Shut up, Bill
shutupbill.com — Dear Bill, We loved Bill Clinton as president. I know you want your wife to win. A lot of us want a Democrat in 2008. But you're getting mean Bill. That twinkle in your eye is starting to look more like crazy eye. You're making accusations that Karl Rove & Co. will eat up and spit back out at us come time for the general election...

- blackmax23, on 01/22/2008, -9/+84Bill is getting a little rowdy. I imagine he'll back down a bit from now on. But he's taking the role of a vice presidential candidate in the primary campaign, attacking while Hillary takes the high road. I understand what he's doing, I just don't appreciate it.
- MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -1/+59Anyone see the democratic debate yesterday? I love that part when Obama said "sometimes I can't tell who I'm running against" in response to Bill's interference. That shut Hilary up... for a second.
- deanlowe, on 01/22/2008, -29/+4Are you saying they should take it easy on him just because he's black or because he speak so well??
This is for President of the United States not Class President of a junior high school.- Kedyn, on 01/22/2008, -0/+21You completely missed the point, didn't you?
- deanlowe, on 01/23/2008, -10/+1You don't have one.
- MarkOfTheDead, on 01/22/2008, -2/+8No, you *****. It means Bill Clinton sure has a lot of input for it being his WIFE'S campaign. I can't believe you even asked that.
- pegisys, on 01/22/2008, -0/+2People seems to see the Clinton's as a package deal.
- gameforge, on 01/23/2008, -1/+3Seriously, it's not like this has ever happened before - we've had all of 43 presidents, of those all but a handful are still alive today, and of that handful one of their sons is the current president, while the wife of another is running for president.
I hope I'm not the only one who's alarmed by this?
- gerran, on 01/22/2008, -1/+7Since you missed it: The point is that Hillary is hiding behind Bill. letting him do all the smack talk. No other candidate in the race (both Dem and Rep) has a talking head that follows them around speaking for them.
It's extremely poor form for Hillary to be using Bill like she is. If she wants to prove that she can handle the Presidential position, she needs be doing this campaign on her own and not using ol' hubby.
- Kedyn, on 01/22/2008, -0/+21You completely missed the point, didn't you?
- deanlowe, on 01/22/2008, -29/+4Are you saying they should take it easy on him just because he's black or because he speak so well??
- ziptnf, on 01/22/2008, -12/+6It's a brilliant campaign strategy, you gotta give him that. He is still referred to as President Clinton, even though he hasn't been in office in 8 years, so any time a former president (that people liked) supports a candidate, that's obviously going to give that particular candidate a boost. Bill has so many ties with people, he's basically running her campaign for her. Nobody ***** likes Hilary, but everybody likes Bill, and when Bill runs your campaign, you bet your ass you're gonna do well.
He needs to stop all his ***** propaganda against Obama, because Mudslinging wasn't originally his method of winning.- Solkre, on 01/22/2008, -5/+14You don't lose the title President when your term is up.
- ziptnf, on 01/22/2008, -5/+7No *****. Did I imply that? I simply said he's still referred to as President Clinton, so that carries some weight when you campaign for someone.
- Solkre, on 01/22/2008, -5/+14You don't lose the title President when your term is up.
- deanlowe, on 01/22/2008, -0/+2So, you premise is that if Bill doesn't bring it up that the GOP won't either?
Look what they did to McCain and Kerry. Did anyone say any of that BS before they were hit with it?
It's better to have everything out now when there's time for people to digest it and not be blindsided just before Nov.
- MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -1/+59Anyone see the democratic debate yesterday? I love that part when Obama said "sometimes I can't tell who I'm running against" in response to Bill's interference. That shut Hilary up... for a second.
