- ichbinladen, on 04/07/2009, -61/+678The occasional "thinking" Republican is more an enemy to Limbaugh than any Democrat. Plus, he's a fat, stupid, drug addicted, kiddy diddler.
- freedomjoe, on 04/07/2009, -24/+482I love this Charles guy. He had such plain-spoken dignity; was from the hard-working midwest (I recognize the accent!), served in the military, spoke his piece, wasn't trying to be rude but was standing up for his party. Good for you, Charles! Sure, it would have been better if he hadn't voted for McCain/Palin, but the important thing to me is that he is thinking for himself and standing up for what's right ("We don't torture!"). That's the American spirit we all know and love.
I especially liked his "you are a brainwashed Nazi..."
p.s. cowardly the way Rush turns off the mic on the caller so he can lambaste them and they can't respond! - wikilowe, on 04/07/2009, -38/+472It's guys like Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity, Savage, and others that really turned me off to the entire Right Wing. I was raised in a Republican family, and now I can't see my family without arguing about politics because of Right Wing nuts like Limbaugh. I really hope stuff like this shows Conservatives and others just how messed up the people who think for them really are.
- calypsoschnitzl, on 04/07/2009, -20/+320CALLER: What's the matter with you? You never even served in the military. I served in the Marine Corps and the Army.
LIMBAUGH: Charles, Barack Obama is president of the United States today because of stupid, ignorant people who think like you do. - jeffbw, on 04/07/2009, -58/+352Sorry, but a "thinking" Republican would not've voted for McCain/Palin.
- Apokalyps2547, on 04/07/2009, -15/+276Limbaugh's response was pretty weak too. It boiled down to "You, sir, are NO Republican." without elaborating on why he thought that.
- MarianaPeyton, on 04/07/2009, -17/+216Rush Limbaugh is pure *****. I am a libertarian, the "original meaning of republican", and this ***** says that torture is OK, that Bush was right in invading Iraq, that Obama should fail, and more ***** like that.
Limbaugh says this guy Charles is stupid and anyone who votes Obama is stupid and ignorant and doesn't know anything, he is the one that sits 3 hours a day talking ***** on the radio. Charlies was on the ***** ARMY. Defending the United States. All you do is sit and talk trash.
Rush Limbaugh ***** YOU! This guy is getting ridiculous. There are some great right-wingers like Ron Paul, who oppose the Drug War and war in general, and then there are idiots like this one. ***** you again. - sarahlee, on 04/07/2009, -16/+199Sounds like Rush cut him off at the end so he could have the last word, too. Typical disrespect - and of a veteran no less.
- apastafarian, on 04/07/2009, -19/+180And Rush's brilliant response? Basically, a form of the classic pre school "I'm rubber, you're glue " retort! You really showed him Oxyboy, now have a juice box, a cookie and take your nap. I particularly like the ending where Rush tells the guy if he isn't for torture, he's no Republican. The truth hurts....literally!
- inactive, on 04/07/2009, -23/+183Now this is what I call, "hope."
- booksnmore4you, on 04/07/2009, -21/+172I am ASTOUNDED Rush let him speak, but Rush's tactic of then turning off the mic on the caller and then blaming him for the very things of which Rush is himself guilty is par for the course.
- netfool, on 04/08/2009, -6/+142Limbaugh: Because you're no Republican at all based on what the hell you just said right here.
Seriously? He's not a republican because he thinks torture is wrong and he thinks you're a *****' idiot? Guess I'm not a republican either then. - charlie6969, on 04/07/2009, -15/+143dugg for the coolness of Charles!
- neognostic, on 04/07/2009, -8/+128Actually this was an insult to brainwashed nazis.
- l2scoo, on 04/07/2009, -18/+110FAT ***** LIMBAUGH insults a Republican war veteran. How UNpatriotic!
- larrimer7, on 04/08/2009, -13/+95Limbaugh and Hannity are so ***** full of themselves
I'm also a Republican - Bolin100, on 04/07/2009, -15/+95Charles, if you read this...you are amazing!!!! Limbaugh, if you read this....you aren't good enough to be Charles' toilet. He cut him off at the end. You could hear him light a cigarette and had nothing to worry about because he'd already cut him off. Jackass.
- wakethefockup, on 04/08/2009, -7/+85I know, makes me want to puke.
- homercles337, on 04/07/2009, -3/+79That was the Oxy talking.
