- hpodity, on 11/04/2009, -3/+87Now I'm going to change my voice to sound more reasonable and make it appear as if my words have been backed up with genuine thought...
- LBUCHA, on 11/04/2009, -5/+82My favorite thing the daily show has done in awhile. BRILLIANT.
- FredFredrickson, on 11/04/2009, -8/+84I still fail to see how Republicans winning two governorships shows anything even remotely close to how the nation, as a whole, is feeling, let alone how the president is doing.
You might as well take the local mayoral election results as a referendum on the president as well. Or even the local high school's class president elections. It's absurd. - junkneo, on 11/04/2009, -1/+55Local elections reflect the candidates and what they are capable of and not just a president's opinion. No point in arguing that Obama's influence is fading. People expect results, the current recession is something that took years in the making and will take years to mend.

- lolerskate, on 11/04/2009, -2/+45Aint it cute you used is jewish name as a way to insult him, im sure your the same kind of guy that puts extra infasis on the Hussein part of Obama's name amiright?
- stevenwalters, on 11/05/2009, -1/+31People who hate on Jon Stewart have obviously never actually watched the daily show.
- lolerskate, on 11/04/2009, -7/+34Ah cable news, full of ***** as always.
- rossnyc, on 11/04/2009, -1/+26Now I'll play the part of the guy who agrees with your comment. I'll even say, with a possible exclamation point, how I'd vote you up twice.
- jrm125, on 11/04/2009, -2/+24***** pundits
- Dweller99, on 11/05/2009, -2/+23Wow. Based on the hate in these comments, I suspect Stewart has made his way onto some talking point list somewhere as someone to be yelled down at every opportunity. When can we expect a random "You Lie!" from an audience member?
- VitriolAndAngst, on 11/04/2009, -10/+27I predict Obama's support will erode even more, and the Democrats will take more heat.
Because our system is so corrupted by Lobbyists, NOBODY can pass a single payer option that doesn't line the pockets of the health insurance profiteers. Nobody can get out of Iraq or Afghanistan, unless we have another war for contractors to bank on. Nobody can solve the banking crisis -- in fact, they are just re-inflating the system as Bush did and trying to push the problem a few more years in the future.
This was 30 years in the making, and it cannot be solved until it is an emergency, and morons are screaming for whatever public works project and green stamps they can get, rather than marching against government spending -- when they didn't do it when the government was spending on tax breaks and wars.
The stupid will have to be bled out of our system through pain and suffering -- we have lost the ability to correct our system. We can't even prosecute anyone wealthy, or in power anymore. - WasabiBomb, on 11/04/2009, -4/+20'Cause it doesn't matter why he did it. Actors change their names all the time. I'm sure you could *try* to extrapolate some sort of racial shame on his part, but it'd be just you.
- Mujokan, on 11/04/2009, -1/+17There's not any need to speculate, really. They did exit polls and about 60% said Obama had nothing to do with their vote.

- lolerskate, on 11/04/2009, -3/+18Yes ghengis i read...i read the crap you post, and excuse me for making a few typos not all of us have english as a first language, douche.
- sadflkjijj, on 11/04/2009, -3/+17Right, he has attacked conservatives since they were in office, just as he now frequently attacks the Obama administration for its incompetence. Clearly you do not watch the show.
So a comedian on comedy central is the chief propagandist for Obama? Make up your mind: he can't be both an insignificant jokester and a big scary socialist. - Mship, on 11/05/2009, -1/+15If you think what he is saying is so wrong why dont you come up with intelligent fact based counter arguments instead of childish name calling. Your true colors show when you make statement about someone that could be seen as very hateful fear mongering.
- hughesw2, on 11/04/2009, -2/+16@randyzaia
either that or the voters of virginia decided to pick a governor for their state and they picked the guy who they thought would be a better governor and national issues didn't really factor into it. most likely though, yeah, they were proxy voting against nancy pelosi. - nicc, on 11/05/2009, -0/+13@randyzaia:
clearly you arent from Virginia.
fact 1: Virginia always votes in a Governor who is the opposite party of the White House.
fact 2: Obama has a higher approval rating in Virginia today than he had on election day last year.
fact 3: Deeds was so bad he couldn't even carry traditionally strong Democrat regions of the state.
fact 4: Deeds ran a 100% negative campaign and voters don't like that.
fact 5: exit polls show that the Virginia race was not a referendum against Obama/Dems - VitriolAndAngst, on 11/04/2009, -2/+13He wasn't so funny, as much as it was holding up a mirror to the bat sh!t crazy that passes for a Republican.
- numberneal, on 11/04/2009, -1/+12expose those crack pipin' ho swindlers
- DrKnowitall, on 11/04/2009, -0/+9Either way there was going to be a big deal made out of nothing. News can't just be the news anymore. It has to be exciting, life threatening, edge-of-your-seat, shock and awe with controversial opinions thrown around and no one setting the facts straight.Facts are boring and they need to get to the next story before everyone's A.D.D. kicks in.
- TheEggAndI, on 11/04/2009, -1/+10you clearly didnt see his interview with david plouffe last night (i think?)
