Interesting points:
In the ancient world, Jews sold Christian slaves to Arabs, and Arab slaves to Christians. Jews were considered the dominant player in the slave trade.
Jews in the slave trade are invariably disguised as 'whites' or 'Europeans' even though they were not considered either -- by themselves, or by white Europeans, implying that someone has been tampering with the history of the slave trade.
A Jewish scholar from the Simon Wisenthal Center brags in his college thesis that the Talmud (the Jews' holy book) laid the foundation for the view that Africans were subhuman, the products of incest, and cursed by God -- then denies having written that.
The Jews were vastly overrepresented at the Dutch East India company -- the dominant player in the Atlantic slave trade -- and were importing slaves from African to the Caribbean well before their European counterparts began their shameful exploitation of Africans in the Americas.
In the colonies and in early America, slaves vastly outnumbered whites in the ownership of slaves. While relatively few white families owned slaves, as many as 75% of Jewish families did. Jewish families were thus dramatically overrepresented in slave ownership, just as they were in slave trading.
Nineteenth century European Americans complained that while Jews, like whites, had played a role in the Atlantic slave trade, Jews, unlike whites, refused to play a role in ending slavery. The Jewish and white elites had run the slavery industry, but ending it was left to the white masses.
Doubtless, given the tendency in America to give Jews special treatment due to their long history of blowback in Europe, both the videos and this explanatory post are likely to be met with the harshest vitriol. Still, if you find the subject matter interesting, and you feel that no group, regardless of how wealthy or powerful, should be immune from scrutiny, you may find the videos highly enlightening.

I've read numerous books on slavery and there is little or no mention of Jews role in that atrocity. Then again, I am not surprised to see them tampering with history, when they won't even tell the truth about current events...... It states clearly that the Torah attributes NO racial characteristics to Ham. Moses married a *****, one of the reputed descendants of Ham, according to the Book of Numbers, Chapter 12. True bible believers should feel vindicated.
The reason why a number of early Jewish writers have interpreted the Biblical narrative of Ham in a racial way can directly be attributed to the teachings of Sanhedrin 108b in the Babylonian Talmud. It states:
"Our Rabbis taught: Three copulated in the ark, and they were all punished — the dog, the raven, and Ham. The dog was doomed to be tied, the raven expectorates [his seed into his mate's mouth]. and Ham was smitten in his skin." The nature of Ham's "smitten" skin is unexplained, but latter commentaries described this as a darkening of skin. A later note to the text states that the "smitten" skin referred to the blackness of descendents, and a later comment by rabbis in the ***** Rabbah asserts that Ham himself emerged from the ark black-skinned. The Zohar states that Ham's son Canaan "darkened the faces of mankind".
It's shocking how vulgar some of those antiquated religious texts are. Thankfully, apart from the Chabad Lubavitchers, a few settlers in the illegally occupied territories, and Digg's own Bury Brigade, few people share this vile hatred today. - inactive, on 08/09/2008, -5/+8Given the recent news accounts of the way the Rabbis imported immigrants to work for them in the Iowa slaughterhouse and the justifications given for this treatment, it is very believable that these same Rabbis in the past could have acted in a similar way. The treatment of these poor workers in Iowa is probably the closest thing to slavery that we have today in the US.

- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -1/+3The slavery in the Torah is about indented servitude or captured prisoners of war. Slavery is presented in an entirely negative light. And kidnapping someone for slavery is a capital crime. Slavery in the Torah is not the slavery we had in America. That Jews, Christians, Moslems and Africans all had a role in the African slave trade is true, as far as that goes. But look into history and see which groups had greater roles.
Christians in the US at the time of the Civil War used the Christian Bible and the Hebrew Bible to justify and to oppose slavery. But if they took the part about kidnapping seriously, things would have been quite different.
Again, American slavery has nothing except name in common with the slavery of the Hebrew Bible. The Jewish sites like Jewish Virtual Library etc. seem to have a knee jerk rejection of this topic - labeling it "anti-Semitic" and fail to give any credible evidence other than the "labeling" of the question. As Ben Stein (actor, lawyer, speechwriter) has stated "so Jews own the media - so what?"; so it surprising that this issue has not been explored in America in the mainstream media? If you have lived outside of the USA you will be shocked by the way the rest of the worldviews Israel vs. the party line here. It is therefore not surprising that this issue is ignored. On NPR (National Public Radio) last week a news crew was interviewing Jewish settlers being evicted from illegal homes they built in the west bank - by the Israeli Army. When the reporter asked a simple question to one of the Jewish protestors about the legality of the settlements the protester started screaming about the reporters anti-Semitic views! He refused to answer a rather innocuous question and ranted about the anti-Semitism of the news crew. NPR is hardly known for it's anti-Israel leanings - the majority of the "on arir" staff are Jewish. The truth and actual historical facts are two different things - and as we get older and wiser we often find out that the world is not what it was portrayed to us in school. Remember that over 6 million Jews were killed in the Nazi death camps, but over 6 million non-Jews died in the camps – when do you hear about these people? Why are there no memorials for them? Why is there no national museum for these victims? Makes one wonder?