- inactive, on 04/08/2009, -11/+85That's why I'm always saying that hatred of Rush isn't simply partisan. I mean, even if I were a conservative, the man is a complete whack job.
- ForumDriv, on 04/08/2009, -11/+84"Barack Obama is president of the United States because of people who think like you do..." [Rush Limbaugh describing a GOP voter, a USMC veteran who voted for McCain and now feels that the pro-torture rantings (or at the least, torture accepting) were a poor strategic move on Rush's part.]
Rush doesn't take conversation, let alone criticism, well. This was really a joy to listen to because I haven't heard Rush so shaken by a poster child for the GOP in a long time.
And a call-screener is added to the ranks of the unemployed... - nomonkey, on 04/08/2009, -7/+79"I don't know of anybody who ever died from torture."
What the *****, Rush? You mean, you don't know them personally? Or that you never read a ***** history book.
***** idiot. You use the "no one ever died from" line for things like "doing the dishes" or something else harmless. Not for torture - which has killed literally countless people. "I don't know of anyone who ever died from the electric chair!"
***** moron. - MelekTawus, on 04/08/2009, -2/+72http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0706062rush1. ...
There's only one reason you go to the Dominican Republic with a bottle of Viagra.
It may not have been the prepubescent prostitutes he went there for, though. They have plenty in the 13-17 year old range too. If he wanted anything older, he could have gone to Nevada. - anstice85, on 04/08/2009, -2/+66That's how Rush works. His greatest strength, and weakness, is the control that he has over his callers. His trick is to annoy the person calling that disagrees with him and then sit back and say "See, I can't even have a rational discussion with these people" and hang up on them - but say that THEY hung up because they were too cowardly to debate or something. This call was surprising because Rush is the one who lost control here, I can just imagine how uncomfortable he was.
- KibblesnBitts, on 04/08/2009, -10/+73Obama is the president because of people like Charles who voted for McCain......I'm not quite understanding this train of logic.
- JumpingJack79, on 04/07/2009, -8/+69There are various degrees of "thinking" and "not-thinking". Charles is pretty high up for a Republican. Imagine being raised in that paranoid nonsense...
- lhbaker, on 04/08/2009, -12/+71I love that the guy accused Rush of spouting 'sour grapes,' and three seconds later, Rush accuses him of the exact same thing, as if he thought of it.
Charles ***** rocks. - skews13, on 04/08/2009, -7/+65You forgot draft dodging coward, who has the audacity to think he speaks for the military.
- anstice85, on 04/08/2009, -3/+58Glenn Beck is in line to become the most popular, which is scary considering he's insane. Hannity is stupid and just parrots whatever ***** the GOP gives him. I don't think that Limbaugh has always believed what he's said, but he actually started believing his own ***** this past election - he assumed that McCain was gonna win so he was really smug until his November 5th broadcast where he has a nice little meltdown. O'Reilly loves the smell of his own farts, and no one takes Savage seriously, ever.
The fact that Limbaugh isn't just treated like a radio personality anymore tells a lot about his position in his party. Whenever someone in the GOP has tried speaking out against him, they end up apologizing. He has much more power and influence than the average politician, which is pretty scary. - aFoxy21, on 04/07/2009, -15/+67I'm just happy to see Republicans finally turning on Mr. Limburger. He's been given enough rope to hang himself with -- but now we have to wait for his followers to turn on him and kick him off the ledge!
Go Charles! - ThinkExist, on 04/08/2009, -5/+55"Anyone who can believe in torture has got to be -- there has got to be something wrong with them."
Thanks Charles, such a cool and refreshing breath of fresh air.
As long as Rush is the Republican overlord that all republican politicians have to kneel and kiss his ring when they do something bad, I will never be able to vote republican. Libertarian is another story tho. - novenator, on 04/08/2009, -3/+53I honestly liked McCain until 2004. He seemed to be a straight talker with a level head on his shoulders. That all changed with his fiery speech denouncing the war hero John Kerry during the RNC. I could see he was jumping through the hoops and predicted right there on the spot that he would be the next Republican nominee for president (citation available upon request). It's really too bad to see a good man sell out his principles in a quest for power.
- inactive, on 04/08/2009, -6/+54stuff like this just makes me wish even more that the Republican party could get its ***** together. Kick out the neoconservative, hyper-religious nutjobs, and you could end up with a viable platform that could support candidates that I'd consider voting for.
If they were smart, they'd realize that this past election was a mandate from the people that their platform just doesn't work, and that they need to rediscover their small-government roots. Instead, it looks like they're just doubling down on crazy, and pinning their hopes on the American people being shortsighted and ignorant enough to blame the economic meltdown on the Democrats.