- chica619, on 01/22/2008, -35/+0Funny letter, blogged here: blog.lefigaro.fr/electionsus08
- yellowcakewalk, on 01/22/2008, -66/+39Bill Clinton should be tried as a war criminal. The sanctions against Iraq during his term caused the death of half a million Iraqi children. Madeline Albright chirps "It was worth it". He greenlighted Suharto to kill 200,000 East Timorese. He cheerily bankrolled the most intense period of Israeli construction of illegal colonies in Palestinian territory. He pardoned tax evader Marc Rich WHILE HE WAS STILL ON THE RUN under pressure fom the Israeli PM. Bill is not a good person. Yes, he smiles, he plays saxaphone, he dribbles soothing pablum over NPR. Look at the records of these people, not their media cariacatures.
- pyronik, on 01/22/2008, -16/+41war crime? You need an act of war to commit a war crime... ***** moron... I don't even like bill clinton
- geddon, on 01/23/2008, -3/+2We need to expand our concept of war if the murder of a half a million children isn't included.
- jimfeet, on 01/22/2008, -12/+30War criminal? Compared to the US record for the past 7 years, ANYTHING Clinton did looks munificent.
- MattS, on 01/22/2008, -2/+5munificent - good word. sent me to dictionary.com just to understand. perhaps a little high brow for the rest of us diggers.
- scott88008, on 01/22/2008, -1/+5Actually, "beneficent" would be the more appropriate term in the context.
- geddon, on 01/23/2008, -2/+1It's all the in the presentation. When you talk about murdering children it doesn't go over so well unless it's packaged right.
- sirloin, on 01/22/2008, -2/+18reagan pardonsed all the iran contra criminals that violated our constituion, many before trial.
the sanctions of iraq were put in before he came into office and you guys would have went ape had he stopped them.
that said clinton is a scummy politician, i dont like him, but to pretend he is in the same legaue of evil as bush is a joke. - Frnnkdlxx, on 01/23/2008, -3/+4As you can see, people don't like it when someone brings up REAL, UGLY facts about their darlings. They just want to caress the "characatures" as you called them. They only want to look at bill and say, "Hey look what he did for the economy, only thing wrong he did was get caught on the Monica Lewinsky thing." They won't acknowledge the actual war crimes of starving out an entire population or destruction of the constitution. Let them be fooled. Let them be fooled and instead call you a moron for bringing up what he did! lol. amazing.
- BumRush, on 01/23/2008, -1/+6"He greenlighted Suharto to kill 200,000 East Timorese."
This happened in 1975 butthole. East Timor finally got independence in the 90's.... Clinton also nearly brokered peace in Palestine until some Jewish whack job killed Rabin. You were accurate about one thing however, the Iraq sanctions were a horrible mistake.
- pyronik, on 01/22/2008, -16/+41war crime? You need an act of war to commit a war crime... ***** moron... I don't even like bill clinton
- chase001, on 01/22/2008, -29/+17Clinton was the best Conservative Republican President of my lifetime and Hillary will be too if her corporate masters get her elected.
- pyronik, on 01/22/2008, -5/+3Conservative Republican, geez I wish.. I am and am a big supporter of corporations that provide jobs and stability in our lives. Being as I should be able to spot one of my own kind... I am going to have to say that her screaming she was going to "take exon mobil's profits" (or something to that effect)... well it doesn't sound like she's a lackey to any "corporate masters".
- dafragsta, on 01/22/2008, -1/+6In the sense of spending habits, he certainly was. He balanced the budget, which is his one true claim to fame. He can't take credit for the 90s economy unless he takes credit for the bubble pop that came with it. We do need fiscal conservative and a civil liberties patriot, but I don't think I have to say who would best fit that job.
- geddon, on 01/23/2008, -1/+1All hail our Corporate Masters!

