Financial institutions are "designated as financial agents of the Government." This is the New Deal to end all New Deals.
Then there's this: "Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency." Translation: the Secretary can buy up whatever junk debt he wants to, burden the American people with it, and be subject to no one in the process.
There goes your country." - Sandiec99, on 10/06/2008, -0/+26He speaks the truth - wake up America . . .
- Striker101, on 10/06/2008, -0/+20Watching Wall Street plunge, still early DOW 9912 and -412

More like government of self-interest and self-preservation at ANY and ALL costs, REGARDLESS of the best interests of its people.
- inactive, on 10/06/2008, -0/+17Well Comrades, we gave it a good shot, but our "elected" officials decided they need the lobby money instead.
- inactive, on 10/06/2008, -0/+11This financial bailout could lead quickly to martial law, WWIII, civil war, revolution, anarchy, or any number of other possibilities too horrible to mention here.
There's no need for an election. - sheeplescareme, on 10/06/2008, -0/+11i read and share, striker. dow is at 9900 now, the s&p has dropped by more than 5%, and nasdaq has tumbled by 6%. i'm losing what little i hadn't protected carefully and was still playing with ( most likely, anyway) so i can't even be bothered to keep both eyes on it today. things are not looking good. markets are going nuts everywhere-heck latin america just dropped by 15% and they're floating the idea of a rate cut!
- Truzseeker, on 10/06/2008, -1/+8already posted a story that 7 million Americans died from the last great depression...what will it take before people wake up and know that there is nothing left to live for ???
- inactive, on 10/06/2008, -0/+5Today the Fed promised banks another 900 to ride out the next three months.
If my calculations are right, between the Fed and Treasury, between new money and new debt, the government and the Fed have regurgitated something over two and a half trillion dollars in the last month

Martial law? Too many guns on the street. The first time in history criminals and law abiding citizens ban together for America, including ex-military
WWIII? Already upon us. Reference India, and with a weak Obama, in a city near you VERY soon
Civil war, revolution, anarchy? Any one of the three would be fine. We need to reestablish a government BY and FOR the PEOPLE
