- robotfuel, on 11/21/2007, -2/+6Great lecture. I wish people in this country would be more interested in civics, politics and economics so we could take back our country.
- preauxx, on 11/27/2007, -1/+4Enlightening and frightening.
"So this is how democracy dies .... with thunderous applause" ... [/padme] - kalosaurusrex, on 12/04/2007, -2/+3Why isn't this dugg more? How come no one cares?

No, seriously.
As Naomi talks about, civics, politics and economics are no longer really taught to the people. The net result is that there are very few that can critically analyze what is going on and make intelligent observations. Naomi herself admits that she didn't realize the state of affairs until someone else showed her the way after repeated warnings.
Our current politicians and media have distorted reality so much so that when someone like Ron Paul suggests simple, core fundamental principles designed to PREVENT fascism (the constitution) are the answer to many of our troubles, many people immediately regard that individual as crazy.
Because they lack the skills to understand the big picture, they unfortunately end up spending their time fighting against the wrong side -- the one guy who's trying to limit the power of the government before it is too late.

- bullcutter, on 12/05/2007, -3/+2Please someone explain to me: what's so fascinating about a mediocre writer who makes a living preaching the impending destruction of her own country, the place where she is amassing her wealth?
- Thanehand, on 12/19/2007, -1/+3Because she still can.
I see. You'd rather she not say anything and welcome the state with open arms.
She's not talking about the destruction of her own country. She's talking about the destruction of the liberties and freedoms that make this country great. The country will still exist, you just won't have the freedom to open your mouth like you do now.- bullcutter, on 12/31/2007, -0/+1pffft.... um, wouldn't fascism firstly affect people like Wolfe? What she's talking about is making America sound evil and bad because she knows there are people foaming at the mouth to pay money for confirmation of this sentiment. she's a soul-less scam artist / whore.
