Even if the story isn't true, she's still ridiculously irresponsible for putting both her own life and the baby's life in jeopardy by flying to Alaska after her water broke, when she could have just had the baby in Texas.

If it IS her child, then she was grossly negligent and reckless by traveling EIGHT HOURS on a plane after her water broke to have the baby at a remote hospital with poorer funding in Alaska. She didn't notify the airline that she was pregnant in case they would have had to make an emergency landing, waited until she had given her speech at a conference, and then flew for 8 hours to her state- at the risk of getting an infection after her water broke. So if it isn't her child, it shows a huge lack of judgment. Add to that she had an interview while supposedly 6 months pregnant where she talked about how great it was to recently go jogging because it "tears up your guts [paraphrase]."

Then she drove 50 miles to a health facility in Wasilla, pop 5000. If she was eight months pregnant as she claims, then the baby was being born premature, which indicates possible complications such as infection that could kill the baby or the mother. Why would any sane person in the midst of labor fly thousands of miles to deliver a premature baby in a backwater health facility when she was minutes away from world class facilities in Texas, where preemie with special needs could get topnotch care? This indicates, at the very least a callous example of idiotic bad judgement that put the baby and her life at risk, and at worst, needless fraud to the American people.

One, we are not sure about the dates of the photos. Two, the daughter looks overweight just as much as pregnant (notice the "love handles" as well as facial fat.) To think, with all the scandal surrounding the Spears family, Jamie Lynn and her mother handled her situation with far more acceptance and understanding. As a dad, I hope neither of my daughters screw up and get pregnant when they are young. But if it happens, they will be loved and so would their baby. I would not make one of my girls hang their heads in shame. My children, and eventually my grandchildren, are worth defending against sanctimonious *****.

Here's how I think it could have gone down. Bristol gets pregnant, and in true conservative christian 1950's fashion, the family takes her out of school. There's a good amount of family drama about what to do, whether to put the baby up for adoption, maybe an abortion is discussed (if you don't think pro-lifers have abortions, then you might want to talk to someone who works in a clinic), but the decision is made that the baby is going to be born. At some point, they decide that the Grandma will be the Mom, and the Mom will be the sister, because Bristol Palin either decides that she can't handle it, or her mom decides for her. A simple plan is concocted, and she talks with the private medical staff which will oversee the birth and legal adoption, and will then never speak of it again.
Sarah Palin announces to her staff that she's 8 months pregnant. Everybody who has been observing her is flabbergasted. No morning sickness, no swelling, nothing. But it's a small town atmosphere in Alaska, and everybody deals with it in the way that small towns do. By whispering behind her back, but going along with the story to her face.
Seeing as she's still got a month until the due date, and that she's not *actually* pregnant, she deems it okay to go to the governor's conference in Texas. Before her speech, however, she gets a call to notify her that Bristol's water broke. Since she isn't really pregnant, and can pull off the macho tough girl persona, she tells people her water broke, but that she'll still continue her speech. She doesn't go to the hospital, because she isn't really pregnant. She then boards a 10 hour flight back to Alaska. She doesn't feel the need to mention to the flight attendants that she's pregnant, even though the airline has no policy against her flying. She lands in Alaska, where she is reunited with her daughter.
Later, when Trig is around 8 years old, he is visited by a man named Richard Alpert, who claims he runs a school for "special" children. Alpert finds an interest in Trig's artwork from school, and shows Trig a series of objects and asks Trig to choose which ones already belong to him. Trig, unfortunately, chose incorrectly, and instead continued his life as a public school student and a member of the Palin family, unaware that his sister is actually his mother. - Dustin00, on 08/31/2008, -4/+89And the 12 hour trip through 2 airplane flights after her water broke.

I saw all those crazy stories and I was like No Way, that's just not even believable, everyone knows the real story is that your mom's water broke at a convention in Texas but instead of going to a hospital or something she gave a speech. That would be totally gross standing up in front of people with all that baby water leaking but your mom had it under control! Then after the speech instead of going to a hospital she got on a plane and flew to Seattle. Wow! If she had gone into labor with a preemie down-syndrome baby on a plane it might have died, your mom has BALLS! If the cabin pressure had dropped it would've died for sure since her water was already broke, your mom has BIG ALASKA BALLS!
Then instead of going to a hospital or something in Seattle she gets on another flight to Anchorage! And then instead of going to a nice hospital in Anchorage she gets in a car and goes 45 minutes to some backwoods mountain-man hospital near Wasilla! Then she's like "OK doctors, NOW I'm gonna have a baby". She's already had like a million babies so she knows all about how to make sure it doesn't come out while she's on a plane or giving a speech. Does your mom do a lot of Kegels?
That is WAY more believable than all those crazy "Bristol was pregs and was taken out of school for 5 months so nobody would know and you can totally see her baby bump in pictures" stories. But then I thought about it more: why the hell was Sarah Palin in Texas when she was 8 months pregnant? More to that, why did she board a plane to Alaska after her water broke? She knew that her kid was going to have Down syndrome, why put him at risk for cerebral palsy as well? Something doesn't smell right. At best, it's bad judgment. At worst, it's a cover-up.
