- JenniferInMO, on 10/12/2008, -0/+1I have always been intrigued by Ron Paul. In fact, I make a point of watching him whenever he is on TV or radio and I have read much of what he has published. Why couldn't the Republicans have nominated him? It would have been a nail biter all the way and with the racist element it probably would have tipped him over. The best part is that we would have had an honest debate on policy for the first time ever. Republicans need to get their act together because with only one viable national party, the Dems are sure to eventually turn as corrupt as the Republicans.
After this election I will gladly help any organization to push for recognition of a third, fourth and fifth party, or better yet, why not just abolish party affiliation and recognition and make all candidates at all levels of government run on their own merits?
