- hambend, on 10/11/2007, -1/+48Funny?
How the ***** is this funny? It's a blatant lie, not just honest confusion but an earnest attempt to deflect questioning about a serious crime that has been committed. Everyone knows Tony Snow should lose his job. Everyone knows Gonzales should be thrown in prison. Everyone knows this is just one more reason on an ever growing list why this entire administration needs to be dismantled, tried for its crimes, and made into an example for anyone who might follow in their path. But hey, they do this so often it's been turned into an amusing running gag. Ha! Ha! Those corrupt officials! When will they learn?
Never. You're *****, America. Your country has lost its soul, the revolutionary spirit it had back when you made a positive difference in the world. And as long as you all sit around laughing instead of standing up and shouting, it's only going to get worse. - timtimes, on 10/11/2007, -2/+44Compare the clips. Lying for a living has a ruinous effect on one's health.
Enjoy. - jp58, on 10/11/2007, -3/+43Who you gonna believe, eh? Big Tony or your lyin' eyes, eh?
- quakerorts, on 10/11/2007, -5/+38SNOW JOB!
- Tabou, on 10/11/2007, -3/+33Tony Snow's job *is* to lie. The press knows it, and still bothers.
- quez, on 10/11/2007, -2/+22A Bush administration official lying? Oh dear. Didn't see that coming. Oh, wait a minute...
- DeskFlyer, on 10/11/2007, -4/+23Snowned.
- dawg109, on 10/11/2007, -4/+23what webs we weave when we weave to decieve......
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18"What's with all the linking to Crooks and Liars?"
It's not like the right wing corporate media is going to point out the fact that Tony Snow is a liar. Besides, what is wrong with Crooks and Liars? Are they incorrect on any facts in this story? - FullMetalMonkey, on 10/11/2007, -3/+16Tony's hair is turning Grey really fast. Its either a bye product of his lying or his cancer, either way its not good.
- stickyboot, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13Because they host interesting content that lots of people tend to miss.
- ChromaVita, on 10/11/2007, -13/+25Didn't Clinton get impeached for something like that?
- cambrown99, on 10/11/2007, -2/+14They catch Tony Snow lying almost every night.
- captinherb, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11@172pilot:
I find it amusing that the same people that complained so loudly about Clinton are the same ones that seem confused that Libby is in trouble - Ifishbein, on 10/11/2007, -3/+14The Daily Show is the only news source left on television.
- damndj, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12He did report for FOX news after all. Are we surprised?
- Drahkar, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9@pepegsay - "crime commited? you're a moron, there is no crime. This is a purley political scandal."
Actually it is a crime for a people involved in government to lie to the Public and to other members of congress. At the very least Snow should be fired, worst charges should be filed. And since he's acting with approval from the Bush Administration regarding what he is saying to the press, an investigation should be opened on that front to see how much lying has been done. That's why Politicians in the past, when they lie, at least try and keep their stories consistent so they don't get caught. - Drahkar, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9@pepegsay -
Well lets follow your reply then. Original Post by jp58:
"Who you gonna believe, eh? Big Tony or your lyin' eyes, eh?"
Your Response:
"crime commited? you're a moron, there is no crime. This is a purley political scandal. It is the equivalent of saying "The president's administation wasn't nice to people." Of course the firings were political, they are political **appointees** for god's sake. The scandal is even more political because it seeks to convince the weak spined like yourself that there was any wrongdoing here."
Unless you mean the comment under which the Article itself was posted. which consisted of:
"Funny!"
Neither of which make any sense seeing as neither comment has anything to do with saying a word about crimes or even mentioning politics. Myself, I'm assuming you were responding to hambend's comment:
"Funny?

Now there is a comment that contains all the variables we are looking for. However it doesn't change the fact you are saying there is no crime being committed when in fact there is. Government officials and representatives for government officials have been charged in the past for lying. As was mentioned earlier, Bill Clinton himself was impeached because he lied. Lets get into specifics. Perhaps Snow doesn't get charged for lying because he didn't do it under oath. There are members of the Administration that said the same thing and did so while under oath. That is a crime. So I still fail to see how the statement that there wasn't a crime committed isn't wrong.
Also, as a side note. A Political Scandal is a scandal because someone was doing something they weren't supposed to be doing. ie something illegal. Just thought I'd point that out for you. - maxer64, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10You know, honestly I'll be more shocked when a member of the administration is put into that position and actually tells the truth. The doublespeak just doesn't surprise me anymore.
- melve, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8"but of course this wont get picked up by any corporate media "
Heh. I dugg this up and then I realized that, hey, The Daily Show is actually corporate media. But I get what you're saying. Mainstream news outlets seem to have the long term memory of an Alberto Gonzales ( I was going to say 'fish' but realized that might be an understatement ) these days. - TenebrousX, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9@jesusgaytard -
Reread his comment - he didn't blame Clinton at all. he was saying that since Clinton was impeached for lying, so should the current officials - DeskFlyer, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIG9-y0Gjp4
- hiikeeba, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7How can you tell when a political flunky is lying? His lips are moving.
