What he has done is EARNED is way up. I will tell you from personal experience I grew up poor as poor can be, surviving on my mother's teacher pay (in Utah, none-the-less, where teachers make some of the lowest wages compared to teachers nationally). Over the years my father worked and worked and worked, earning money to go to college, kicking a drug habit, and finding a successful job in which he still works at today. We are now in what is considered the Upper-Middle Class, about where Obama was when he started his political career. I will tell you right now that my family still hold views shared in the social classes that we rose through. If you want to argue that he doesn't connect truly, look at McCain who was born and raised in the Upper Class.
Obama writes more of his speeches than he uses ones prepared. And trust me, who you choose to be your speech writer is highly important. McCain and Palin use the same speechwriters that wrote Bush's speeches.
Yes, change. We need change. Our current system is outdated and obsolete. I'm sure if you actually look into it, Obama's TRUE intentions are to help his fellow people, because unless you've been paying attention, that was the WHOLE REASON WHY HE GOT INTO POLITICS.
Ummm...Nazi's were capitalists, and Hilter hated communism. Check your facts. Plus, there is a HUGE difference between socialism and communism. Canada is a socialist country, China is communist. Socialism is pretty much you pay as much as you can in taxes, ALL of that goes back to the community in forms of schools, roads, health care, in some cases even humanly basic needs like food and shelter. Any money that isn't taxed is used specifically for luxuries. If you check out Obama's plan, it won't raise taxes on Middle Class or lower. That right there throws your socialist argument out the window.
Actually, ever since Bush has gotten into office he has DECREASED taxes on oil companies, and they hit RECORD PROFITS. You can't just give them tax breaks and expect them to be good Samaritans and keep prices low. No they look for maximum profit. By taxing them, he is encouraging small businesses (some who may offer ALTERNATIVE FUELS) to grow; and with his tax cut plan for small businesses, it will be easy for them to rise from the gravel. The reason why alternative fuels aren't around yet is because these greedy oil companies are trying to keep their competitors down at ground zero by using lobbyists to further their goals politically. With the amount of lobbyists in McCain's party, you can guarantee he, too, is trying to further their goals.
As far as Reverend Wright goes, there are much much more worse people out there to take advice from. Look who Palin got blessed by: That guy from Kenya who committed genocide just because he wanted to cleanse the land from witches. That sounds a tad bit more extreme than a guy who is angry a lot. The fact is, the African-American people have undergone prejudice from us white people for so long that really I believe they have the right to bring up race. They had been reminded of their own race since coming to America, so don't be surprised when they use remarks like "that white guy". Reverend Wright is not the only guy who is angry at the all white American institution. Hell, I'm angry about it too!
Ayers was a guy who was actually supported by everyone but the government during the "bombings". The guy hasn't done a single crime since, and he got voted as Citizen of the Year in Chicago. It wasn't until THIS POINT that Obama met him AS A COLLEGE PROFESSOR. Of course they met each other, and of course they worked with each other. Lots of people has met and did work with Ayers, that doesn't make those people terrorists. Mr. McCain himself was part of the Keating Five Scandal in which he was trying to further the political goals of a company (hmm, no surprise there). And if you want to talk about guilt by association or "seeing America as imperfect enough to pall around with terrorists": What about Palin's own association to the Alaskan Secessionist Party who want to Secede from America, with a leader who says "Damn America and God Damn her Institutions"? The thought of Seceding from the Union is considered Treason! And trust me, Palin is more associated with the ASP than Obama is with Ayers.
What about McCain and Palin wanting to FORCE WOMEN TO NOT HAVE AN ABORTION. What about their support in DENYING EQUAL RIGHTS not only to the Gay/Lesbian community, but also to Women's Rights?! Is that not trying to control our life's? What about McCain wanting to open the draft, denying our right to NOT JOIN THE MILITARY. Wiretapping, the Patriot Act (which gives the government the right to arrest you without cause, and charge you without trial as long as the Executive Office deems you "Terrorist". McCain supported both of those. Obama is a HARVARD LAW PROFESSOR. He understands our rights more so than any person on the ticket. I will tell you right now that no matter what he'll respect the constitution and our rights more so than McCain.
If you actually took the time to look into Obama's stands, and stop listening to that stupid right-wing rhetoric then you will see that he has in fact explain his platform, and if you actually stopped to talk to people voting for him, they can tell you what he stands for better than a McCain supporter can do for John.
