God I love this guy. - mark076h, on 02/22/2009, -22/+396Don't Blame Me, I Voted For Ron Paul
- inactive, on 02/22/2009, -17/+324Ron Paul = the most principled man in Congress.
- joe8pack, on 02/21/2009, -21/+305Think of the great nation we would have right now, if he had been elected president instead of Reagan or Bush senior. The sooner we give up this farce "war on drugs" and begin to treat drug abuse like a medical problem instead of a criminal problem, the sooner this nation can get back on its feet. The whole collapse of the economy is based on stupid useless policies that were kept for too long because nobody had the political courage to change things.
The federal reserve is probably the greatest enemy of the american people, as most libertarians understand, the 2nd greatest enemy of the people is the DEA and the police state, that abridges our freedoms under the guise of security from drugs and terrorist.
How bad do things have to become in this nation, before the people wake up and change things?
Or are we past the point of change and all just passengers in a train going off a cliff? - inactive, on 02/22/2009, -15/+285Ron Paul is clearly the ***** man.
- filldeviant, on 02/22/2009, -19/+240Dammit, America. Why couldn't we just put this guy in office? He would bring REAL change.
- DeepFriedFetus, on 02/22/2009, -12/+196Sorry, globalists. Sorry, neocons. Sorry, Big Brother. Ron Paul doesn't just go away.
- inactive, on 02/21/2009, -16/+192The phony, endless war on drugs has ruined many people's lives while providing police departments, lawyers, judges, the prison industry, DEA, etc., all sorts of job security, bonuses, overtime pay, ever increasing revenue & powers, their own smuggling/dealing/money-laundering opportunities, etc.!!! (And this is just the tip of the rotten, corrupt iceberg!)
There is a concerted effort by the NWO/globalists to get us into "the system", whether it be the legal system, the prison system, welfare system, etc.! - m3arvk, on 02/22/2009, -7/+181Face it, as much as one might disagree with Ron Paul you have to give him credit for being right about many issues and not flinching from his responsibility to share his views on them.
- jeches, on 02/22/2009, -24/+186Ron Paul: the only true American in Congress.
- Barackalypse, on 02/22/2009, -13/+147Hey Rawstory, you think maybe he's right about more than just marijuana? Like maybe borrowing $1.5 trillion dollars to spend on a bailout and a stimulus within a 6 month period?
- AngelBunny, on 02/22/2009, -15/+147Ron Paul is truly old fashioned and I admire that.
democratic party=country is going in the wrong direction or not going enough so lets start moving the country in this direction.
republican party=i like it like it is. lets not change much of anything.
ron paul=the last X amount of years have been one ***** up after another. we need to go back a number of steps and start over.
to bad the dem party doesn't realize this, or if it does i hope to see it soon. we need change but it seems in another direction. - Ellrick, on 02/22/2009, -12/+143Legalize, tax it, then we can smoke our way out of this economic downturn.
- sekseebeast, on 02/22/2009, -11/+139God bless Ron Paul.
- goffy59, on 02/22/2009, -10/+137I voted Ron Paul. I'm very proud of that too.
- tuseau, on 02/22/2009, -4/+118He's just a downright decent guy.
- inactive, on 02/22/2009, -7/+115The only way to better this country is to elect more moral libertarians and people like Ron Paul. I wanted him for president but he was thrown out of the race quickly by television restrictions: corporations and tv networks pick which candidates get the most air time and most importantly, who becomes our president. Corporatism is here!
- Pureeviljester, on 02/22/2009, -2/+93biting your nails is a bad habit... would you send those people to jail so others won't copy?
the last time someone asked me if i wanted to smoke some pot i said no, and he said ok.
whenever someone asks me to drink beer or something, they pressure me and ask me why not and go into this whole retarded rant about how it's fun and i don't know how to party.
I don't smoke cigarettes/weed or drink alcohol. - BrianCrosbie, on 02/22/2009, -10/+98@nitesmoke3
Ron Paul was put under media blackout in the last US election. The reason for this is that all the media is owned by only a few parties, and his views did not line up with theirs, corporates, or the neocons.
Even though the guy danced circles around absolutely every other contender in regards to his intelligence and strong knowledge of finance, politics, US, and world history, the media basically gagged him. It was severely unfair, and it was brutal to watch this happen. He honestly seemed to be the only presidential candidate with a clue, and he was loved by countries outside of the US. He predicted the current recession about 15 years ago and tried to warn everybody, but nobody listened. He also offered viable solutions to avoid the recession and to build the US up again.
The other guy who was muzzled (on the democratic side though) who was an amazing candidate was Dennis Kucinich.
At the end of the day however, none of this matters. Obama is at the helm, and I'm sure he will do fine. Let's face it, a 6th grade student would be better than Bush.
