- rz8472, on 11/07/2007, -8/+100Please digg this up. People need to know what happens when those who try to preserve the rule of law face the Bush Administration, and its not pretty.
- losman, on 11/07/2007, -5/+87Wow, Keith is pissed and that is what this country needs most....an angry journalist
- iburl, on 11/07/2007, -10/+92IMPEACH. IMPEACH. IMPEACH.
CHENEY. BUSH. PELOSI.
(If Nancy Pelosi knew about and approved torture, then she has to go too.) - inactive, on 11/09/2007, -3/+55Anyone who tries to justify or dismiss the Bush Administration's actions involving torture is a traitor. Anyone who ignores it is a fool.
- RealSurreal, on 11/07/2007, -7/+46Keith your man, thank you for giving some Americans who watch your show some real perspective.... Thank You!!!
- AshamedAmerican, on 11/06/2007, -3/+40Standard procedure for the Bush Administration, this kind of thing should no longer surprise anyone.
Does anyone else feel like we read something along these lines literally every day? Anyone? - hiphoc, on 11/09/2007, -4/+39These people up on the hill have access to info we dont. If what we know is that bad, what are they hiding. Its been admitted that the majority of videos and pictures from Abu Gahrib were hidden and viewed in a secret session. Release the ***** hard drives. So yea, this is now criminal cover up of war crimes. Good going Pelosi. We thought that since you were a mom and a grandmom you would see the need to protect peoples kids and grand kids from this Meat Grinder in Iraq. But no, you career as the 1st house speaker means more. You are a whore with blood on your hands, so is Feinstein, Chuck Schumer, Allen "The magic bullet" Specter. They pretend to want to stop this then at the last second give in to Bush. They are two wings of the same ***** vulture. A lot of people in this country are getting pissed. These politicians just dont give a ***** how many people lose homes, jobs or lives. Drop rates bail out the banks, pay the contractors, pay Blackwater mercs, do AIPAC's bidding, more free trade to a torturing poisoning commie country called China and ***** the American citizen.
All of this is being run by the Fed to prop up the dollar by the point of a gun. Guy Fawkes where are you when we need you. - mrjit, on 11/09/2007, -3/+35Has Olbermann always been this firebrand? Or is this a recent change? He's great.
- AlphaMack, on 09/26/2008, -5/+36His best yet. Sadly, he is still preaching to the choir.
- chijim70, on 11/07/2007, -1/+29She has not tried to impeach them therefore she endorses it. PERIOD!
Get a clue... Dem and Rep are the same animals. More evident now than ever. - hiphoc, on 11/10/2007, -5/+29Also google Janet Karpinski. She was the General in charge of Abu Gahrib. See what she says about the CIA's involvement in the torture. And how when she tried to inspect certain parts of the jail, men in "plain clothes" commanded her to leave or they would have her busted down in rank. Does the CIA hire demon possessed people to work for them? I mean really, does one literally have to grow horns and a tail before they get sent out on a mission? What do you have to prove that you are a good torturer at the CIA?
- inactive, on 11/10/2007, -1/+23impeach, prosecute, jail them!~ After all they send you to Jail for having a refer..
- mrjit, on 11/11/2007, -1/+21Uh. Uh. Uh. It's a news anchors "Special Comment," - are you in the right thread?
- tapeman11, on 11/10/2007, -3/+22Please dig up up UP!!! IMPEACHMENT MUST OCCUR!!!
- OsakaWilson, on 11/11/2007, -1/+20Are you suggesting that is an Olberman impersonator?
- inactive, on 11/10/2007, -1/+19I'm much more concerned about what happens after he's out of office than necessarily how he leaves or what they do with him, but just for kicks, I'd love to see him thrown in prison. I think it would make a better ending in the eventual movies that get made about all this *****.
- sharpfork, on 11/08/2007, -2/+20When they added the "auto-bury" function to your right wing robot brain they removed all critical thinking skills in the process.
