- holesome, on 05/20/2009, -0/+4I was with Bush on setting the hunt for bin Laden aside to prevent the slam-dunk WMDs in Iraq from spreading, but they turned out to be a myth and now I can't think of just what Mission Bush ever Accomplished unless I count letting financial deregulation set off the worst economic depression in the history of Democracy.
- NoDrama, on 05/22/2009, -0/+3If you've got empirical evidence of a worse depression, post it.
- NoDrama, on 05/22/2009, -0/+3Assumption? I'd call it an observation, myself.
- inactive, on 05/22/2009, -0/+2Please point out the free-market business clause of the U.S. Constitution.
- NoDrama, on 05/22/2009, -0/+2I thought Bush had the right of it, too. I watched Colin Powell's presentation on WMDs and trusted the President. Somewhere, somehow, the facts got twisted, obviously, and instead of a great warrior Bush left office as a guy who couldn't accomplish military goals, oversaw the greatest growth in the size of U.S. government ever, and fiddled while our economy crashed and burned.
It may be decades before the GOP recovers. - PCisBS, on 05/21/2009, -3/+0
In addition, the previous comment claiming that we are in the worst depression in history is absurd and a lie perpetrated by the "in the tank for Obama" leftist media, to get this completely unqualified candidate elected President. People need to wake up and study history and facts objectively. Every single Bush policy Obama decried as wrong has now been adopted by Obama. The ones that haven't yet been adopted by Obama are proving exceptionally damaging and are serving to weaken us in the eyes of the World. Bush's mistake was bailing out failed private banks and insurance companies, which had made bad business decisions with our tax dollars at the end of his term. Bush's poor decision has unequivocally been proven a mistake, however, self-appointed King Obama's choice to quadruple Bush's miscalculation is analogous to someone recognizing a mistake and insanely attempting to correct in by repeating it 4 additional times. Given that Obama is not a stupid man; the reason can only be driven by ulterior motives. Therefore the only plausible reason for Obama's irrational idiocy is his desire to exert control over the lives of American Citizens. Obama's choice to pursue policies, which have never worked and have failed miserably every time they have been tried-WITHOUT EXCEPTION- can only be motivated by stupidity (which isn't the case) or the personal adulation, typically experienced by Progressives, once they have implemented policies which give them direct control over what alternatives are and are not available choices for the citizenry - PCisBS, on 05/21/2009, -3/+0This a ridiculous assumption, obviously posted by a far-left radical liberal who is attempting to divert attention from today's out of control Democrats who have completely abandoned all Americans and the Constitutional Principles which helped us become the greatest Nation in world History. Obama and his crony's delusional grandeur has and continues to take away numerous rights of the Citizenry and free-market businesses which were guaranteed by the Constitution.