I could be wrong about everything I just said, and if so I apologize. I am Canadian after all.
Peace - jessehadden, on 02/22/2009, -2/+89Have you ever met a pushy pothead... idiot?
- inactive, on 02/22/2009, -2/+89NoLibertarians is just an internet troll.
While we're on the topic, I'm gonna smoke a bowl... - AngelBunny, on 02/22/2009, -2/+86i agree! eating fatty and sugary foods is a far worse habit. we should put them in prison too!
- Ebacherville, on 02/22/2009, -5/+86ROn Paul even after the election, being snubbed by his own party, he still stands up for what he has always says, took Obama what 15 days to start flip flopping even after he won the election.. Ron Paul at this point has very little to loose and he continues to stand up and tell it like it is, the logical truth!
ROn Paul is the most humble honest man i have ever met in my entire life and tirelessly fight for your freedoms every day of his life even when he's not trying to win a election, I think that alone proves how great of a person he is, he will go down in history as a true patriot, I will tell my son and grandkids about him and what he has done for this country.
The 2008 elections were yet one more chapter in a long fight for better government - maz2331, on 02/22/2009, -2/+82Well, he is a medical doctor, so he can cure (at least some of) the sick. As for water into wine - yes, but only with grape concentrate and yeast.
But he is a guy we should listen to at least to an extent. - theduffster89, on 02/22/2009, -18/+94RON PAUL 09'
- Grazzit, on 02/22/2009, -3/+69A point most people are failing to consider.
States are free to make their own laws, if the federal war on drugs stopped and all the states chose to keep the traditional black listed drugs illegal then there would be no noticeable change. All he wants is the federal government to live within the confines of the constitution. I'm pretty sure you'll never be able to goto the local drug store in texas and buy heroin with a side of crack....
Even if you consider Ron Paul a crackpot you have to give him a nod for his honesty. - Commonwealth, on 02/22/2009, -2/+65I voted for him and everybody laughed at me, but damnit I still think he's the man for the job.
- inactive, on 02/22/2009, -14/+70Wow! Ron Paul is such a great person. I wish him and his family the best. IMHO Ron Paul Is truly an American. He just wants the best best for this country- even if his ideas are not the best, or even possible- his heart is in the right place. He loves America - the Constitution and he loves the vision of the American dream. He wants us to do good and to be a model for other societies and cultures. This man makes me proud in trying times...I just wish I had 10% of his intelligence.
Thank you Ron Paul I get strength from your courage. I am so happy there are still men (and women) with integrity and vision. You may not win popularity contests- but you give many of us hope and the courage to go on. For that....I thank you from the bottom of my heart. - xDynaBlade, on 02/22/2009, -3/+59Too bad nobody in Washington shares his opinions on pretty much anything.... The world would be a lot better if people did agree with him on many things.
- conebone69, on 03/02/2009, -1/+56"push their habit on society."
is that a joke? - inactive, on 02/22/2009, -4/+57Ron Paul will go down in history as a legend -- the man who re-sparked America's interest in freedom.
- Ebacherville, on 02/22/2009, -5/+55he was hated by the press and tv, by his own party , why really never made any sense, when ever he was on tv they had the highest viewership ever, they got more emails and letters asking for him to be on shows than any other candidate.
The republican party shunned him as he criticized bushes foreign policy.. Fox news down right blocked him from tere airwaves.. as expected since there lock step with the republicans.
Really I never really could come up with a real good reason why besides the fact people knew that he was right but were afraid of the truth.. the truth that the economy was totally screwed, that our foreign policy was a huge mistake etc..
Really the more i hear about these conspiracy theory, about the government being so corrupt that there all paid off etc.. it really looks that there not theory, its actually reality.
Honestly If Ron Paul was heavily supported he would sellout almost every venue he went to, he raised more money in a single day than any other candidate in the primary and still holds the record.
Ron Pauls campaign was legendary, broke records left and right.. even by stuff that he had no involvement in the grassroots just did it on there own. You never ever see this stuff happening for other candidates ever! - NSResponder, on 02/22/2009, -4/+52Have you been a moron all your life, or did you suffer a head injury?
-jcr - Infowarsdotcom, on 02/22/2009, -10/+58He isn't hated. There are a few people on Digg like "nolibertarians" and "reed311" who hate what he stands for because they're typical fascists who want to force everyone to be like them. It greatly saddens me too because I have 311 tattoos and they support Ron Paul.
http://digg.com/users/nolibertarians (Oliver North..what a *****)
http://digg.com/users/reed311
They're also very good at spreading disinformation through a guise of public perception. "Well everyone hates Ron Paul so his followers must be building bombs and kidnapping black people to torture them because they're all so racist." ***** along those lines.