- Sarevok9, on 11/06/2007, -1/+19I agree that stories like this need to get out, but our government, and the citizens are sitting on their hands, watching; awestruck no less.... When speaking out against your own government is a crime, can you really claim its still a democracy?
- Bhima, on 11/06/2007, -0/+18He's been working up to this.
- OsakaWilson, on 11/06/2007, -0/+17He's been like this for a while, but he is in top form.
- chijim70, on 11/06/2007, -1/+17This is not a democracy. It is a corporatist fsscist regime. The odd thing is that it may (I really hope) be able to be turned back into something we recognizeb within the next election. If the constitution of the US that I swear and have swore when joining the military when I was younger is not upheld... yeah... I will fight and die for that constitution even domestically.
- BlacklabelSAR, on 11/10/2007, -1/+16Impeached? How about tried for war crimes? The entire Administration. Now that would be patriotic!
- inactive, on 11/06/2007, -1/+15I've watched him for years and I genuinely appreciate Keith's special comments. But as someone said above, unfortunately he's preaching to the choir. It seems that no matter what we do as a country nothing changes. When will this kind of passion yield results? When will these actions matter?
- EarlOfLade, on 11/10/2007, -1/+14Where is a Pulitzer Prize when you need one?
- Tuto, on 11/10/2007, -1/+14I seriously respect this guy. He knows what he is talking about which is pretty unusual in mainstream media.
- inactive, on 11/06/2007, -0/+11See: Limbaugh
- LouisEdith, on 11/06/2007, -2/+14Keith Olbermann is the best news show on television - bar none! You can hear a story on the MSM, but Keith usually offer different dimensions of a story - the real side....as though it wasn't written for public consumption. My wife and I often say, "At least Keith will be in the camp with us, and it won't be boring" :) We need more real journalist like him - Keith's got real balls, and he is a true patriot - history will be kind to him.
- Waiting2awake, on 11/06/2007, -2/+13Actually, he is quite to the right of the real political spectrum. It is just that Americans are only ever given a narrow veiw consisting of extreme right, and vastly extreme right - it only appears that someone is "leftists" when they speak outside of those two opinions.
- mattewood, on 11/06/2007, -2/+13ramiro is buried too. lol
Well said Olbermann.. it's about time people start getting MAD. - chijim70, on 11/06/2007, -1/+12Because in a fascist country your common man (sports reporter or any other occupation) could not have a valid opinion.
/sarcasm - meed, on 11/06/2007, -1/+12I can't believe it has taken this long for anyone in the media to tell the truth about Bush. Torture will just the tip of the iceburg.
In all honestly, Impeaching bush won't work. After Bush is impeached, Cheney will take office and pardon him like Ford pardoned Nixon. Cheney needs to be impeached first and then Bush, and hope that Bush doesn't do what to the USA as what has just happend in Pakistan, to keep his power. - Logicexe, on 11/06/2007, -0/+11Sometimes you have to preach to the choir. It keeps them informed so they spread their thoughts and feelings to their friends and family. Keith's special comments always garner a lot of attention, this is how the choir grows. Whether or not these comments make any significant difference but growing the choir and keeping it informed is not always useless.
- RST1123, on 11/10/2007, -1/+125th of November Speech
- sapped, on 11/07/2007, -0/+11I used to not be part of the choir. Then the choir kept putting Countdown segments on Digg and I watched a couple of them. Now I don't miss a single evening because I want to stay informed. Thus by actions similar to what we are doing here, the choir has already grown by 1.
- hipnerd, on 11/07/2007, -0/+10Not to invoke Godwin, but Hitler was elected, too. So was Hugo Chavez. Elections in and of themselves are not protection against fascism.
- humanerror, on 04/03/2008, -0/+9Here's a link to a higher-quality version, by the way:

The US tiny world has not changed that much in the past 50 years. - Me1000, on 11/08/2007, -0/+8it is impossible to remove what was never there!