- spucky, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9So, apparently, are you.
- SwordOfShannara, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7@fullmetalmonkey - maybe the cancer is a result of the lying (I'm serious). Can you imagine the stress of lying for a war that is killing hundreds of thousands of people? Stress kills. Presidents age about 10 years in a 4 year term (if not more). Lying to promote death for profits has got to do something to people who have somewhat of a conscience. I do think Tony has some good in him- not enough but some.
- Homerr, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9I am embarrassed for my country that this liar is the spokesperson for the President.
- ThePeteStanis, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7@jesusgaytard
Check your definition of "blame" before using that word. - eth3l, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Politicians lie?
holy *****! what are we going to do??????????????? - rspeed, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5He's wearing the exact same outfit in both clips. Does the man only own one suit and tie*?
* That may be the same tie. The color is slightly different, but that could be due to different cameras and lighting conditions. - damndj, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Just another bold face lie that the White House will get away with.
- ecorona, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4At the end of the video Jon Stewart said "They don't care, they don't even watch."
Is this true about the American people as well? We can't keep taking this lying down anymore. We need to remove the Right-Wing Conservatives affiliated with George Bush. I'm not saying let's attack their ideas, let's just attack corruption! These bastards have shown to be more corrupt than the Mafia. - morningmatters, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5The media has been pretty nice to Snow lately due to this cancer status, but that's gotta end sometimes.
- melve, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4@chromavita
Clinton was impeached for lying under oath (perjury). Apparently politicians are allowed to lie about whatever they want, no matter how damaging, as long as they haven't put their hand on a bible and sworn not to. - Delphium226, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4@JamesSpaza
"You really believe that The Daily Show is the only source of news remaining on television?"
This from the idiot who believes that Fox News is unbiased.
Dugg down for being a wanker. - FuzzyCat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4
"This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Viacom International Inc." - DesignerScott, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5The Daily Show catches Tony Snow Lying...
AGAIN! - spucky, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Watch his eyes when he says he never said that.
- rmock, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Wow, eth3l, so Gore lies too, and you even have the proof to back it up. So does that mean that Tony Snowprano doesn't fib, or is allowed to fib, or it is ok to fib since big Al fibs? My poor little brain isn't grasping your point.
- Kikinou, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Snow's job description hardly changed when he left his job at Faux News to become the press sec'y.
- HinDeSky, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5When Tony Snowjob opens his mouth it's a lie.
- dodus, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I'm telling you, what the man needs is a binder. He wouldn't be having so many "slip-ups" if he'd just be keeping track of everything in his binder.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3@sickjack
"I hate leftists"
"I do not believe any of these websites have EVER caught anyone in the Administration lying. "
Hmmmm. Thanks for your opinion.
I guess.... - fantasticFlan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4This was pretty blatant though: "We never said that exact thing I said."
- Terr01, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3@sickjack: "You will never take any attempt to debunk leftist claims seriously, because your mind is made up. Read the transcript. The words were taken out of context."
Fine. I propose we settle this on the facts. Gather round, all, as we delve deep into Sickjack's fantasy world where adding more context changes the meaning!
Here's the before-and-after transcripts:

Q But is he saying that he was so in the loop, then, that he definitely knew there was nothing political, or was he, in fact, removed, as you indicated this morning?
MR. SNOW: No, I think -- again, what the President has -- the Department of Justice has made recommendations, they've been approved. And it's pretty clear that these things are based on performance and not on sort of attempts to do political retaliation, if you will.
===========
Q Okay, but at the beginning of this story, the President, you, Dan Bartlett, others said on camera that politics was not involved, this was performance-based.
MR. SNOW: That is something -- we have never said that. I think you'll have to take a look at comments that have been made by the Justice Department. What we've said is that people serve at the pleasure of the President. That's the operative principle here.
===========
Now you, sickjack, need to show me what context you claim exists that supposedly changes this so that Snow isn't lying. I've given you the links. I've given you the basic bits in each of them. I assume you possess the ability to search for terms within a webpage, and I expect you to back up your bogus case that some sort of important context is missing. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2@sickjack
"Do you mean to say that I DIDN'T thoroughly debunk this article's claims?"
No. Although, now that you mention it, you didn't. But that is not what I was trying to say.
What I was trying to say is that your clear and self- admitted extreme bias causes most readers to take your opinion less seriously than you do. You lower your own credibility through statements like "liberal ideology is based in relativism, so they have no basis for rendering sound value judgments" or "a caffeine-fueled robot surfing Digg."
I didn't make you use faulty logic or childlike reasoning. I'm simply here pointing it out.
Have a nice day! - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Tony Snow was hired to lie with a straight face.
- Delphium226, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3What a dick.
- qdkk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2@ethanthelame ...
your name says a lot about you. - Vermifax, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Re-elect them. Apparently.
