- PerfectTommy, on 11/30/2007, -7/+78Oh, let's just get the obvious comment out of the way early... "I wish someone would give W a BJ so we could impeach him!" Thank you, thank you very much, I'll be here all week, and please remember to tip your waitresses, they work hard.
- inactive, on 11/30/2007, -6/+74The really sad thing is, people actually cared about the blow job. I guess sex is worse than violence in real life as well as on TV. Man, we've got some whacked up priorities.
- dblatti, on 11/30/2007, -5/+45I tried, but CNN rejected my youtube question for some reason.
- irvman21, on 11/30/2007, -18/+57It wasn't so much debating a BJ as it was perjury.
- Calann, on 11/30/2007, -13/+44When things are going well, some people will find the silliest things to complain about. It just shows how desperate conservatives were to rake up some muck.
- ChromaVita, on 11/30/2007, -1/+30I really don't think it would make for much of a debate. I'd take a blow job over torture any day.
/misread title. - BassMastr, on 11/30/2007, -7/+36I don't think people were so upset about the blow job...I think it was the whole lying under oath thing that got him. Either way it was nothing more than political BS. Any man would lie about cheating on his wife. Either way I've had enough of the Bushes and enough of the Clintons. We do not need the same two families running our country for up to 28 years.
- chrispeters, on 11/30/2007, -3/+28Sex is a disgusting unnatural act, not like killing people. Don't you know these things?
- inactive, on 11/30/2007, -11/+29That's like saying the Civil War was about states' rights. While yes, that's true, the issue of slavery really helped provoke the conflict. God I'm going to hell for comparing a blow job to slavery and the Civil War.
- atdigg, on 11/30/2007, -4/+22Personally I think they shouldn't ask this questions if they don't want to be lied. I think that question violated Clinton privacy more than necessary.
- pintomp3, on 11/30/2007, -2/+19being asked to testify under oath about person sex life is pretty stupid.
- robberry, on 11/30/2007, -1/+17Would you kindly explain why you think adultery and lying under oath are morally equivalent to ordering torture, spying on the innocent, ignoring pre-9/11 evidence that al-Qaida was planning an attack, causing thousands of lives in New Orleans to be lost because an incompetent crony was chosen to head up FEMA, and killing hundreds of thousands of people in a war predicated on false pretenses provided by cherry-picked evidence?
I don't mean that to be a rhetorical question; I honestly want to hear your answer, if you have one. - superdoofus, on 11/30/2007, -0/+13if there's anything i learned from the current administration, it's that "i don't recall" is the new "i plead the fifth".
- dotlizard, on 11/30/2007, -2/+13and ironically, the first time Bush mentioned the lack of WMDs, in the State of the Union in early 2003, no one took notice because the whole country was in an uproar over a nipple at the superbowl. we get so worked up over the stupidest *****, we do.
- Elranzer, on 11/30/2007, -0/+10Republicans: Blow jobs bad, torture good.
- shabumike, on 11/30/2007, -5/+14Those were the good ol days, before the constitution was printed on presidential toilet paper for any member the administration to clean their dirty corrupt asses with....
- inactive, on 11/30/2007, -3/+11Despite the general consensus here, Bill Clinton deserved what he got. Our nation is built on the rule of law, and obstruction of justice by lying IS a serious issue. The guy swore to uphold and defend the Constitution, yet set a poor example by lying to our judicial system. For you who think "its just a BJ"...where is the line supposed to be drawn? Its ok SOMETIMES to lie to the courts, but not others? And for the record, I support impeachment of Bush.
- MaximusPryme, on 11/30/2007, -2/+10Everyone who believes that the world was perfect, the only thing wrong in that golden age was Bill's blow-jay, and then Goerge W. Bush brought along the apocalypse can now go to recess, and be sure not to skin your knees.
I'm not endorsing G.W. Bush, and Clinton was a better president relative (key word) to Bush. I think this has more to do with how the media can skew what is going on in the world. - inactive, on 11/30/2007, -0/+7Never would've worked for Clinton. No one would've ever believed even for a second that a man couldn't recall a blow job.
- MistySteele, on 11/30/2007, -0/+7You're right, it technically is a crime, but one doesn't need to be "leftist" to see inconsistency here. If the president says he "didn't have sexual relations" with someone when he in fact had received a couple of blow jobs from her, is this really a high crime of office that deserves impeachment?
If you really think so, fine, but then wouldn't Bush's actions also have passed this threshold long ago? - beardsauce, on 11/30/2007, -0/+6The only thing that changed was our awareness of torture. It's not like they just decided to start doing it 2 years ago, or 4 years ago, or even 20 years ago. Torture is military tradition.
- FutureGuy, on 11/30/2007, -2/+8no kidding.
Bush: "I entered a unjustifiable war based on manipulate intelligence for oil, costed a few 1000 lives including young America soldiers". US public: "ohh really, do better next time, here's another 4 years".
Clinton: "Ohh she was too hot and given my wife is too cold, couldn't resist." US public: "WTF impeach impeach impeach."
Its messed up big time. - haydesigner, on 11/30/2007, -2/+8Equally?? Seriously?
