- lordblue, on 07/02/2008, -7/+147We need as many people, and as many world leaders to read this as possible. More world leaders need to encourage America to change it's ways, more American citizens need to contact their leaders, both local and federal and express the feelings on what needs to be done. Help is needed from within and without, otherwise I fear for all the world.
- ChesapeakeBaybe, on 07/02/2008, -6/+140I often fear the masses won't catch on to Dr. Paul's sage-like message until it's too late. Continue to spread the word.
- kemp34, on 07/02/2008, -5/+127Huge warnings have come in recent days from the Royal Bank of Scotland, the Chinese government, Fortis Bank, the IMF and the Bank of International Settlements. Adding the good word of Ron Paul to that list only makes it that much more clear that the rest of this summer could be truly full of fireworks of some sort. Protect yourself and your family. Spread the word of freedom, peace, self-responsibility and free association in order to solve the problems we face. Liberty must be given a chance if we wish to conquer the challenges that face our country right this moment. Please do not stand idly by.

- kanvas, on 07/02/2008, -3/+111Remember how, when he talked about this during the debates, those other tools (Romney, Giuliani) ridiculed him?

- iupetre, on 07/02/2008, -1/+79Whether or not you agree(ed) with Paul in his past speeches and debates, you will believe him when problems of this economy become unbearable. When you realize we are headed for a depression, then you say "What should we do?"
Remember what you could have done. - StingingNettle, on 07/02/2008, -1/+71"*** What the candidates will never tell you…
As we keep saying, democracy is fine, as long as you don't take it seriously. The candidates for the White House job are eager to show voters that they are patriotic, religious and right-thinking men. What they don't want to do is trouble the voters with real problems.
What kind of problems?
In our view, there are three major challenges facing the United States.
1) The country is going broke.
2) The military is out of control.
3) Standards of living are falling.
What? You haven't heard the Democrats mention these things? How about the Republicans? Nope…?" from: http://www.dailyreckoning.com/Issues/2008/DR070208 ...
Ron Paul is the only one talking about this stuff. LISTEN. - inactive, on 07/02/2008, -2/+69In response to economists who questioned debt based currency among other inventions of the early 20th century, John Maynard Keynes, in A Tract on Monetary Reform, ch. 3 (1923) said "Long run is a misleading guide to current affairs. In the long run we are all dead."
Well, that is true enough for him. He's been dead for sixty some years and has been made a saint by the faith in government crowd. But for those of us that are not yet dead, the long run has arrived and it is pretty dreadful.
In this statement, Dr. Paul has written the definitive answer to Keynesian BS. I hope that someone besides us libertarians reads it. - mport1, on 07/02/2008, -1/+62Wow! Amazing and right on target as usual. We are indeed in troubled times. We must educate the people to either prevent catastrophe or explain to them what caused it so we can restore liberty after the economic collapse.
- govsucks, on 07/02/2008, -11/+63But Obama is gonna GIVE everyone free health care and then he's going to feed everyone with only five loaves and two fish. /Sarcasm
Americans don't want freedom anymore. They want the government to take care of them from womb to tomb and then they want to complain that the government listens to their ***** phone calls. These collectivist (useful) idiots want the peoples dick in their ass and Obama is gonna strap it on and give it to them, err, along with the rest of us freedom lovers unfortunately....sigh - EvangelineLW, on 07/02/2008, -1/+52We need to listen and respect Ron Paul's words more now than ever. Look at oil and food prices, listen to the rhetoric about bombing Iran. Our government is out of control. The power hungry greedy neocons need to be held accountable for all their immoral actions. We are losing our middle class and our children are losing their future. Please people pay attention and listen to Dr. Paul. I am not a psycho. I am a mother of three who works hard and lives within her means.(which is another things Ron Paul tells us we need to do as a country!) We need to pay attention so our children can have opportunitIes that were always granted to our generation.

