- mmirales, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Apparently the students were trying to rush the stage. If the police hadn't been there to prevent that, who know what would have happened to Mr. Simcox. These students are allowed to exercise their freedom of speech but they are not allowed to injure other American citizens. It's likely there would have been some injuries to Mr. Simcox.
By the way, the digg says students are more LIKELY to be violent then enlightened. It does not say that they were violent that they went around throwing punches, but it does imply there was trouble at the speech. Watch the Video woai.com and see how the students are acting, does pushing past a police officer mean they are exercising their freedom of speech? No. They can stay a comfortable distance away from the stage and voice their opinion the same. By trying to push past a line of police officers it's likely they are trying to hurt someone behind that line.
