  • grrrrrrrrrrrrrr, on 04/14/2008, -0/+3Peak Oil as a panic is the Thesis.
    The anti-Thesis is probably increasing dependence on nuclear and electric power so that a new proprietary control grid is established.
    Thus the Synthesis will be not be greater energy independence but instead just greater reliance in a new form. The only thing really changing will be the system and the new provider/manager.

    Here's a link to put oil scarcity into context.
    Petroleum reserves are plentiful at depth but as a fuel of economic growth and control it will be manipulated.