- Mainspring, on 07/03/2008, -0/+32Personal liberty cannot sustain itself without economic liberty; and capitalism cannot endure as an economic system if it does not first presume sound money and free markets.
Today, Americans have none of these things. The globalist criminal cabal has had the American people in its grip - just where it wants us to be.
The next order of business... is for them to scare the hell out of us... and then to put the deep hurt on us.
Many are destined to suffer and die; because, for this gang, the end justifies the means. And humanity must submit to their 'collective divine rights' as usurpers to the throne.
In order to survive what's ahead we'll have to roll with the punches and stay out of harm's way: This means we'll need to imagine a world without the king's money being even a bona fide medium of exchange for necessary goods and services. It means we should expect panic and overreaction from all quarters... as the king's brainwashed minions... deliberately bring to bear every conceivable onslaught... upon the enslaved masses.
Will we allow ourselves to be forced... into accepting their bankers' eventual solution... for finally ending the chaos... these bastards cunningly instigated from the get-go?
This is precisely the time when America can be won or lost... and individual freedom for you and those you care enough about to survive you... WILL be won or lost.
So, all hands on deck - 'don't give up the ship!' - the great battle has been joined! - amckalip, on 07/03/2008, -0/+31I am touched by Dr. Paul's courage, honesty, concern, and willingness to be frank with the American people. His words convey his love for freedom and for the principles on which our unique nation was founded. It is these principles which has led to so much American prosperity, ingenuity, and greatness, and have given millions of people the chance to achieve their dreams. I have Dr. Paul and this movement to thank for my own process of waking up over the last several months. I have always been concerned and uneasy about our nation's policies. I grew up in the seventies, hearing first about Vietnam. Later, the evening news was all about the oil crisis and the hostage crisis. Why was our country so embroiled in the middle east? It was half a world away. I could see twenty years ago when I was in college that the Social Security system was doomed and knew I would not be able to depend on it, but no politician was ever willing to address this. The national debt kept growing- and we were told "deficits don't matter." Why not? This defies common sense. And why was our country always going to war at the drop of a hat? Now, at last, I have begun to understand what is happening. It has been a LIFE-CHANGING experience. I have paid down debt and bought gold. I have woken up my husband and I am teaching my children the truth about their country. I am trying to gently wake up my relatives and friends. If only they could understand. We must make them. What the Fed and other central bankers have done to our money is a crime against humanity. When inflation leads to mass global starvation, I will lay the blame at their feet of these banksters. Our inept and cowardly politicians are also complicit; the intelligent ones have colluded with Wall Street, and the inept ones have failed us. I have nothing but contempt for Obama, McCain, and all the rest of the worthless bottom feeders who have sold our country and our children's future down the long, dark river of debt.
- juankovo, on 07/03/2008, -0/+30We have an unsustainable currency that's lost 60% of its value against other currencies since Bush took office, and 96% of its purchasing power since the creation of the Federal Reserve. The DJIA, for example, has to go up like 40 or 50 points a day just to offset currency losses. Our government and the Fed have propped up our economy time after time after time after time, and each time they intervene it means that when the market finally corrects it will be a harder fall. I have difficulty imagining a scenario in which the dollar does not collapse eventually the way our government is running things. Tax-and-spend Democrats plus print-and-spend Republicans equals toasted dollars.
No one wants the dollar to fail because everyone's so heavily invested it its continued existence, but at the same time everyone is getting out of the dollar as quietly as they can. Will the dollar collapse with a bang in 2 months or will it sputter and die over the course of the next 20 years? Who knows. But what I do know is that commodity prices are through the roof. In the last 5 years, gold and silver are up around 300%, consumer gasoline is up 275% (the national average just topped $4/gallon in June), foodstuffs are up XX%, etc. The thing is that prices have mostly increased in business-to-business transactions so far, such as the 25% price hike at Dow Chemical that followed a 20% hike in June. Companies that sell to consumers have mostly just swallowed price increases by decreasing their profit margins, but they can't swallow much more.
If OPEC decides that they've had enough and they start selling oil in euros or yuan or whatever instead of dollars, the de facto asset backing our currency will be gone, and *poof* there goes our dollar. Or, if China decides to unpeg their currency from ours, others will follow suit, and *poof* there goes our dollar. Or, wait 10 or 15 years for more Boomers to retire and start collecting SS and Medicare benefits, which Uncle Sam can only pay for by printing more dollars, and *fizzle* there goes our dollar. Or, Obama gets elected and we add another $250 billion in new socialistic programs to our government. *fizzle*
We have $50 trillion in unfunded liabilities sitting out there right now, and $9 trillion in current debt. You can't grow your economy out of a hole like that. Spending must be cut now or spending *will* be cut later. - richmomz, on 07/03/2008, -0/+30If only more people would stop and listen to this guy, we might actually have a chance to keep our country (and the world economy that depends upon it) from plunging into the economic abyss that looms near.

455 DIGGs and it is not popular / front page? - richmomz, on 07/03/2008, -0/+28Those debates illustrated precisely what the cause of our current problems are: the only guy in the room that understood what was going on was ridiculed and shunned by his clueless peers. Sadly, the clueless ones will end up holding the reigns of power in the end.
- Jimmyb207, on 07/03/2008, -0/+27America is poised to become the next 3rd world nation. How any government could be so incompetent with it's nations wealth and economy is beyond me. The people in charge of the U.S. Dollar, Allen greenspan and then Ben Bernanke aren't that stupid. They HAD to know what the result was going to be by constantly lowering the rate while at the same time pumping billions of dollars out of thin air to artificially keep the economy from flat lining. Like the saying goes....the dollar is now a dime a dozen. And then on top of it all it seems Afghanistan and Iraq were set up to be the colossal money drain. What will it be?? Trillions of dollars that went to the war of lies? I will be heating my house this winter with coal, home heating oil has become a luxury for the rich. Next I will be raising chickens in order to afford meat and eggs. 3rd world. Right now it's like Americans are walking around on the beach wondering where all the water went, no sense of alarm, just wondering. Meanwhile, a wall of water 100 feet high is coming in hard and fast.
- AndyWhite, on 07/03/2008, -0/+26I think Ron Paul's correct in his prediction that we will get central economic planning that will massively dwarf the New Deal programs. We are in so much trouble it is very ominous.