- Hetman, on 11/04/2009, -7/+16He has attacked conservative since 2001. He is still doing this. He is a liberal. Oh yea and besides that he is a comedian on comedy central. Jeff Durnham has a show on comedy central. He is basically your typic bigot perhaps you should check him out.
- QQMore, on 11/04/2009, -6/+15Well then there's the problem: You tried to think. That's always a recipe for failure.
- Mujokan, on 11/04/2009, -2/+11Yes well Republicans won the votes, so there are plenty of Republicans who don't mind Obama even though he's being put forward as a combination of Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Nickleback by most popular right-wing pundits -- which I think would have led many people to diss him at any opportunity.
- 10lbhammer, on 11/04/2009, -2/+10you're right, because none of the other candidates promised to fix the economy, iraq and afghanistan. none of them... wait, they all did? they all promised that?? you mean zoomakabu is just railing against obama because he's obama?
I would really love to see you try to fix all those problems in less than a year. you would fail. - Hetman, on 11/04/2009, -2/+10I am saying he is a liberal he is for the majority going to attack conservatives regadless if they are in office or not. His demographic is 18-27 year old liberals. He is not going to change that. It is his breed and butter. At least he treats his show for what it is a comedy show. He actually calls it a fake new show. He does not call it fair and balanced.
- scyphozoa, on 11/05/2009, -0/+8this really was some of the best work i've seen on the daily show in a while. great writing and delivery!
- sonnybobiche, on 11/04/2009, -4/+1223rd District went to the Owens because Scozzafava's name was still on the ballot and had an (R) next to it. She managed to get 6% of the vote even though she had officially withdrawn from the race. Oh and she backed the Owens when she withdrew.
Hoffman lost by 3%. - VitriolAndAngst, on 11/04/2009, -1/+8Dunham's audience also needs someone's hand up their backside so that they can move their lips -- the audiences are not similar at all.
- giveer, on 11/04/2009, -4/+11I think you're letting your puckered anus stand in the way of your comedy viewing. Now run along and be divisive elsewhere.
- EricSchC1, on 11/04/2009, -1/+8"This was 30 years in the making"
Agreed with you on nearly everything but this...its 80 years in the making...the owning of our government by entities other than the nation's people started at least with the Depression, if not earlier. - QQMore, on 11/05/2009, -4/+9Cry more. You got burned.
- airwalke, on 11/04/2009, -2/+7@ randyzaia
The 40% was evenly split by those who said their vote was in support of Obama's performance, and those who voted as a prote. Need any more proof that this is a non-issue? - DrKnowitall, on 11/04/2009, -1/+6Not to mention the low outcome in these elections. You all know who tends to come out less, especially in these elections. Then there's the type that will show up at any opportunity to snub their sworn mortal enemy.
- TheCollective00, on 11/04/2009, -4/+9You mean the dropping of the president's approval rating matches the dropping of the value of the dollar, the dropping of available capital within the economy, the failing economy itself, and the rising of the death toll in our two wars, climate change, home foreclosures and bankruptcy, ALL of which are problems that were there before he came into office, and were in the making for the last 8 years? NO WAI!!!!
- olderone, on 11/04/2009, -2/+7I acquire such keen political insight?
- Giac, on 11/04/2009, -0/+5AND BEYOND!
- rossnyc, on 11/04/2009, -1/+6Ok, now I'll disagree with your thought by possibly suggesting you are a loser all the while injecting a half-witted argument to give myself some validation.
- bryantee, on 11/04/2009, -1/+6just go to thedailyshow.com. Every show is available streaming for free. Ever.
- BShack85, on 11/05/2009, -1/+6I think the Republican party lost all hope of doing anything close to winning in next years election when they went "pro-STFU rape victims".
- Vaiper, on 11/05/2009, -0/+5Who is your shepherd? Please don't say Jesus.
- mochaman, on 11/05/2009, -0/+5CNN's IQ continues to deteriorate, good thing I don't pay for cable anymore, otherwise I would demand my money back from TimeWarner.
- sulthernao, on 11/05/2009, -2/+7And the fact that the Democrat was against the public option, and a lot of other Obama positions (aka running away from Obama). Thus clearly his loss was a referendum is on Obama, clearly.
- EricSchC1, on 11/05/2009, -2/+7"It's what voters do. They reward success and punish failure."
Since when? The vote of any individual means nothing to anyone other than the person who cast it and the person who benefits from it. Your statement presumes a lot regarding what the average voter knows about ethics and logic, versus which candidate du jour happens to give them the warm fuzzies. - TalentedMoron, on 11/05/2009, -0/+5Having no reasonable argument and just nagging like a hungry baby is not a good way to make your case. And BTW, not to be picky but it's MRI not MIR . . .
- Bookant, on 11/05/2009, -0/+4Just like Republicans and conservatives were singing a different tune in 2001, when they swore up and down that these very same elections had nothing whatsoever to do with Bush or national politics.
- TheCollective00, on 11/04/2009, -4/+8The only thing Jon Stewart has completely nailed is your mother.
