- Insightful, on 10/10/2007, -9/+49I hate to say it but Karl Rove was probably his gay father's 'worst' mistake.
(I am not making up the gay father part - Rove's father is gay.) - Serifos, on 10/10/2007, -4/+27No, it just makes Rove seem like an even bigger douche.
"I am going to actively campaign against a minority my father is a part of, instead of fight for their (and therefore his) rights."
Of course I'd like some sort of source to verify the statement, but a guy can dream anyhow. - toddcat, on 10/10/2007, -1/+22Yeah, nothing to do with suggesting John McCain's judgment had been adversely affected by his being a P.O.W. or Swiftboating or slandering McCain's wife or suggesting Ann Richards was lesbian.....no...it was that one time he didn't flush after a particularly juicy late meal at a Ruth's Chris Steak House back in Austin '00. What a psychopath.
- oOLiquidNightOo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+20i think he's saying that if rove's father had remained faithful to his sexual orientation his son wouldn't exist.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+19He is a politician, a damn good one, but he doesn't play by the rules while he is engaged in his puppet mastery. What makes you think that anything coming from Rove's mouth is sincere or non-political? Every single statement that man makes to the media has a purpose, and that purpose is promoting the GOP's interests as we approach the 2008 elections.
- wendelgee2, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13Cheney is doing it to his daughter, why can't Rove do it to his dad?
- foohookups311, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Just to paint the whole picture. Karl Rove's real farther was not gay. Only his step father was. Check it out for yourself.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Rove#Adoption.2C_parents.27_divorce.2C_and_mother.27s_death - oOLiquidNightOo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8actually, i think he's more of a sociopath.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9His worst mistake was rapping.
His second worst mistake was not killing himself. - ganjadude4391, on 10/10/2007, -4/+10what a tool. hes out of there, at least fess up to your *****
- codered1322, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7I wish it was like in the movies when at the end the corrupt, vile politician realizes all the evil things he has done. So he simply pours a glass of scotch while its raining outside and then blows his brains out.
- vertinox, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Well its kind of like having a black adoptive father and then later in life helping out with the Klu Klux Klan win elections.
- Bdog2g2, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9Wow
So thoughtful, so cunning, such non-linear thought. You are one of the few of this species to use such vast portions of your brain power for the betterment of mankind. I mean, using words such as Libtard and *****, you have launch the human race into a new ever expanding world of vocabulary.
In conclusion...
Take your meds, and go to sleep. - pintomp3, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6head in the sand. BURIED!
- Kinkistyle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I don't really think Rove, Cheney nor Bush are really, truly opposed to gay marriage or homosexuality in general per se, but rather use it as a rallying call to stir their wingnut "base" against Democrats and liberals. Just like they do with the "War on Terror" or the "War on Drugs" or the "War on Christmas" or the "War on Family Values"... etc etc.. the list goes on.
- e68895f, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Hitler was also a good evil dictator.....
- KAZVorpal, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6You know who should be most disgusted by the corruption and dishonesty of people like Rove, his peers, and their boss?
Republicans and Conservatives.
The Bush administration are the antithesis of everything good, honest, liberty-loving people have ever stood for, from Thomas Jefferson through Ronald Reagan. - kidendless, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5an interview in IHOP, huh?
"my greatest mistake...was not ordering the chocolate chip pancake. man, that thing is badass." - Gir9000, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5With all the tax money this guy helped pour into Texas oil and the freedom flags he waves being the main adviser to the president, I can't help but think this guy was an architect for Armageddon... If you are not apart of the solution then you are a part of the problem Mr. Rove.
- satanatnmtedu, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6He didn't write that. Work on your reading comprehension before commenting again.
- jackal42, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3handbag FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!
- elleanee, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4he's not so good at getting his "man" elected as he's so good at destroying the reputations of the opponents. god help us, he'd better not be coming back to austin!!!
- ckhw2, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5He meant - Rove's a bigger douche than he already is... He didn't mean - bigger douche than his dad.
Phew!... this is like explaining to my GF why the record temperatures, here in the US, aren't my fault. - keyboardduder, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6I know I know
- Berkana, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4. . . 'cause every thing else he ever did or influenced others to do, as despicable as they were, was on purpose.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4not a problem - unless he allows it to scar him and turn him into a psychopath where the ends justify the means --- no matter what
- rarson, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yeah, I actually voted for McCain in the 2000 primaries, because I liked him, but the way he just let so many corrupt people just trample all over him, not anymore.
