- inactive, on 06/09/2009, -0/+59Burris just has no game when it comes to lying, he's impressively clueless about the turd storm he's gotten himself in
- presidentraygun, on 06/09/2009, -2/+29Well the hole is close to the taint.
- JoeMondo, on 06/09/2009, -1/+27What a lying snake. I can't stand him, and wish the Dems could do something to lose him.
- inactive, on 06/09/2009, -6/+25You know it's bad when articles in the WaPo call for you to resign. Even they get it, which means that the truth must be unavoidable.
- Insightful, on 06/09/2009, -1/+20You FAIL.
- asgardshill, on 06/09/2009, -21/+40But Rush Limbaugh solemnly assured me that the Washington Post was in the tank for Democrats and would never speak ill about one!
- dienaked, on 06/09/2009, -2/+18Dug for Senator, hole, deeper and taint-ed all in the same headline.
- Jasta88, on 06/09/2009, -0/+13In January, Mr. Burris said, "There was certainly no pay-to-play involved because I don't have no money." In February, he admitted that he did try to raise money for Mr. Blagojevich. Now we have the audiotapes of him trying to pay to play without looking like it.
Pretty sure his comment in January was a double negative admitting he did pay to play. Oh well, i'm from Illinois and honestly can't see how our politics can get any worse. We've been plagued with poor judgement at the voter and political level for a long time, and I don't see it changing anytime soon. - gazzigger, on 06/09/2009, -0/+13What a *****, this guy makes me sicker every day. What is up with my dumbass state? And what is up with the other Dems not being able to force this POS out?
- bsmang, on 06/09/2009, -0/+12"impressively clueless"... I like it.
- faskippy, on 06/09/2009, -4/+13He's not the only embarrassment to come out of Illinois.
- akchrs, on 06/09/2009, -13/+20I hate to think what would happen to the country if someone from Ill. ever was elected president....... oh wait.
- palmer, on 06/09/2009, -0/+7His conduct is less embarrassing than his illiteracy:
"There was certainly no pay-to-play involved because I don't have no money." - ichbinladen, on 06/10/2009, -0/+7Burris has no political acumen. I'd go so far as to say he's unintelligent.
- aduzik, on 06/09/2009, -0/+7But, if you listen to what he was actually saying, it was that he wanted to do something to endear himself to Blagojevich without *looking* like he was doing something to endear himself to Blagojevich. His concern was not the actual impropriety of pay-to-play, just how to do it without getting caught. He's completely bent, and he needs to be gone.
- ChefGroovy, on 06/10/2009, -1/+7At least when the repubs have a sleezeball like that they drop them like a wet sock. Dems just deny deny deny
- rand21althor, on 06/09/2009, -2/+8I checked the comments specifically to see if someone had said that.
- TheBifman, on 06/09/2009, -1/+7haha...turd storm
- felman87, on 06/09/2009, -1/+6I'm sure the Intern who created that headline was fired.
- cptshamrock, on 06/09/2009, -2/+7They could have never accepted him in the first place! But the dems caved and let him have a senate seat. So Dems = Fail in this case.
- cptshamrock, on 06/09/2009, -0/+5He was the only guy stupid enough to still accept the nomination.
- Ouze, on 06/09/2009, -5/+10Perhaps he can slide some of the taint off, and get out of his deep hole by rolling over and fingering someone else, like Blago, in a 12 man probe. Until then, his rep is going to keep taking a long, hard pounding.
vagina boob - xman8, on 06/09/2009, -0/+5If we had a real three party system, you could have a choice of getting shot in the head, chest or crotch.
- danielttt, on 06/10/2009, -1/+5And certainly not the worst
- AwakeningAZ, on 06/09/2009, -4/+7Dear news outlets: Stop using the word 'tainted'. It does not mean what you think it means anymore.
- goes211, on 06/09/2009, -2/+5That is what you get when you have single party rule. It does not matter if it is Democrats in Chicago or Republican's in Washington, corruption is the end result.
- seobro, on 06/10/2009, -2/+5William Jefferson likes the term "cold cash". However, I am surprised that Burris is in office. The headline might soon read "Burris is Busted!"
- op12, on 06/09/2009, -0/+3This topic was covered best by The Daily Show:
http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?vide ... - JoeMondo, on 06/10/2009, -1/+4I don't know what choice they had in the matter.
- quirkopatra, on 06/09/2009, -0/+3and a promotion is in order.
- kreneskyp, on 06/10/2009, -2/+4they did try to stop it but didn't have any legal standing to do so and burris sure wasn't going to step down on his own.
- pinkcherry, on 06/09/2009, -1/+3I am glad I am not the only one that noticed. Too bad they submitter couldn't find a way to fit gape in title as well..lol
- eir574, on 06/10/2009, -2/+4" But the dems caved and let him have a senate seat."
And if they'd ignored the law and refused to allow him to be seated, you'd be claiming that the democrats don't care about the rule of law. - quirkopatra, on 06/09/2009, -0/+2Why, when we know that our governor was rotten...and that rottenness has tentacles...can't we VOTE again for a governor and a senator. They tell us it's too expensive, but yesterday's paper talked about all kinds of new taxes on things like iced-friggin-tea to pay for a bunch of political pet projects.
- ChefGroovy, on 06/10/2009, -0/+2no. Racism is dead
- Uberfat, on 06/09/2009, -0/+2Touche.
- inactive, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2Or being convicted
- mtjohnson, on 06/09/2009, -3/+4There's no excuse for this kind of taint.
- basiccable, on 06/09/2009, -2/+3Unfortunately, that's what she said.
- Uberfat, on 06/09/2009, -2/+3This is what we get for having a 2 party system. A voters only choice is getting shot in the head or chest. Is this really the best we can come up with?
- southwestnut, on 06/10/2009, -3/+4see also white house....
- Serinus, on 06/09/2009, -1/+2Well, he apparently got away with it.
- whiskeythief, on 06/11/2009, -1/+2Palin is not dumb. You are useful because you believe what you are told to believe and you hate who you are told to hate.
- ChefGroovy, on 06/10/2009, -2/+3no, but all POLITICIANS from Illinois are like Obama, blogo, burris and that gang
- mattowan, on 06/10/2009, -1/+2Kirk for Senate!!
- inactive, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Palin is much more intelligent than the useful fool and their sort.
- eliseville, on 06/24/2009, -0/+1The Illinois Dems chickened out when they could have put it before the voters where it always should've been. But nobody, neither Governor nor Legislature, wants to risk something "F*n Golden!" (An icky bird in the hand is better than two in the bush???) The Illinois Democratic legislators gave themselves this sick feeling.
The people of Illinois have no cause to be embarassed, their political system has failed them again. - methdwman3, on 06/10/2009, -1/+2Are we still racists for questioning this guy's appointment?