- cybrguy, on 01/23/2008, -1/+1I believe we are at an impass between who posessed the greatest douchebaggery. Clinton and Cheney are both power hungry abusers.
- MarkOfTheDead, on 01/22/2008, -2/+13More like stuck between a rock........and........another rock.
- SammyJr, on 01/22/2008, -19/+121Seriously, lets not go too far. Yeah, Ms. Clinton isn't exactly a a great candidate, but to say she's worse than Darth Cheney is crazy talk.
- chicofaraby, on 01/22/2008, -9/+13I'm not saying she's worse than Cheney. I'm saying that I won't be pushed into voting for her by threats that "another evil right winger will be elected" if I don't. I held my nose and voted for John Kerry. I still regret it. I won't do it again. I don't regret my vote for Ralph Nadar though.....
- MacEnvy, on 01/22/2008, -2/+21You may not regret your vote for Nader, but the rest of us sure as hell regret it. The world would be a very different (better) place if Bush had never taken office.
- chicofaraby, on 01/23/2008, -1/+9It's not Ralph Nadar's fault Al Gore couldn't get the job done. If the Democrats had run as progressives or frankly anything other than Republican-lite, they could have had some of the left's vote. They didn't and it's their own damn fault. For a party that needs votes on the left as badly as they do, they still give us the finger.
They still haven't learned, apparently. Oh well. - gwhardyiv, on 01/23/2008, -2/+2I regret my vote for Nader in 2000, but I'd rather eat a bagful of day-old turds than vote for that withered, cackling succubus. She's like some cartoonish, evil mastermind, hell-bent on seizing power.

- azbmr, on 01/22/2008, -4/+8Yea, those people that disagree with you seem to forget that not voting for Hillary != voting for the Republican nomination.
- cybrguy, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1LOL, or to step it down one notch, not voting for Hillary voting for the Republican nomination.
- MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -6/+17If it comes down to McCain VS Clinton... I'll vote independent... hopefully someone will run as an independent. Maybe if Paul doesn't get the republican nomination (love his policies, but I doubt he will) he can run as an independent with Bloomberg (that way the media can't ignore him, and he's got Bloomberg's huge personal wealth behind him).
- xlop, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1Hmmm Paul/Bloomberg.....Interesting
- cybrguy, on 01/23/2008, -0/+2Ditto, a combination I never considered. I don't know if they are very compatible, but it would be interesting non-the-less
What would happen if bill gates was the running mate? Now that would be hillarious.
- vade79, on 01/22/2008, -7/+11Agreed, If the democrats are this desperate to ***** their party again when it seems impossible, let it be. She is the most likely to lose and treated as the most likely to win against the republicans...doesn't make sense.
- Tilon, on 01/23/2008, -3/+1Democrat and Republican is a farce nowadays and not the reality. That's why it doesn't make sense to you.
Stop taking things for granted and suddenly more things might make sense.
- Tilon, on 01/23/2008, -3/+1Democrat and Republican is a farce nowadays and not the reality. That's why it doesn't make sense to you.
- DangerCollie, on 01/22/2008, -14/+7I don't like her either but I'd suggest not getting up on that high horse. She's getting a lot of support from women. The polls put her substantially ahead of any of the Republicans. The ladies may take this one, so I wouldn't threaten to fall on my sword over it.
Besides, the rest of put with 8 years of bad Bush, you all can put up with 8 years of a Clinton bush.- Fordi, on 01/23/2008, -1/+1>_>
- cybrguy, on 01/23/2008, -0/+3what is horrible is that clinton is one of those candidates who would get into office off the ignorance of her own supporters. Women of all people wouldn't vote for her if they knew her for what she was.
- Fordi, on 01/23/2008, -1/+1>_>
- bgfinkel, on 01/23/2008, -6/+3really? Digg me down, but apart from her being kind of mean spirited, I think shes a fine candidate.
- Elathan, on 01/23/2008, -0/+3My beef with Senator Clinton is threefold.
First, he positions are clearly manufactured with an eye towards getting elected, not any genuine belief on her part.
Second, she is a politician through and through. Both Bill and Hilary are working the machinery to get elected, that's it. not my kind of candidate.
Third, she is the definition of a corporate democrat. She gets large amounts of money from corporate America and I don't believe she will act in my interests.
If Senator Clinton wins the democratic nomination, I will not vote for her. If Paul or McCain go against her, they get my vote. If it is Clinton against anyone else, 3rd party or independent candidate here I come.- bgfinkel, on 01/23/2008, -1/+2While I do agree w/ you that she really comes across as a candidate who just doesn't seem as honest and likable as some (i.e., obama/Mcain), she is a very intelligent person who CAN lead this country, doing a decent job. Also, just because she takes some money from corporations, doesn't mean her interests are solely FOR corporate America. She is a democrat, after all.
- wtfpwned98, on 01/23/2008, -1/+1@bgfinkel...
"she is a very intelligent person who CAN lead this country"
She's intelligent enough to give intelligent people a bad name. Intelligence is not everything, and there's a reason that dumb social conservatives seem to distrust anyone who is well-spoken: people like Hillary (and people like me, who make reference to "dumb social conservatives" on the internets).
Also, she can manage the federal government, but don't believe for a second that anyone as polarizing as Hillary Clinton can "lead this country." If she's elected, I guarantee you that we'll lose both the house and the senate. Maybe not in 2008, but in 2010 the Hillary haters will have left their mark, and that might explain why so many in congress are eager to endorse Obama. This is not a candidacy that you should support unless you truly enjoy a divided country.- bgfinkel, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1I don't enjoy a divided country, i'm just saying she'd be better than Mcain or the like.
- Elathan, on 01/23/2008, -0/+3My beef with Senator Clinton is threefold.
- CannedMango, on 01/23/2008, -1/+6I can't believe people are digging this up. Yes Hilary is a terrible candidate, and she would be a terrible president... but Cheney? Now you're just insulting us.

