- sarazen, on 11/06/2008, -1/+3Given the number of people 20/20 and Howard Stern caught saying 'they thought Obama's pick for VP Sarah Palin was a great choice.' there is certainly the argument to be made that at least some of the voting public weren't paying enough attention. But it is a moot point. Now that Obama has been elected we will see what he really stands for, and see if the people still love him for it.

Every word out of his mouth is a Lie. He is as corrupt, as GWB is Inept. - inactive, on 11/06/2008, -1/+2This election was all about winning for the Democrats. Republicans have occupied the White House for 20 of the last 28 years, won 7 of last 10 elections, and Obama was their "change". Change you can count on, like Rezko, Wright, Ayers and Marx. That's change you count on alright.
If you define progress as raising taxes on American families, regulating the free markets to death, infecting our kids with Hollywood ignorati, and ensuring that every abortion-seeking illegal immigrant has the right to medicinal marijuana, then yes, conservatives are against progress, and proudly so.
And whether it's defending America or reigning in government, conservatives stand for what they believe is right, even if it's unpopular. Liberals, on the other, believe in doing what's expedient, usually after holding a finger to the wind. That's why if we are looking for genuine leadership, we always will be better off with conservatives at the helm.
"Because you need me, Springfield. Your guilty conscience may force you to vote Democratic, but deep down you secretly long for a cold-hearted Republican to lower taxes, brutalize animals, and rule you like a king. That's why I did this: to protect you from yourselves. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a city to run." - Slideshow Bob, on The Simpsons - digitalsniper, on 11/06/2008, -3/+3Seeing how the markets have been taking a huge beating the last two days, we all know investors are scared of him and his future policies...
