That the President as commander-in-chief is infallible and yet the oath I believe is to the Constitution which allows freedom of speech, the right to dissent and the checks and balances of a tri-partite government to protect us from the foolihardiness of absolute power. Fighting to protect our liberty only makes sense if we are really fighting to protect it and you can't just say we are for world peace while we are bombing and occupying a country. And telling the soldiers the truth should be mandatory before they risk their lives. Risking your life for a lie("We know they have WMD'S and we know where they are!") as well as the words imminent threat to our security seems to me to be a threat to our Constitution.
Giving the Pres. war powers as a bargaining chip is a subterfuge Congress should not be allowed to indulge in with our country's security.
And taking the view that the US is justified to do what it wants worldwide whether our reasons are true or not is something the American Red and Blue states have a moral responsibility for. Not supporting the Pres does not let us off the hook collectively for our President's actions. Being President does not relieve the President of responsiblity either.