- yoshimaroka, on 11/30/2007, -1/+7Remember when the media discussed Chinagate when Bill Clinton was in… well i guess that whole scandal was swept aside for something minor
- mwrl, on 11/30/2007, -3/+9Lets not mention Clinton sending the military troops to their death across the globe in order to hide his sexual affairs. No that wasn't wrong at all with his holiness.
- iloveazngurlzs, on 11/30/2007, -0/+5If you testify ill put it in your eye
- inactive, on 11/30/2007, -0/+5You put a politician under oath, what do you think's gonna happen? The only thing worse is hooking a politician to a polygraph.
- MistySteele, on 11/30/2007, -1/+6You're right, it technically is a crime, but one doesn't need to be "liberal" to see inconsistency here. If the president says he "didn't have sexual relations" with someone when he in fact had received a couple of blow jobs from her, is this really a high crime of office that deserves impeachment?
If you really think so, fine, but then wouldn't Bush's actions also have passed this threshold long ago? - pintomp3, on 11/30/2007, -4/+9america, where an exposed nipple stains the viewing of a brutally violent sport. the documentary "this film is not yet rated" does a great job of exposing this hypocrisy.
- radink360, on 11/30/2007, -1/+6The problem is that the BJ should have never made it into the public view. It is his personal life. But then again, the republicans will do anything to smear a dem instead of doing what's right for the country and it's people.
- kenvsryu, on 11/30/2007, -3/+7Idiots still bring it up.
- inactive, on 11/30/2007, -3/+7No...but I do remember when we debated felony perjury and obstruction of justice.
- mal1964, on 11/30/2007, -1/+5I thinking Hillary was debating torture, But Bill won and got a blow job
- echinda, on 11/30/2007, -2/+6I'll take someone that has enough of a sense of shame to lie about an affair over someone who has so little sense that he can look you in the eye and say "Waterboarding isn't torture" any day.
- inactive, on 11/30/2007, -1/+5I would also like to ad that Clinton's (or anyones) sexlife shouldn't be in the public domain, and that he shouldn't even have been asked the question in the first place. Nowhere else on earth do people give a ***** about politicians private life. What counts, is how they perform.
- sazai, on 11/30/2007, -3/+7The impeachment of Bill Clinton was to turn the very act of impeachment into a joke. Bush stole both elections, and it wasn't planned over night. The powers-that-be knew what was to come and by impeaching Bill they effectively made impeachment for Bush very difficult. "Nobody" wants to impeach two presidents in a row, no matter how deserving the second one is.
- jonmlm, on 11/30/2007, -0/+4well, let's be clear. he actually said it would be up to the states to remove the genitalia.
- inactive, on 11/30/2007, -0/+4you're not kinky enough
- badenglishihave, on 11/30/2007, -1/+5I don't understand your analogy since the Civil War WAS about state's rights.
- dizilbdog, on 11/30/2007, -3/+6I'll Take a Blowjob over a Suicide Bomber any day
- Elranzer, on 11/30/2007, -0/+3I remember when political sex scandals involved a man and a woman, back when Clinton was in office. These days, all these Republican sex scandals only deal with two men. I guess that's ok if you like gay sex, but most Republicans *claim* they don't.
- inactive, on 11/30/2007, -0/+3i don't think anyone can rise higher than his dick dude
- MrWhite7, on 11/30/2007, -2/+5Well.... many weren't aware of the whole "give China state's secrets for being our friend" thing, so perjury looked good.
That being said, I'm more annoyed with Bush. - inactive, on 11/30/2007, -0/+3President's don't HAVE privacy when they represent this country. That's a simple reality - look at Bush and everything that's been dug up on him. Same thing happened to Clinton, just on a smaller scale. Perhaps you don't know what Whitewater is. Google it - and found out that it was the most costly scandal in American history. I care more about that than perjury.
- quidpro, on 11/30/2007, -0/+3Yeah. Most of you were 13 years old. I remember that. And I think I know why all it is you remember was a blow job.
- Acewrap, on 11/30/2007, -0/+3I find it odd rightists want to torture and kill every non-white person, so I guess we're equal.
- saigumi, on 11/30/2007, -0/+3Wow... are you that much of an idiot? He was asked the question about his sex life because HE WAS INDICTED FOR SEXUAL HARASSMENT! That gives them every right to question his abuse of power.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paula_Jones - rheaume, on 11/30/2007, -1/+4Remember when America debated debate plants instead of torture?
Oh yeah, that was just now - inactive, on 11/30/2007, -0/+3Your take on Clinton as with many others demonstrate the effectiveness of this type of policy redirect.
Clinton committed many impeachable offenses yet the establishment chose this one above all others.
That choice was no coincidence and was taken to best appease the largest fraction of the public and avoid the truly heinous actions committed by the USG on many other fronts. - EdgarVerona, on 11/30/2007, -0/+3You want to talk about obstruction of justice? That's been going on for years with the current administration. They've been nonchalantly obstructing investigations repeatedly... and in fact, a member of that administration was found guilty of felony perjury. And (gasp) it was about something that actually MATTERED this time.
So yes, let's talk about obstruction of justice and felony perjury, shall we? -
