- mecharabbit, on 06/17/2009, -2/+14Well, let's start with legalizing weed, and we'll see how it goes from there.
- inactive, on 06/17/2009, -2/+13for once i'm on the winning team :/
- fuckingusername, on 06/17/2009, -1/+7a war that will never be won until it's legalized and regulated, hell it might get the global economy the boost it needs. Then we can do the same with prostitution.
- TheJimid, on 06/17/2009, -1/+7Yes they did, along with the cartels, private prison industry, and anyone who likes racism in the criminal justice system.
- Tarkaan, on 06/17/2009, -3/+7Hmmm... Bush may not be the worst president in history after all. The War on Drugs has gone on for 40 years and cost hundreds of thousands of lives internationally, and cost hundreds of thousands of Americans their freedom. The War on Terror seems to be well under those benchmarks.
- pmkenny1234, on 06/17/2009, -0/+4When the US learns to stop creating laws that prohibit actions that harm no one and just limit personal freedom we'll be much closer to learning to be responsible for ourselves. The government does not need to tell us how to live when our actions harm no one.
And don't tell me that someone could run over someone while driving high. Vehicular manslaughter is illegal. We don't need to make actions that *might* cause a crime illegal. We need to just grow up and stop ***** judging the way other people live. - mikbunn, on 06/17/2009, -1/+3Legalization would cause for more candid discussion of the topic, replacing the blanket "JUST DON'T" statements from authority figures. People tend to make better decisions when they're given accurate information, rather than prohibitionist propaganda. Just look at the higher rates of teen pregnancy in those subjected to abstinence-only education.
- inactive, on 06/17/2009, -0/+2drugs keep me from flipping out and killing people, it does not act as a catalyst. seriously.
- vikblazin, on 06/17/2009, -0/+1i think we should legalize weed, but to an extent. because seriously, if weed was legalized, I know that i would be baked like 24/7 for like the first couple of weeks. And I'm sure a whole *****-ton of people will follow suit, and a large portion of our nation will be 'celebrating' for a while. Then afterwards the true users and abusers of drugs will show their faces. We need to learn how to use drugs, not abuse them. There are a lot of drug abusers out there, and THAT is what we need to prevent. I know one of my friends that smokes weed at least 10 times a day. He had a 4.0 gpa. But then i know anoother freind that smokes weed and fails at life. We cant have more of those people.
/rant. - superdoug, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1Another msaleem dupe? buried.
- pmkenny1234, on 06/17/2009, -1/+2Back when electricity, cars and airplanes were invented guess what was also legal to do? That's right...smoke weed. Stop equating a few lazy people who don't know how to moderate with the millions of people who smoke from time to time and live successful, responsible lives.
- WertYui2169, on 06/17/2009, -0/+1a rant, but not a biased one. I see the same thing for myself, and some of those around me. But, we can't really drink in public, should we be able to smoke in public? Same goes for work...I can drink on Fridays...but can I not smoke all the other days? Like you said, smoke ten times a day, and get a 4.0 gpa....it can happen. But, the other side of the obvious does as well.
It's not so much stopping it from happening...It's letting it happen and not stopping them from recovering. - anarchytv, on 06/18/2009, -1/+2Wait until you see what meth addiction does to your brother or sister, and you'll change your mind.
There are highly addictive drugs that are legal. Nicotine, caffieine. Both will ***** you up and really ***** with your system. Both are highly toxic poisons. Don't believe me? Drink half a liter of Walmart's Dr. Thunder and see what that does to you, and tell me that garbage shouldn't be outlawed to be sold as a 'food'.
I'm not for putting in people for using drugs. But I'm all for putting people in prison for selling drugs. This goes for big corporations as well as the neighborhood punk street dealer. Why? You should be free to sell anything you want. Sure. But not when you're selling it not disclosing what the chemical does to you in full. There are no warning labels on a can of soft drink, nor is there on a bag of crack. Both should be outlawed to be sold without a full disclosure included of whats in them, what the chemicals do to you, and what the adverse health affects are. - inactive, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1i'm sure you'll be dugg down for your tone, but you are wise and have valid point
>Both should be outlawed to be sold without a full disclosure included of whats in them, what the chemicals do to you, and what the adverse health affects are. - poprocksandsoda, on 06/18/2009, -2/+1That's how we get to where we are now.
- GeorgeStone2, on 06/17/2009, -4/+1Hey, how can we fix a country full of lazy people that don't work.
I know, we'll legalize weed! Oh wait.
