- Surferess, on 05/20/2008, -1/+3Let's face it, News orgs are in business to sell ads and make money. It would be nice if that were not true, but it is. Additionally, news orgs have to continually make the news more about entertainment than content in order to bring in the younger viewer. Most Americans get upset about the war, so why remind them? They will generally go with a story about the election instead because that is hot - war is not.

Well, they're missing the boat. It's the negative stories that people are shunning as the newspapers sit unsold. Pick up a dispatch from Michael Yon and see if you can put it down without finishing it. The real news from Iraq is riveting and uplifting, but it doesn't fit the agenda of the left in their drive to discredit the President and get democrats elected. Hey NYT! The truth will not only set you free, it will sell papers!