- merper, on 01/22/2008, -11/+106Ok, that's just crazy.
- trevorjez, on 01/22/2008, -20/+15bill clinton has become to democrats what ronald reagan is to republicans. why people think this guy was god's gift to the presidency is beyond me. he pushed for "fair trade" agreements, iraq and suharto (as noted by yellowcakewalk), he bombed baghdad (unprovoked in 93), he supported Turkey in its war against the indigenous Kurds...the list goes on, and on, and on...
- 3tcp, on 01/22/2008, -3/+5I agree to the extent that Bill seems to be in that 'losing his mind' stage.
- oldhick, on 01/22/2008, -6/+12I love your spin on these issues... Turkey's war against indigenous Kurds is really Turkey's war against terrorist separatists who bomb schools, churches, and market places around Turkey. The '93 bombing were sanctioned by the U.N. as a result of Saddams failure to submit to U.N. resolutions. There's always a few ways to look at an issue.
- trevorjez, on 01/22/2008, -5/+6what are you talking about? the 93 bombings were in retaliation to a supposed plot to assassinate the first president bush. a strike that was deemed a violation of international law.
37,000 kurdish civilians have died in turkey's war against the kurds. turkish death squads have killed community leaders and human rights activists.- oldhick, on 01/22/2008, -0/+4Who deemed it a violation of international law?
- JorusC, on 01/22/2008, -2/+4Ol' Billy bombed Iraq a second time. Oddly, the first missiles hit home on the day of his impeachment vote.
- trevorjez, on 01/22/2008, -5/+6what are you talking about? the 93 bombings were in retaliation to a supposed plot to assassinate the first president bush. a strike that was deemed a violation of international law.
- MoClippa, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1Clinton's presidency also oversaw the sanctions on Iraq which destitute millions of people and pushed Saddam's Baath party towards supporting tribal organizations and religious extremists in order to maintain his grip on power (since its original support base of Middle class Iraqi's deteriorated to nil).
Clinton also mass bombed Yugaslavian civilian targets including schools and hospitals, making him a bigger war criminal then Milosevic. The Yugaslavian situation started out as a very low key conflict till Nato, under the guidance of the Clinton administration, mass bombed and sanctioned the country to the point that its economy collapsed, triggering a full scale civil war.
- caponumen, on 01/22/2008, -14/+5Bill was the best phony democrat EVER.
If you are losing your ass in the real estate market or are working for less wages than a decade ago, don't forget to send old Buba a thank you note........- sirloin, on 01/22/2008, -1/+7still holding onto that last gasp of support for bushie... lol even the republicain appointed fed blames the bush admin.
- Fordi, on 01/23/2008, -0/+2You're going to blame the guy who actually caused the fed not to have to borrow money during his presidency for reducing the value of the US dollar?
Wait, no. You're saying losing your ass in the real estate market. Ok, well that's mostly the Fed and the associated banks' faults. Adjustable rate mortgages, really.
But hey, blame who you want. There's no law saying personal opinion has to be governed by logic.
- babar77, on 01/22/2008, -28/+23Bill is just finally being exposed for what our fat wallets in the 90's helped us ignore. We live in more troubled times now, and I firmly believe if Bill was presented with any *real* challenges in his presidency, he would've failed miserably.