Not saying that it's the Republicans' fault--it's clearly the fault of *both* equally corrupt parties--but the right's strategy seem's to hinge on people blaming it all on the democrats. - Echota, on 04/08/2009, -12/+59Thank you Charles!
Thank you for being an American patriot against torture and verbaly kicking Nazi Limbaugh in his nut's.
We can talk about how you voted over drink's. - puresugar, on 04/08/2009, -14/+60http://www.marketwatch.com/News/Story/Story.aspx?g ...
Boycott his Sponsors... - novenator, on 04/08/2009, -3/+47Unfortunately, the lines have been blurred so bad between real journalism and entertainment, that most Americans now get their real news from these 'entertainment' programs. There in lies the problem. With the incitement to violence and paranoid hate mongering that takes place on these shows, it is a recipe for disaster.
- inactive, on 04/08/2009, -2/+45It's fun right up until you realize that there are people who take him seriously, and that their votes count as much as yours does. Then it's just scary.
- clvngodess, on 04/07/2009, -24/+67Rush "The Ass Breathing Ass Talking Turtle" Limbuger is an ignoranus. His indignity over Charles, who was indeed in charge of this phone call, was a freaking joke. Not only did the big stinking turtle make a complete ass out of himself, he did it quite well. First of all, one must actually LISTEN to have a conversation or hold an argument. The stinking ass turtle did no such thing. He only heard what he wanted to. Charles was clear and concise. Limburger was as stinky with his turning of the truth, truth being Charles words, to fit the Limburger Turtle agenda. What a jerk the Rush is. I could actually hear him suck wind as this caller took him down a notch. And what a weak and childish retort. At least bother to listen and get the argument right before you open your mouth... Oh wait! Limbaugh speaks out his ass, which is where is brain is located. Never mind.
Charles is a republican with grace and dignity. And while I am neither Dem or Repub, I can truly respect a man of his moral core. Kudos Charles! - Teamthom, on 04/07/2009, -17/+59Well, someone intelligent is listening to Rush. :)
- inactive, on 04/08/2009, -7/+48If I were a Republican, I would've voted for McCain (though I would've been very upset about Palin). I mean, his campaign was definitely a complete train wreck, but he has a record of generally being a pretty level-headed guy. He just got himself into trouble by trying to court the wackos and religious nuts who generally don't like him.
- newfrickinshow, on 04/07/2009, -13/+52Rush did the same thing in 2006 with the Michael J. Fox-Claire McCaskill incident that sent a lot of populous anger towards the right wing and money towards the McCaskill campaign. That may have given the Dems the senate majority in 2000. And Rush wants to accuse someone else of thinking they know eveything? How does that old cliche go, something about a pot calling a kettle black.
- rpgmakr, on 04/08/2009, -5/+40"LIMBAUGH: I don't know of anybody who died from torture."
Of course not rush, they are in a prison in a foreign country, hidden to the rest of the world. But I bet 20 bucks that if you at least care about it you'd look it up some documentaries that tell the story of some of those people. - anstice85, on 04/08/2009, -3/+38I've listened to his show for years because I like listening to opinions other than my own. This is why I dislike him - because I know the tactics he uses and the outright lies he tells.
- WasabiBomb, on 04/08/2009, -3/+37You didn't even listen to the clip or read the article, did you, mbraynard.
And you wonder why your side lost. - consciousman, on 04/07/2009, -11/+45way to go Charles.....
- LedZepAddict, on 04/08/2009, -3/+37It does not surprise that Cheney Rush, and Bush, these apparent "experts" in warfare never fought a day in any branch of the American military.
I respect McCain, disagree with him on most fronts, but respect him, as he and this fine Gentleman, Charles, are the only true "experts" who can talk about torture. - jba68, on 04/08/2009, -7/+39lol @ kiddie Diddler... I dont know about that, but you got it right about the fat, the stupid and the drugs
- inactive, on 04/08/2009, -13/+44In case you missed it, here's Jon Stewart telling Rush Limbaugh to get the ***** out of NYC:
http://digg.com/comedy/Jon_Stewart_to_Rush_Limbaug ... - jhbarr, on 04/08/2009, -6/+37Limbaugh did not even have the balls to keep him on the air while he ranted
- fmaxwell, on 04/08/2009, -2/+32Yeah, but look at who finds them entertaining.