I might smoke too much weed and I might read too much but I wouldn't doubt it if they were paid to spread this disinformation by people who fear Ron Paul taking their power. Unlikely, but with the ***** they come up with, I wouldn't put it past them.
Also, bitter Obama voters with massive egos can't admit they were duped into voting for a corporate whore and instead of admitting that they were tricked, they like to attack the person who is basically saying "hate to say it but I told you so." (Ron Paul) - erasedgod, on 02/22/2009, -4/+51All you have to do is read Amiga's response, then read his other recent comments, to see what kind of people go out of their way to disparage Ron Paul. They're not bright. They're certainly not articulate. They're definitely living ads for birth-control.
- seltaeb4, on 02/22/2009, -19/+65I have heard of this "Ron Paul" you speak of. They say he can heal the sick, and turn water to wine... is it true?
- inactive, on 02/22/2009, -1/+47It's too bad closed minds aren't accompanied by closed mouths.
- Meekus, on 02/22/2009, -2/+47I found this to be VERY powerful. I dare say I got a little choked up listening to it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fTVn2tMI3E - maz2331, on 02/22/2009, -3/+48"Change? You can't HANDLE the CHANGE!"
So, insead, we elected Obama. - inactive, on 02/22/2009, -6/+50OK, can someone please explain this guy? He makes pretty good sense here, what is he so hated?
- israelifascist, on 02/22/2009, -4/+48Being against liberty is about the worst habit on the planet. Downright un-American. Not to mention completely lacking compassion for all those who simply use cannabis to ease their suffering. It's been used for thousands of years to treat all sorts of illnesses, but some moron thinks he should take away everyone's rights because "it's a drug, and drugs are bad! Mmmmmkay?" Never mind that alcohol causes vastly more harm than cannabis. Talk about small-minded and cruel!
- NSResponder, on 02/22/2009, -18/+60"one of the smartest men in politics"
Let's not damn him with faint praise.
-jcr - inactive, on 02/22/2009, -8/+49It's too bad closed minds aren't accompanied by closed mouths.
- maz2331, on 02/22/2009, -6/+47He's hated by a multitude of factions, each of which considers his ideas to be toxic to either their ideology or (most likely) their income streams.
Like it or not, a huge chunk of America consists of people in the fields of "law" and "money."
Under "law" - you have attorneys, their secretaries, paralegals, the police, prison guards, prison corporations, regulatory agencies (which employ millions now), and a host of others.
Under "accounting" - you have bankers, their secrataries, lower-level employees, etc.
All of whom, whether they know and understand it or not, owe their entire livelihood to current law and its interpretation. Without it, a large percentage of these people would be without a really marketable skill, and would find themselves competing for a job at Wal-mart.
Others are activists for one cause or another, and demand that their side's agenda become the way of the world. Some are socialists or even communists, demanding benefits "to the people" (while retaining behind-the-scenes control of how). Others are people who work in an industry that has somehow carved out a legal, accounting, tax, or other exemption from the law or special protection under the law. Still others are the crowd that has taken an overdose of the "God" pill, and wishes to impose something close to a theocracy on the overall population (and actually thinks that it would work).
In short, Paul represents the worst to every possible special interest group around.
If we ever actually followed our own constitution as written, a huge chunk (maybe up to 75 - 80%) of federal statutes would simply be invalidated immediately. Somewhere between 30 - 75% of state ones would be as well.
What many in the legal community miss in their hatred of the idea of "Paul overturning the apple cart" is that it would open up huge new "markets" fighting over exoneration of those convicted (or held civilly liable) under unconstitutional law.
Summary:
He's hated because he represents a huge threat to the professionals, corporations, and a few others that are basically "overhead" to the entire country, and these people will fight tooth-and-nail to keep their jobs from being eliminated.
Nothing more, nothing less. - socomoddjob, on 02/22/2009, -3/+43Life would be grand not having to worry about the police while carrying pot.....
- HigherLogic, on 02/22/2009, -2/+42He sure would make a great president :-)
- inactive, on 02/22/2009, -6/+46One day people going to wake up and "waste their vote" on the Libertarians. Everything people complain about here is built right into the platform. But voting for what you want would make to much sense. So long live the two party system.

http://www.lp.org/platform - M4Quan, on 02/22/2009, -3/+42The war on drugs has always been a cover for the US Government. When the US started the war on drugs they to over as the top drug dealing organization in the US. Has anyone ever asked themselves why the drug situation has gotten worse since the Government started the war on drugs? Simple, the government can pump that stuff into the US with out a prob. Many good people have died trying to educate the public on this very matter.
Great work Ron! - Ebacherville, on 02/22/2009, -1/+38the most honest also... but i bet thats considered a principle
- mmzero, on 02/22/2009, -3/+37Science bless Ron Paul!
