Reporters Who Ignore Anna Nicole Smith To Focus On Iraq War Are 'Snobs'

thinkprogress.org — Fox's John Gibson attempted to defend his incessant coverage of Smith's death. He accused reporters -- such as CNN's Anderson Cooper -- of "news-guy snobbery" and attacked them for covering the Iraq war. He said, “Oh, there’s a war on, there’s a war on. Maybe, just maybe, people are a little weary, Mr. Cooper, of your war coverage..."

I don't even like the fact that I know there's a dispute over those issues. You want to do 5 minutes a day on her? Fine, be my guest, lump it in with Spears shaving her head and who won at the Oscars. But why is it that every goddamn time I turn on the news, I see her!!!!

I'm not sure Fox is giving the people what they want, as I keep turning it off, and I mostly hear people complain about the Anna/Britney coverage of late. It's a sad day when I get more actual news from Jon Stewart on the Daily Show than Fox, CNN, or the Big Three networks.