- Ricapar, on 10/10/2007, -4/+7Is that a problem?
- rarson, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3There's quite a few people that those statements apply to. Or rather, many politicians out there are saying whatever they feel they need to say at the time in order to get support behind them or their party, instead of accurately representing themselves and how they intend to represent the people. I think these guys are going into such excess these days with these elaborate "shows" that it's actually pretty easy to spot a genuine, honest politician. The fact that there are so few these days also makes it a bit easier. Now, if we could just get Americans to care enough to actually pay attention and do some research into the candidates before voting, then things would start to look a little better (once you fix the rigged voting machines and election counting scandals, of course).
- krakkinem, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5I'll go ahead and quote John Lennon and sat "time wounds all heels."
- bigstinky, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I'm going to need to work on my reading comprehension.
- catalysis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Although I'm for gay marriage, I don't think being against it necessarily equates to hating gay people. I understand that you like to present it that way to strengthen your argument, but I think it's not always black and white.
- gingerbreadcat, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4In other news, Rove also admitted that, as a child, he once hit a baseball through a neighbor's window while playing an adorable game of stickball with rascal friends and Scamp the Dog. But he made up for it by bringing over his jar of pennies and saying how gosh-darn sorry he was.
- toddcat, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Good at what? Scapegoating people? Lying? Demonizing people, breaking promises. Those are the only good things he was good at. He really sucked at art.
- Frnnkdlxx, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Yeah, I guess the provoking of murders, losses of life, limb and job, closet super homosexuality, gross national incompetence and other general malfeasance bordering on crimes spelled out in the Geneva Convention that gets you death, were just side notes.
- hiphoc, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Was gay, after he came out and abandoned Karl, he killed himself a few years later.
- ren1999, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Rove looks like Jabba the Hutt from StarWars.
His biggest mistake was endangering CIA agents in the field.
His grandfather's biggest mistake was running a Nazi death camp. - dallascorbin504, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Haha...his dad is gay. not that there is anything wrong with it. but just think for a second. This is the most conservative, right wing, religious administration we have ever had and cheney's daughter is a lesbian and Rove's dad is gay. That is a little ironic. no?
- zephypyre, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3He didn't make any mistakes. His candidate is still in office and he's yet to be charged with any crime. He didn't even get fired. Whether he stayed within the law or not, whether you like the guy or not, admit that the guy is a master at his job
- ckhw2, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Damnit hiphoc... you almost got me with you anti-gay propaganda... here are the facts from a more reliable source than any American news source... and I can guarantee that - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4679979.stm
"Mr Rove, born in 1950, survived some tough years. His father walked out of the family home on Christmas Day 1969 - his 19th birthday.
Then he found out this man was not, in fact, his father.
His mother committed suicide 12 years later." - ichbinladen, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Your mother is a whore.
- Kinkistyle, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I think the bigger offense against John McCain was a whisper campaign using robo-calls suggesting that McCain's adopted Bangladeshi daughter was an illegitimate black child and that McCain was "pro-gay" and was himself actually gay in order to stir up a racist and bigoted out lash in the South..
The fact that McCain rolled over and ended up becoming Bush's biggest kiss-ass (as witnessed by that hideous pic of McCain planting a big gay kiss on Bush's face) shows how much of a pushover McCain is. - GiggleStick, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2@toddcat (Can't go past the 5 level limit)
The thing is, Jesus did associate with sinners, but he didn't ever tell, them, hey keep on sinning and it'll be fine. He did encourage people to stop sinning. Jesus said "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." Well a doctor doesn't say "I know your sick but I just want to be there for you, but we're not going to actually try and change anything. Mkay?" So not accepting a behaviour (regardless of the motivation of that behaviour) as not sinful isn't the same as hate. - ckhw2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2LOL... we can only hope, man... we can only hope...
- gpaone, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Agreed!
- dagnabbit, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2He managed to lose both houses of Congress. How's that?
- BlacklabelSAR, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1While in general, I agree with you.......but I have to question your positioning of those two Rove mistakes.
- DAILYCROW, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1You're invoking an image of the 'Golden Years of Hollywood'. I've thought in the genre of that imagination too. But I am thinking of Superman and his ability to foil evil geniuses that are so super smart that only Superman can stop them. The evil geniuses know how to conspire in secret and cover their tracks. It requires a Superman for Truth, Justice and the American way to 'see' and deter the the wrongdoers. Yes, it's fiction, I know.
- Stevanoski, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1you hate too much, can dismiss you as a simple hater
