people in the world. That should tell you everything you need to know about him. He's a worthless piece of *****. FYI, that's why he put down the internet.
