- phnx0221, on 01/05/2008, -0/+6Hm...normally I don't mind about the categorical separations pertaining to how articles are submitted here or elsewhere. However, I do think, that if we did have categories set for USA, Human Rights, and/or Civil Rights, we'd have a chance to see just how many articles there are on the topic, how many issues there are facing people all over the world, and facing the people who care so much about these issues.
I've become worried about trends of articles disappearing pertaining to these topics, here and elsewhere, and it worries me because this, right now, is such an important time in our political history. We need to be aware of the issues facing us, and we need to be able to learn and discuss these issues. So maybe having these categories set up would be a good idea in that regard... - mathaba, on 01/06/2008, -0/+4Good thoughts phnx0221. I just came accross this: http://www.nationalexpositor.com/index.php?news=73 ... which claims (perhaps even proves) that stories from certain sources ARE being censored by Digg.
- mathaba, on 01/05/2008, -1/+5Had a real hard time even figuring out where to put this! :-( Technology: Industry News? Security? Software? All do not seem right. World and Business: Political Opinion? Neither, but put it here anyway, as that seems the safe place to put things, so we can be relegated to the dustbin of those who are "political" and have "opinions".
- mathaba, on 01/05/2008, -1/+3Personally, i find the headline a little harsh. I don't think Digg carefully is guarding the status quo, there's a lot of good coverage of alternative medias in here. But I agree it would be great to get a better category sorted out for the U.S. and rights. What do others think?
- mathaba, on 01/06/2008, -0/+1Strange thing: When I click the tick for favorite, it takes me to a list of my favorites, which has currently only ONE item. It does not allow me to favorite this item. I had favorited it some days earlier, then removed it from favorites. Why can't I put it back? Is anyone else unable to favorite it?
- phnx0221, on 01/06/2008, -0/+1I ran a test on a random article in my favorites and it did the same thing. Maybe it's like the un-digg button next to articles you vote for. Once you un-favorite something, you can't favorite it again...?
- jollyspaniard, on 01/05/2008, -5/+2The kinds of discussions that this author is concerned about are all popular subjects here at Digg. At it's heart this is an empty argument and largely a nitpick about the Digg's categories that doesn't hold water. Buried.
