- joedennis, on 09/05/2009, -40/+513John Harwood is now a hero of mine, like the very cool guy recently in the baseball cap giving an interview who said all the true things about the right wing I want to say but chicken-***** out. the stupid people Harwood refers to are the same people marginalizing our President-BECAUSE HE IS BLACK. Just come out and say it, racist ignorant people who are destroying this country. Let's get back the enthusiasm that put Obama(an AMERICAN CITIZEN, and one of the smartest) in the Presidency. Take back the country from the stupid people Mr. Harwood so bravely calls out. Mr. President, you have your part-please lead and respect your base that put you there.
- cdtoad, on 09/06/2009, -15/+336YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID!
- ed3839, on 09/06/2009, -8/+317Think about how stupid the average person is. Then realize that half of everyone is stupider than that.
- Bigballa5412, on 09/06/2009, -16/+306Obama wants to tell my kid to stay in school? Well if that illegal is saying it, its time to pull Jimmy out of school and have him work the fields!
Irrationality forever!
/s - rjc5056, on 09/06/2009, -12/+252Well, it had to be said.
- wigren, on 09/06/2009, -7/+234If Democrats had chosen to keep their children home from a Bush speech, they would have been derided as un-american. But it's OK to keep kids home from an Obama speech. After all, he's a socialist.
- denizen42, on 09/06/2009, -13/+231Amazing just how 'the right' is acting crazy these days.
- ebolaworld, on 09/06/2009, -11/+191 A lot of stupid people = A lot of Palin voters
- dissolutionman, on 09/06/2009, -8/+179Funny thing is, these are the same people who let their preachers brainwash their kids into hating gays and atheists.
But no, we can't be having the President telling kids to stay in school. Bad. Bad, bad, bad. - Decimit, on 09/06/2009, -1/+132Is he still the anti-christ too? I can't keep up anymore.
- fxu1989, on 09/06/2009, -1/+121And a muslim.

Seriously, if the next generation would be smarter, then life would be a lot better. - charm803, on 09/06/2009, -10/+128John Harwood is a magna cum laude graduate of Duke University.
Compare that to how most of the people freaking out hardly have a degree from even just a community college.
If Obama, the President of the United States, wants to tell my kids to work hard and stay in school, someone who graduated top of his class, I would not have a problem with it. - lolerskate, on 09/06/2009, -1/+108He also Hitler.
- richirwin, on 09/06/2009, -10/+111Stupid people indeed.
- Azdak, on 09/06/2009, -13/+110it's a shame stuff like this doesn't get more airtime on a real news publication as opposed to these leftie rags that are only preaching to the choir.
- qazws, on 09/06/2009, -20/+116G.O.P equals idiocracy
- waluigi14, on 09/06/2009, -1/+89The entire Hitler?
- ed3839, on 09/06/2009, -5/+87So telling the states who they're allowed to let get married, like the Republicans want to do, that's not against the Constitution at all? No, of course not... ***** hypocrites, every last one of you.
- perogi21, on 09/06/2009, -1/+79No just the bad parts of Hitler.
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 09/06/2009, -1/+77Don't forget mustard elitist.
- NinjaGod, on 09/06/2009, -1/+77He's also black.
- MoneyShot, on 09/06/2009, -7/+81Wow... I was going to write you off as a one-off troll but I see that you've been a digger for three years and posting comments like this seems to be a full-time hobby of yours. Kudos, sir. Kudos. It's always amusing to read viewpoints like yours, so I invite you to continue. I just kindly request that you abstain from voting.

- txballer, on 09/06/2009, -3/+67...and this is why fox "news" is still in business.
- Nintendesert, on 09/06/2009, -1/+63How can he be illegal? He's not even Mexican.
- MidnightSnack, on 09/06/2009, -4/+64LOL.. No one really knows how to respond to this Stay-in-School Speech backlash.. It's so ridiculous you can't sugarcoat your response.
- graphictruth, on 09/05/2009, -12/+71I just gotta go embed this video in a blog post. I wonder if there's an "extra sharp corners" option?
- hoghug, on 09/06/2009, -8/+65I'm thinking around tuesday or so we'll be seeing a Fox & Friends/ Hannity/ Limbaugh trifecta of the president needs to refute this or else...: "Obama thinks republicans are too stupid to raise children!" Which will naturally evolve into the mouth-breathing protester sign: "Obama you cant take away my babbys!" (sic)
- Decimit, on 09/06/2009, -1/+57As soon as they start doing smart things they might get called something else.
- cride11, on 09/06/2009, -4/+58I would not go as far as to say that everyone that disagrees with President Obama is a racist, but I do think a good percentage of them are. I only say that because of the vile rhetoric some use when talking about him. I could be wrong, but I can't even imagine a scenario where people would attack a white president in the fashion they do our current one. Bush was attacked ferociously and still it was not on the same level as Obama's detractors do him.
- inactive, on 09/06/2009, -5/+56Yeah..I'm really confused about it myself. It literally boggles my mind more than most idiot conservative *****. Just when you think they have hit rock bottom, they manage to break all records and discover yet a new level of stupidity. Conservatives are like the Christopher Columbus of stupidity, discovering whole new continents of it even when the rest of the world though it was impossible to do. They might as well rename the party the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria to symbolize this quest they are on to shock the nation with profound ignorance.
