Send a nice letter or email lets get this guy a raise. Good thing happen to good people. - slinky317, on 03/16/2008, -4/+769After some research, user klaarn on reddit.com found out the guy's name. He is Sergeant Wayne Guillary and his RateMyCop site is: http://www.ratemycop.com/index.php?option=com_comp ...
- lawngnomes4pres, on 03/16/2008, -9/+721It seems so simple to be polite. Why aren't there more of these videos?
damn it, cops..... damn it. - Phatlip012, on 03/16/2008, -1/+430Videos of cops using tasers on innocent citizens are always going to get attention. However, I think it's important to give positive attention to a job well done. Digg this video up to set an example and standard for other police officers.
Well done. :) - Thud, on 03/16/2008, -2/+410It should also be noted that this is how protestors SHOULD protest. They're not being disruptive, blocking streets, etc.
- TonyKay, on 03/16/2008, -4/+411 Brilliant, what a guy. Xenu smiles upon him
- Poetheunclothed, on 03/16/2008, -1/+283Promote that man!
- cannibaljp, on 03/16/2008, -2/+230my mom was a cop (retired now) - i sent this video to her and she called me right away to thank me. she sees all of the other stuff where cops act like asshats, and it gets to her...
this man - a hero, for great justice! - SuminderJi, on 03/16/2008, -4/+215A pro-cop story on digg?
Good on him. I've met a few nice cops, and then a few power-tripped cops. In the end, its the same ratio of normal people. Go figure? - ukfoole, on 03/16/2008, -18/+226POLICE STATE! REPRESSION! If I want to get hit by a car, that is my right! What a jerk!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, wait, usual snap reaction to a story about police on digg. - oflyt, on 03/16/2008, -1/+185R-E-S-P-E-C-T
- arcangelgabriel, on 03/16/2008, -3/+173Finally.
Thank you subby. There are so many of us [cops] that HATE the moron officers that step on their dicks in spectacular fashions. Refreshing to have the public reminded that there are many MANY of us that do our jobs professionally and with common courtesy. Here's to a brother officer that does it right.
Again, thanks.
Det.Sgt. D. Gabriel - joel8x, on 03/16/2008, -12/+171I'm sure this guy is in the majority. People only like sensationalist stories, and have recently only talked about the bad cops. At some point, talking about bad cops gets old so when you report on a good one, it is newsworthy. If you were to go to your local police station, I'm sure the vast majority of cops there are good people.
- Husvik, on 03/16/2008, -3/+156A police officer who actually does his job, nice.
- AnonymousLRH, on 03/16/2008, -2/+153Officers like him should be rewarded. If you were at that protest and know anything about him or his precinct, make a call and praise him for making the police state just a little more bearable.
- subterfuge, on 03/16/2008, -3/+150i have a feeling that it was the color of his skin that reminded you of obama.
- SHv2, on 03/16/2008, -124/+271Of all the times I've been pulled over, why couldn't it have been a guy that was that nice?
Reminds me of Obama... :) - Ciryon, on 03/16/2008, -16/+150I might be a pussy, but that actually gave me tears.. and when stuff like that gives you tears you know the world is ***** up
- TubeDigger, on 03/16/2008, -1/+112It's great how digg can digg this guy up in real life
- Agenda, on 03/16/2008, -3/+99This was my email :)
Here is my email:
Dear sir,
As you might have noticed, there have been protests globally against the Cult of Scientology. This might not be the first email you recieve over this, and hopefully not your last. After seeing the terrible events of the PEACEFUL protest in Atlanta where a peaceful protester was arrested by officers carrying battle rifles and full riot gear, I attended the LA event with apprehension.
Hoping at the best, indifference from your officers, I and several others were overjoyed to have officers who were concerned about our safety and not the interest of the rich, powerful Cult we have been trying to raise awareness about.
Officer Wayne Guillary is a shining example of what the star represents on the badge of the police. Here is proof:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=k9yIBOnbJjY
He has stuck up for the constituitional rights of the people of America, where other rogues have constantly tried to suppress it. Please give him our thanks. (Or rather my personal thanks)
As I said, this is probably not the first email you have recieved regarding this great example, however the volume of emails recieved would hopefully help him get the retribution he needs. Thank you very much sir.
Faithfully,
Anonymous Citizen. - oyflaaaayvin, on 03/16/2008, -1/+95I wish there was more video.
- inactive, on 03/16/2008, -30/+116And that is usually how protesters are handled, until they become jerks and start harassing the police.
