    In a free nation, habeas corpus should be unconditional. Back in November of 2001 this right was questioned, and in came the notion of conditional habeas corpus. Suddenly it was possible for a foreign citizen to be indefinitely detained, as long as he was considered suspected of terrorism. The dangerous part is precisely this notion of who's classified to be an enemy combatant, because it's a slippery slope. It's a definition that tends to get progressively weaker, preying on the fears and ignorance of the population, and soon enough the government starts incarcerating all kinds of dissenters.

    And which presidential candidates mention the travesty that is the suspension of habeas corpus? It's important that people research this for themselves, so if you don't know, please inform yourself. But keep in mind that a country can only be free if habeas corpus is not contested.

Now say, and I hope it isn't the case, but say that the US is about to become ... to become what? What exactly are we hinting at here? That the US becomes a full-fledged fascist dictatorship run by it's military and special government branches (FBI, CIA, NSA, FEMA, etc. we could include the media)? That the government will send it's own people to prison camps and eradicate them? Like Hitler-Germany?

    This sounds a little far-fetched, but SAY, just for the sake of argument, that this process was in the making. It sure seems like it could, with the kinds of laws and special signings that Bush is implementing, and all the signs that are indicated in this video. A frightening scenario, indeed! With the military power that the US has, etc., a very scary situation for the rest of the world, as well as the US domestically.

    The real issue here is not whether this IS happening or not... the real issue is to ensure that it CANNOT happen! Use your right to vote, while you still have it, your right to protest, your right to question your government and hold them responsible for their actions - remember, you hired them, and they should answer to you, not the other way around! Vote for the sane candidate, some modern, enlightened, educated person who will make it a point to return the US to order and justice, to re-institute Habeas Corpus and rid off the Patriot Act and other special orders instated to deal with "dangerous enemy combatants" and "possible terrorists". Return America to its citizens, take the power away from the crazy few whose agenda I fail to see as anything but craziness and monetary gain through war-mongering and anti-science.

    "statism" is a generalized term for the belief in government, the belief that people are better off when controlled by an centralized organization, the belief that people should be ruled.

    Fascism, socialism, and communism share this concept although they implement it somewhat differently. Just like "children", all in the same family, taught by the same parents, yet all different.

    The Soviets were developing socialism under Lenin, then Stalin's counter-revolution turned it into a state-capitalist bureaucracy. Cuba is socialist, but with an authoritarian government. North Korea is Juche, which is some sort of idiotic interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, combined with Maoism and Stalinism (not that Maoism and Stalinism aren't already idiotic to begin with).

My only issues are with the cops. Look in Pakistan and around the world and throughout history. Cops and Military do what they are told and crack heads. What will they do here? If the economy collapses and the gov't tells cops and military to crack down and diggers rioting in the streets and promises them that cops and military will still get paid and extra food rations. What do you think will happen? Its been done before all throughout history. You would be amazed to see what people do for a few extra food rations and extra gasoline rations.

We've constantly curtailed the very immutable rights we claim are due to everyone. America's history is one of hate and intolerance, more so than any other western country.

    Racism, sexism, homophobia -- all of these disease affect America more than any other civilized country. The worst blight, the worst disease we've yet to attack. I'm a Christian but I'll tell you right now that religion is the disease that makes America the worst of the civilized countries. We use Christianity to justify slavery. We use it to justify sexism. We use it to justify homophobia and the suppression of the rights of gay people.

    We know these things are wrong, in our hearts, but in our heads, we say "Our pastor condones it, our Bible teaches it, so regardless of what we feel, we'll go along with it". You do that enough, and if you raise your kids that way, it just becomes that way.

    Intolerance will lead to the destruction of America as we try to destroy the Muslim people in their entirety.