- ukfoole, on 01/22/2008, -7/+3Yeah, thank god the Republicans keep shooting down that dodgy Democrat that seems to be tossing a Draft Bill at the House of Representatives constantly since like 2000. Or, did you think that Rep. meant Repuclican instead of Representative?
- allan17, on 01/22/2008, -1/+6He keeps throwing it out because if the draft was in place people would not stand for the Iraq war. People already bitch about it enough - imagine if they were in danger of getting drafted. The Iraq war would be over in a month.
- atheinostic, on 01/22/2008, -1/+6The guy that keeps bringing up the Draft Bill, Charles Rangel, votes against it every time. He just does it to make a point about Congressional hypocrisy. The bill usually gets about 2 votes for and 400+ against.

- sammicore, on 01/23/2008, -2/+0too bad Obama is in no way electable. all he's doing is running a smear campaign against Hillary and denying Islamic roots... just the fact that there's even the possibility that he's Muslim, unfortunately, makes him completely unelectable.

Being a superior president to Bush is sorta like being the valedictorian of summer school, isn't it? - tk0680, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1The only people who'd be worse than Bush are Cheney and co. - those with similar ideals but also significantly more brain power. Hillary, while certainly not being the best option this time around, would be far better than Bush, Cheney, Giuliani and chums.
I'd say only Romney from the main republican candidates (RP is not going to win no matter how much you or I want him to, shut up) that I'd prefer over Hillary.
- buddyfarr, on 01/22/2008, -9/+20just reading the title to this story tells me part of what is wrong with society:
"A lot of us want a Democrat in 2008."
when will people start to realize that you don't have to vote for a person just because they are in your "party". get a life, take responsibility for your own vote and listen to what these people are saying and doing. then chose a candidate on your own based on what you believe they will do for America. Don't just blindly vote for someone just because they are dems or repubs, or not.- Gerz1219, on 01/22/2008, -7/+5Reality disagrees with you. In real life, there are two national parties, and they have a clearly defined platform. Politicians in either party are expected to toe the line with the party platform, except for maybe one or two key issues, and they lose support if they don't. There are people called "whips" whose job is to pressure elected representatives into voting the party line. For every example you can give me of a "maverick," I'll show you 500 party-line drones.
There is no such thing as voting for the "person." Politicians are not people. Their party affiliation means everything. Vote for a third-party candidate if it makes you feel better. You're wasting your vote, and likely helping the candidate you like least.- sgtpppr, on 01/23/2008, -1/+6Yeah, going with the corrupt system simply because it's the way things are done is a great idea. Thinking like that is what got us in this situation.
- buckrogers1965, on 01/23/2008, -0/+6In reality both parties share almost the identical platform and just argue about things like gay marriage to distract the voters from the real issues.
- Epik, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1The reality is: America has one party with two factions.
- Endemoniada, on 01/23/2008, -1/+1Telling someone they're "wasting their vote" is extremly dangerous and also an outright lie. No vote is ever wasted. If you're not allowed to vote for whoever you wish, then it's not a democracy. It would be the same as the government appointing one candidate, and everyone had to vote for him (or her).
Voting exists so that the people can have a say in things. If they say they want someone else, it's their right to say it. - NonLeftistDiggr, on 01/29/2008, -0/+1They have a clearly defined platform? I'm at a loss of words for the republicans increases in government spending and programs. I'm confused as hell and left with no party that represents conservative fiscal policy.
- eean, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1Most people who "vote for the person, not the party" actually are just ignorant of the issues, and vote for whoever is most shiny. And then somehow feel self-righteous in doing so.