- doctorfungi, on 03/16/2008, -0/+86What a fine officer of the law. There are a lot of them like this guys. It's a shame that the bad ones bring their reputation down.
- joshf52, on 03/16/2008, -3/+88Nice cop is nice.
- inactive, on 03/16/2008, -4/+84fansites in 5, 4, 3..
- mattgerm, on 03/16/2008, -1/+80Notice the lack of riot gear
- whatsupimphil, on 03/16/2008, -0/+76This is the America I love.
- Thedarklord187, on 03/16/2008, -10/+82The one good cop that i've ever witnessed in my life, amazing this man does deserve a raise and in case the other posts with the info pertaining to him got dugg down or lost heres a recap of what we have

and i think this man is one of the few people that understands that americans have the right to protest in this country as so many have seem to forgotten - unknamed, on 03/16/2008, -2/+71"Why aren't there more of these videos?"
Because watching a cop being polite is boring, we want to see the ones who scream at 13 year olds and beat up people unprovoked... now that's entertainment! - LadyDub, on 03/16/2008, -1/+69You can't read his name badge unfortunately. Would be nice to get something like that to the news. He's a role model for other cops.
oops- saw down where someone knew his name. - MasterPlayer, on 03/16/2008, -3/+68If you watch the video in high quality (by typing &fmt=18 in the address bar) you can almost see his name. Apparently this is ratemycop.com profile : http://www.ratemycop.com/index.php?option=com_comp ...
- shamanlife, on 03/16/2008, -3/+67This is a beautiful and rare event, kind of like seeing a Yeti.
- Phatlip012, on 03/16/2008, -1/+64email sent :)
- PaulLewis, on 03/16/2008, -9/+71Scent!
- AustinGoodchild, on 03/16/2008, -1/+57For process there must be both criticism and praise to the police service. This is quite a contrast the the other Anonymous protest video posted today, where I feel they acted badly and should be held later accountable for such behavior on a later date (link: http://digg.com/odd_stuff/Video_of_Riot_Police_Arr ... ). Unlike like the police in that video, this man deserves the greatest sincere respect.
- norman619, on 03/16/2008, -3/+57Well the problem is not that police all act like power tripping *****. Diggers and the popular media seem to love to focus on the few bad police officers and make it look like they are ALL like this. If you don't buy it read the comments to all the past posts about the police. It's pretty sad. I was amazed to see a positive post here about the police.
- consoneo, on 03/16/2008, -0/+54Pulled over for breaking laws? Probably
Protesting: Not breaking laws. :) - encrypteduser, on 03/16/2008, -1/+52email sent!

- Jackson0909, on 03/16/2008, -5/+52Does every freaking thing have to be compared to Barack Obama? There isn't a story on Digg that doesn't have some kind of reference to Obama. It is ridiculous.
- jetfuel, on 03/16/2008, -1/+46Battle rifles?
- gbjxc, on 03/16/2008, -0/+44"Just make sure you keep the sidewalks clear, it gets pretty heavy around here. Enjoy your time protesting, you live in the United States, the greatest country in the world, and you have a great time. I just don't want you running out in the streets getting hit by a car, 'cause then you'll wind up here at [name of a hospital] or at Children's Hospital, and I don't want anything to happen to you"
- EntropyFan, on 03/16/2008, -0/+43it isn't always the cops.
The only demonstration I have been a part of that went bad was caused by some of the protesters being complete pricks.
And once the violence started, the police had little choice but to come down on all of us. - Yetisquatch, on 03/16/2008, -1/+44hey.... whats up?
- christoast, on 09/04/2008, -1/+44sent
- rabidmonkey1, on 03/16/2008, -2/+44Alright, before this gets out of hand, Digg users need to take a moment to think... Ratemycop.com is more useful to users when those who actually know the cop and have interacted with them rate the officer. Now, I'm not saying this kind of feedback on a video clip doesn't deserve to be seen/heard - but we must make an effort to make sure we don't turn into a mob, especially when none of us have actually met this officer.
Perhaps it would be useful if ratemycop.com had comment category filtering? - Agenda, on 03/16/2008, -0/+42Whoops. Assault rifles is what I meant. I er, played a bit too much.
- illynova, on 03/16/2008, -2/+44I know police brutality stories a dime a dozen these days, but I'd just like to chime in and say that 99% of the time police ARE like this. They may not agree with you, and they may think you're being silly... but hey, just so long as you don't get run over or do anything illegal its all okay.
I've walked by protests before, and the police are usually courteous. -
