- ironeus, on 08/11/2008, -0/+19He definitely appeared a bit uneasy in the hot-seat during the interview.
- AmyVernon, on 08/11/2008, -0/+18True! Especially when they are.
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -0/+17Another one who got caught with his hand in the cookie basket-so to speak.
- ScottMcIntyre, on 08/11/2008, -1/+18The guilt of a politician is certainly a heavy burden to bear!
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -0/+13True!
- Eavesdropping, on 08/11/2008, -0/+12That last line sums up how I feel about this mess. I totally agree with the author's point of view. I wanted to slap Edwards when he emphasized his wife was in remission at the time of the affair. What a douche bag. In fact, I did slap his face on my TV screen.
- BeShirtHappy, on 08/11/2008, -0/+12True! His wife's cancer was in remission...so why should he feel guilty? Puleeze!
- webman77, on 08/11/2008, -0/+12"Television is so critical to starting a political career that it may well lead elected officials to believe it has the power to resurrect one."
I like these sentence most because it´s so true. - selmer, on 08/12/2008, -0/+11I think it would be hilarious if some famous, clean-cut politician/celebrity did something *****, and then when they got caught and were about to do their obligatory "I'm sorry, but I'm not a bad person/racist/bigot/drunk/drug user/john/homophobe/etc" speech (which always sucks balls), instead looked dead at the camera and told the world "Go ***** yourself...I'm an *****, so what? Blow me."
- louiebaur, on 08/11/2008, -0/+9100% ------------------- True!
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -0/+9yeah edwards is a douche. What makes him a bigger douche is that he embarrasses his wife when he is not a relevant political person at all.
- JusTuring, on 08/11/2008, -0/+7funny title!
- TCSavant, on 08/11/2008, -1/+8From the article:
And he made a point of telling Mr. Woodruff that his wife's cancer was in remission when he began the affair with Ms. Hunter.

Spoken like a true ambulance chaser. - Trey9128, on 08/12/2008, -0/+3What some people fail to recognize is that just like Clinton, Edwards denied, denied, denied until he finally realized they had the goods on him.
Then, and only then, did he say I messed up, I'm sorry, blah, blah, blah. There is no sincerity in a mea culpa after you've already been caught! - ferrofluid, on 08/15/2008, -0/+2'McCain's Seven Deadly Sins'
1. Lust (adultery with beer barbie, Keating Five lackey, desires Hagee’s money)
2. Gluttony ( bigamy {overlapping marriages}, 14 hour gambling sessions, owns ten houses )
3. Greed ( Congress-critter for hire, flip flopping to suit whoever is paying his tab,)
4. Sloth ( bigamist, child abandonment, missing votes in Congress, surrounded by sleazy GOP scumbags )
5. Wrath ( spouse abuse, MIA denier, mining company profits before evicted peoples heritage )
6. Envy ( plagiarism, campaign issue hijacker )
7. Pride ( lying, sneering, wraps himself in flag for ulterior purposes, strange desire to be Caesar aka POTUS)
these are a few of McCain's favorite things…
remind me again why the christian moral majority heart McCain again !!! - apackofmonkeys, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2You speak the truth. No big media company except foxnews even reported about it. Every other media outlet had a complete blackout of coverage for days. They blamed it on the fact that it was the Enquirer who first broke the story months ago, as if that somehow made the fact that multiple witnesses saw Edwards at the hotel pointless. When a repub even has rumors about a scandal it's the main story for days. Foxnews was the ONLY unbiased news source about this story; the other outlets showed an embarassingly obvious bias.
- unknownuser666, on 08/12/2008, -1/+2Dugg! Only because of the title
- sockpuppets, on 08/12/2008, -2/+3I hope you got the extended emo insurance for most of your expensive appliances.
- inactive, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Give the guy a break! His wife was in remission. He was celebrating!
- sockpuppets, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Cookie monster was a sex addict?
- inactive, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Jim Trafficant and Larry Craig would have words with you...
- yojiffyskippy, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Only because they're guiltier than most people.
- JQP123, on 08/12/2008, -2/+3Ever notice that when a Democrap screws up, it usually involves sex. When a Republicant screws up, it usually involves money.
There are exceptions but this seems to be the general rule. And I'm not saying that one is any better or worse than the other, just an observation that the lack of morality tends to manifest itself in different ways. - jfreeman, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1You say that like it exonerates the Republicans. The reason its worse for Republicans is because we're the party of "family values" that tries to tell people how to live their lives (no gay marriage! no marijuana!), and such scandals expose the perpetrators as a bunch of hypocrites. Both parties are full of a bunch of sleazy charlatans right now, and we need to vote them *all* out!
- Pittance, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Why does anyone ever think going on TV and giving into the ***** media will help? All the media wants is to crucify you, and have you supply the wood and nails. If you just ignore the media, eventually they will tire of you and make up their own stories. Then people will forget.
- yojiffyskippy, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1True but everyone kinda expects it from Democrats. So when the "Moral-right" gets caught, it's just a little sweeter. I agree that they're all politicians, thus slimy by default, so it really shouldn't surprise anyone when they get caught.
- yojiffyskippy, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Not true. The media is famous for beating a dead horse. They can go on-and-on for years just based on rumors and innuendos. On rare occasion when they have real proof, they'll never give up. The real problem with the politicians "thinking" is that it WILL go away so they delay and delay. The correct thing to do is to come clean before it becomes a major story. The buzz will die off much quicker however it will still most likely be a career ender.
- yojiffyskippy, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Not true, most politicians lie and speak half-truths on a daily basis. It only becomes difficult when they KNOW that the gig is up and there's hard evidence to prove them wrong.
- vinceislegend, on 08/12/2008, -1/+1*****' thing sucks.
- Inaktivist, on 08/12/2008, -0/+0Really sad that he would do this when his wife was sick and then try to justify it. Even more sad that this story about someone whose political career is clearly past it's apex is somehow more newsworthy than... anything else.
I have to give it to the author, the last line summed it up beautifully. - ninjarabbits, on 08/12/2008, -0/+0what what?

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ClfpG2-1Bv4 - TheEnoculator, on 02/17/2009, -1/+1It's very hard to lie to the media and still keep a straight face because you know millions of people are watching you at the same time.
- inactive, on 08/12/2008, -1/+1Ah yes, the digg equivalent of drawing on the walls with crayons.
- fadzil1976halim, on 08/12/2008, -1/+0yes it true....it happen to me..
- cl0n3x, on 08/12/2008, -2/+1Spread the love of my Companion Cube ascii, SPREAD IT!
- Dibou, on 08/12/2008, -7/+4So funny. One of the Democrats many scandals is just "another politician" (when the old media is finally forced to cover it). Other Democrats in their scandals (like Detroit mayor), New Jersey gov, or NY gov aren't actually labeled as Democrats and it is just a sad day for politics in general.
When a Republican is involved in scandal then it is the whole, damn party that the media drags into the mess spinning it into a culture of corruption. - DrunkenDigger, on 08/12/2008, -9/+5…………………………………___„„„„----^--„„„__