My daughter isn't old enough to be in school yet, but, if a Harvard law professor, someone who beat all the odds to become president, wants to talk to my kid about the importance of working hard in school, I'd be an idiot to pass that up, even if I didn't agree with Obama's policies. I'd even be happy if it were Bush. At least then I know the president cares about education. That is a way better guest speaker than I usually had in school. The only ones I actually remember were the drug addicts they trotted out. - sfgeek, on 09/06/2009, -7/+58'Obama is a Socialist' is just their code for 'Obama is just another damn Ni**er.'
- AngryDeuce, on 09/06/2009, -11/+60John Harwood is my new personal hero. Thank Christ someone actually said what most of us have been thinking all along...
C'mon, we all know it's true. The fanatical right is a bunch of lunatics... - RobMackenzie, on 09/06/2009, -8/+57Did you just call a group of people stupid for calling another group "stupid"??? Seriously? And you can use a computer?
- montekozell, on 09/06/2009, -1/+49he middle name is hussein
- Decimit, on 09/06/2009, -3/+50@kaptainsteve
You might want to watch the video again. I think he was talking to you. - eugenetabisco, on 09/06/2009, -4/+50Obama was not in office -- attempting to clean up Bush's ***** -- for a mere two months before "Tea Parties" started, before people were taking their cue from Fox and Limbaugh about "wanting their country back", before Hannity would say things like "This isn't the America I grew up in". These are racially motivated screams from people that hate seeing a black man as their leader. And the media on the right are playing into that very hatred. They fan the flames like a KKK cross.
bamw69 -- you are an ignorant *****. The country was ruined by "conservative morons" like you before Obama even took over. As a matter of fact, it's because the conservatives ***** it up SO MUCH that the country was finally willing to make the most radical change in its history -- elect a black man president. You're welcome! - mcdoogles34, on 09/06/2009, -18/+63I can't wait to see O'Reilly's response to this...
- Bigballa5412, on 09/06/2009, -2/+47the /s at the bottom denotes the sarcasm.
- 9ballsnap, on 09/06/2009, -7/+49This whole thing is ridiculous and way overblown by the right-wing nuts. Several previous presidents democrat and republican have addressed school children, lets not forget where Bush was during 911, PHYSICALLY IN A SCHOOL addressing children. I was no fan of Bush, I call myself democrat, but if I was told the president was going to pay a visit to my school, I would be thrilled even if it was Bush. I certainly wouldn't have any problems with him addressing the school population with a positive message regardless of his political affiliation. And for those who are afraid Oboma might delve into something deeper, the speech that he's giving will be available for parents to look at online the day before the speech occurs. The bottom line is, he's the president, and wether you voted for him or not, he is our commander and cheif and to go on like this about him is un-american, he won the presidency because the majority of Americans were behind him, this is how that kind of thing works, you know, an election. So you lost Republicans, get over it and get on with life with hopes you'll win the next election, this is what America is all about. Instead it seems many of you are acting like little cry-baby soar-losers and will do anything to vehemently oppose and trash Oboma no matter what it is he's doing. I'm sure if he was going to take a trip to the streets to start single handedly saving homeless people by getting them homes, you all would find a way to spin that into something "evil" as well. Quite frankly, it makes you all look like desperate, clueless idiots, hence, John Harwoods message above...
- Revovisionary, on 09/06/2009, -1/+41***** O'Reilly
- Speed, on 09/06/2009, -6/+46I admit that I didn't follow US politics as heavily before 9/11, but I don't think Bush reading to kids was controversial, or Bush Sr. or Reagan talking to kids. Even so, I doubt Democrats would be encouraging kids to skip school.
- VogonPoet, on 09/06/2009, -4/+40Yeah, it would suck if he argued the moral correctness of tax breaks to kids like Reagan did.
- skinturtle, on 09/06/2009, -5/+41Wasn't it Bush who made the statement the constution was just a ****ing piece of paper? A why is the constitution so important to the Republicans now? It certainly wasn't taken too seriously when Bush Co. wanted to doi the things he wanted.
Here's the selfishness and hypocrisy of the GOP and their voters...they supported George's war but didn't want to sign their kids up to go to fight. Now that someone is trying to get some kind of health care happening for people who are struggling just to be well and can't afford it(in a very rich country I might add) like most other countries in the world....they don't want to co-operate....oh because it will raise taxes. Boo Hoo....take care and help each other out you greedy minded twits!
The repugnantcans call themselves such a Christian and conservative bunch yet they are the most violent minded and greediest of them all.... it's sickening. God will strike them down more than anything. - nysus, on 09/06/2009, -16/+51Hey, South, secede already. Get the ***** out of MY country!!!
- cyrix, on 09/06/2009, -3/+38And what view would you have them hold then lemonadesorbet? If you condemn "liberals" then I assume you think we should all hold conservative views?
The fact that we have different views is a good thing, and I respect that. It keeps us all in check by making sure we look at different political views and different solutions to the problems our country faces. Subscribing to only one ideology would be the death of our country and any other country. It's fine to disagree, but to say one side is flat out wrong is ***** retarded. This us or them mentality is ***** and I'm sick of it. -