- juk3box, on 07/03/2008, -0/+23"This bubble is different and bigger for another reason. The central banks of the world secretly collude to centrally plan the world economy. I’m convinced that agreements among central banks to “monetize” U.S. debt these past 15 years have existed, although secretly and out of the reach of any oversight of anyone—especially the U.S. Congress that doesn’t care, or just flat doesn’t understand. As this “gift” to us comes to an end, our problems worsen."

Laws exist for any act of resistance to be punishable by law enforcement, and marshall law (military rule) is set to be enforced at the President’s mere utterance. This provides a simple mechanism to “remove” individuals who don’t like how things are run."
“Over 800 concentration camps are reported throughout the United States, all fully operational and ready to receive U.S. Prisoners who disagree with the government. The concentration camps are all staffed and manned by full-time guards, however, they are all empty. For me the recession started around the time of late 70's early 80's and trickle down economics, it has persisted that way since, except for a few years in mid 90's. For the last couple of years I have experienced real life threatening depression, and truly believe everyone has, but won't admit it. There ain't nutin' but people so down and out they have no breath to speak, or people building such extravagant wealth off the labor of those so breathless to even squeak; and the government standing by with the original 13th amendment clutched squarely, hidden in their claws, entitled to our liberty, our title. Dissolve!

- SaraLiberty, on 08/16/2008, -0/+16Ron Paul is a direct speaking, honest and highly intelligent man. Reminiscent of America's founding fathers and great visionaries like Jefferson, Adams or Washington. A RARITY in politics in these times of lying government traitors, massive manipulations and universal deceit. He doesn't need mind-numbing political double-speak, cheap, lowest common denominator soundbites, dumbed down topics and meaningless rhetoric like the rest use, to get his point across. Most educated idiot Americans are too stupid to see what a treasure this man is. He's too much for their limited tribal mindset. They don't 'get it', and would rather hear a simpleton puppet-on-strings McCain or Obama parroting meaningless sloganry, "feel good" bumfluffery, empty promises, PC-double speak, telling them "nice things" about 'change candidates' "hope" 'prosperity" "a 'safer world" "lower taxes" "for the children" ad nauseam so they can go back to watching Dancing With the Stars and swilling stale beer and let the government take care of everything so they don't have to lift a finger to get involved. Ron really is too intelligent for the average TV educated, knee-jerk American. They are too dumbed down, too brainwashed, media conditioned and TV-soundbite addled to realize true greatness on their own. They let the controlled media and their TV set talking pundits and "political commentators" choose their candidate instead of their conscience, which has since been drowned out in Britney Spears trivia, American Idol episodes, 8 pound Burger King meals, violent video game entertainment, cell phone gadgets and the quest for the latest expensive SUV with dashboard mounted DVD player and "big rims."
Ron Paul would put an end to all lobbies; American wealth and blood will not longer be for sale. Americas great Declaration of Independence would be renewed. New hope for the world. No more 'pre-emptive' war on lies and fabricated trickery. Americas Constitution and Bill of Rights would be RESTORED. Goodbye "PNAC" manifesto war profiteering fraud. Goodbye unconstitutional "Department of Homeland (in)Security sham, good riddance to the mockery of patriotism "PATRIOT ACT" and see you later CIA and spy bill legislation and wiretapping police state powers with a NSPD51 on the side, we no longer need you. We have a Constitution for a reason. With REAL leadership like Ron Paul, we wouldn't need a freedom extinguishing liberty destroying "PATRIOT ACT" at all. The Era of the Ugly American is fast coming to an end. He would stop the rampant Federal Reserve fraud that has a stranglehold on our monetary system. Ron Paul=Consistency, Integrity, Peace and Compassion, not because it's 'trendy' or "politically correct" and "everyone else is doing it" and it's convenient and "safe", not because of a federal handout, or selling America out to an "AIPAC" farce and pledging "unshakable support" to self-serving, Constitution subverting "special interests" and million dollar taxpayer funded giveaways to Pakistan's president or Egypt's military, but as an inevitable result of his honest political principles and integrity for the Constitution of the United States of America, respect for it's citizenry, we the people and our future. If this man was president we would truly see a return to greatness as a nation, as America was in the past and liked around the world. The rest of the carefully scripted, sold out, war fetishist, puppet traitors OWNED by greater masters and loyal "special interest" servants masquerading as "representatives of the people" (sure) wolves in sheep's clothing don't even come close.