- Waiting2awake, on 11/06/2007, -0/+8When there is actual action instead of phsudo-action. I appreciate the protests, and can really see that many Americans do care - but clearly the Admin will do what it wants and damn to the country's wants. When will it change? When the Americans decide that it is THEIR country and not the politicians.
For what it is worth, over the radio they were discussing the dollar(Canadian Vs the US) and it is being estimated that it will reach 1.12 by the end of the year. At the beginning of the year, it was what? 0.89? That would be great for your manufacturing sector, if you hadn't overshored them to china... - jazzjeff, on 11/06/2007, -1/+8I genuinely honestly NEVER EVER thought that I would see the day when an American president would so brazenly and so openly, use torture techniques on those they held behind bars. America has really, really sunk to a new low.
No wonder America is now the most hated country in the world.
Americans can no longer hold their heads up high anywhere in the world and be proud to say they are from an humanitarian country.
Its going to take decades of reversing and groveling to the rest of the world, to even try and regain anything of the moral superiority USA once had.
America, land of the proud and of the free???
Dream on...
An Iraqi major general, among others, was tortured to death by his American captors. Dozens of prisoners at Abu Ghraib were sexually humiliated and tormented. Unknown numbers were held in secret C.I.A. prisons in Europe and sent to countries that routinely torture, in what was blandly called “extraordinary rendition.”
In the C.I.A. prisons, men were subjected to waterboarding, a form of simulated drowning. At the prison in Guantánamo Bay, men had to endure extreme heat and cold, unrelenting loud music, sleep deprivation, forced nakedness and “stress positions.” All this has been justified by President Bush as necessary for the effective interrogation of prisoners, to find out dangerous terrorist plans. But prisoners who are mistreated to make them talk give unreliable information, as experts on interrogation know. They will say anything to make the pain stop.
O' how Americans can hold their heads (NOT) up high and proud because of Bush and his war criminal gang.
Shame, shame, shame...
Biggins: http://exposed.forumarena.com - kamiryuu, on 11/06/2007, -0/+7Imagine just how much goes on that the public doesn't know about.
I think things are going to get much much worse before they (hopefully) get better.
I'm glad I live on an island far away... - TheZorch, on 11/06/2007, -0/+7Its because he actually GIVES A DAMN! He's the best journalist on TV. I hardly ever watch TV unless its Countdown.
- Herostratus, on 11/06/2007, -0/+7Lets start with waterboarding you. I want to know who you are working for saying such subversive things that discredit the good names of Americans. You sir are a traitor and need to be severely interrogated so we can find out who you are working with to subvert the constitution!
- Amazetbm, on 11/06/2007, -0/+7Actually, we need voters who don't suffer from the ostridge syndrome.
- Hetman, on 11/10/2007, -0/+6I saw this last night it was good. If GwB new that people were being tortured or he authorized it he should face the consequences. It is a crime to torture people. I think the problem is that there is no concrete evidence that he was aware of people being tortured. "And if their is he should be forced to face his crime."
- bjornski, on 11/06/2007, -1/+7And again. This link was referred over a month ago, and it's older yet (I just didn't want to submit another dupe) http://www.digg.com/political_opinion/Naomi_Wolf_T ...
Re-read this with the incidents of Burma and Pakistan fresh in mind.
Tell EVERYBODY you know to watch for these signs.
PAY ***** ATTENTION!
The article is from April, and I"m sure I"ll get the typical "it's old" *****, but becomes more and more relevant every passing day. - AshamedAmerican, on 11/08/2007, -2/+7blasted double post. apologies!
- Vinadetta, on 11/10/2007, -1/+6IMPEACH!!!! This administration needs to come to a rapid Stop right now!!!! This country has been destroyed by these criminals in office!! It is time to restore the Constitutional Republic back to the people, and out of these Fascist Hands
- bemenaker, on 11/06/2007, -0/+5Won't happen, noone has the balls. Well, almost noone, look at the candidate field. The only ones with balls are shunned by the media. Dr. Paul, D. Kucinich, M. Gavel, B Richardson.