- ph33rpwn, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1lol
- tk0680, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1YOU try keeping Bill Clinton's dick in his pants.
- Marvelboy, on 01/22/2008, -3/+14I've mentioned this before in another post, but when my girlfriend and I went to NH to campaign for Obama all anybody cared about was that Bill just walked down the street. Even my girlfriend who's idea it was got all bummed out because she missed seeing Bill. The man has a stranglehold on Democrats.
- nfamous23, on 01/22/2008, -15/+34Bill's a jackass. He has the same imperial and personal ambitions his wife does. They actually admitted that their marriage was a joint, business partnership in an interview. They don't even love each other. That's why Hillary had no problem forgiving him for the affair with Lewinsky. She didn't care. It's always about the Clintons or the Bushes. I thought the Revolutionary War was fought to rid us of monarchies, not just rename them.
Bill Clinton was dubbed the first black president by Toni Morrison. What a stupid thing to say because he smoked weed, cheated on his wife and plays saxophone. That just plays to negative stereotypes that whites get enough of on tv, radio and print. Bill Clinton actually passed the three strikes law which dramatically increased black incarceration rates while giving judges no discretion at all in mitigating circumstances. He also supported NAFTA which sent many black jobs overseas. Yeah he's a real black hero. I'll put him right next to David Duke. Playboy jerk liar. He just wants back in the White House so he can steal the furniture again and fool around with some more interns.
Black people are uninformed and confused to be throwing Hillary any support at all. Of the three viable candidates, Edwards has our interests at heart first, then Obama and then Clinton last and least. A child could see this so stop viscerally reacting to meaningless charisma and empty words about change or that's all you'll have to spend for the next four years. Let me be clear, Kucinich is the only one that isn't lying and has a true progressive platform but black folk haven't even heard of him, despite his support for reparations and single payer healthcare. Read blackagendareport.com, blackcommentator.com and votesmart.org and get informed people!!!! It's late in the day.- JorusC, on 01/22/2008, -2/+4Why, exactly, do black people want a progressive agenda?
- p0s3r, on 01/22/2008, -6/+5Because it feeds their perpetual victimhood status. It creates a special legal status if your skin is darker than someone else's. Thats why. Any minority who supports a "progressive" agenda, doesn't want to be treated equal under the eyes of the law, they want to be classified based upon race and skin color and treated preferentially.
- landryrae, on 01/22/2008, -0/+0I think it is outrageous for anyone to suggest Bill Clinton is the first black president, including Toni Morrison. She of all people should know the struggles and prejudice black people face in this country and to suggest Bill Clinton has even had a taste of that is ridiculous. I thought Obama handled that question much better than I would have in his position.
Bill and Hillary are twisting things everyday and unfortunately most people aren't going to bother to double check any of what they are saying. If Hillary gets the nomination it will be more of the same arguments between the Clintons and republicans of the 90's. She won't get anything done unless she has a majority in Congress. We need Obama because he is the one that can actually bring both sides together. Don't let this Clinton "machine" fool and distract you people! - xdre, on 01/22/2008, -1/+1"Bill Clinton was dubbed the first black president by Toni Morrison. What a stupid thing to say because he smoked weed, cheated on his wife and plays saxophone. That just plays to negative stereotypes that whites get enough of on tv, radio and print."
If you read the original comment, none of those negative stereotypes were why she dubbed him that.

