A: "No, Sir."
The clip is short, and clear.
The clip is only part of what he says, though.
In the New York Times it mentions he does say, "He added that the United States is not losing the war, either," but I'm not clear on the context or how he said it, exactly.
This is very different from what we've been hearing to this point.
The Times also says:
"Mr. Gates said, “there clearly were insufficient troops in Iraq after the initial invasion.” - flernk, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Does anyone other than Bush think we ARE winning? Oh wait. I forgot. Some of you still think we found WMD and that Saddam had something to do with 9-11. Well, at least the incoming Def. Sec. is willing to admit a couple mistakes. Let's hope the trend catches on.