- TaintedTux, on 01/22/2008, -3/+9I honestly don't care about Bill's past at this point. I personally thought he did some good things, and also some bad things. Every American president has. What gets on my nerves is Hillary riding along on his coat tail. So Bill take a tip from the article and shut it, you aren't running for president. If this election comes down to McCain and Clinton, I hope everyone in America has the sense to vote Independent.
- ConceptJunkie, on 01/23/2008, -1/+1Either one will give us 4 more years of the status quo, but if McCain wins at least we won't have to hear Clinton's shrill yet emotionless voice for 4 years. Her speaking voice probably causes cancer. Either way, though we're screwed. That goes for Obama, Romney, Huckabee, Guiliani and the stupidest person ever elected to Congress: John Edwards. They are all the status quo.
- cybrguy, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1I would rather have Mitt than McCain, but Mitt's pre-presidential self clashes with the picture he is presently painting of himself, so I don't hold high hopes for him.
That being said, My ideal would have been
1. Ron Paul/Kucinich
2. Colbert/Stewart
3. Gravel
4. Obama
5. ME!

-trendy - katorga, on 01/22/2008, -8/+5I voted for Clinton ONCE. After that I realized his is in it for himself and his personal gratification, and not for any idealistic reasons. I think the reason he likes JFK so much is because he was a "player". So as a liberal Clinton got me....failed health care reform, welfare reform, NAFTA, a republican congress, and finally Dubya. Oh and he taxed the hell out of the middle and lower middle classes while allowing the hyper-wealthy (such as himself) to continue to get away with marginal tax rates lower than someone making 35K a year. What a waste. If I'm going to get GOP policies, I might as well get low taxes.
- ConceptJunkie, on 01/23/2008, -0/+2Funny, Bush gave us Democrat policies (except for low taxes) plus a war. It seems either way we get the worst of both worlds.
- cybrguy, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1I don't think he is saying bush was any better, I think he is just saying that he sucked. No need to compare two Douches against eachother to see who was the lesser douche and who posessed the greatest douchebaggery.

- cybrguy, on 01/23/2008, -0/+2Bill had plenty of shortcomings as a president, he was just fortunate enough to be president during an upswing in the economy. Him and his wife covered up his affairs to the detriment of quite a few peoples lives and credability. etc etc.

- cybrguy, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1Good analogy IMO. I'm of the belief that a husband/wife should be considered the same person where term limits are involved. What would we say if Putin put in his wife in as president(not saying it could/would happen) but just as my own analogy.

- Knucklecallus, on 01/23/2008, -2/+1Great solution. Don't participate, maybe we will end up with something far worse than we already have and we will see who you blame then.
- geddon, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1Look at the influence bloggers have had on MSM, or that file sharing has had on DRM, and you'll see the true power of the "internet people." We could just as easily build our own "Open Source" Election System and end up with the President we actually voted for! The only thing I see holding us back from writing up an Open Constitution is the will of the people. Once we all realize the power of the Open Way, we win our Government back from the wealthy elite.

And as far as the women that I've spoken with, their initial reactions of Hilary are positive until I go on a rant about everything that is wrong with her conniving two-faced self. The women that are rooting for her just because she is a woman need to WAKE UP and get their facts straight. I'd love to see Ron Paul get in but in my opinion its unrealistic. I think Obama is our best bet and hopefully he is and people realize that. And Slick Willy does need to shut his yap.
- samssf, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1Yep, that's how it is. The women I talk to like Hillary... you'd think they'd see through Hillary's deception but I guess not. They like the drama and gossip and think it's cool that a woman is running.. blah blah. People in this country need to get a clue.
