- CaptCarrot, on 03/02/2009, -13/+350That dihydrogen monoxide will KILL you if it gets in your lungs!
- Landthatilove, on 03/02/2009, -22/+222You can fix un-educated, but you can't fix stupid. "Sheeple" may not be liked, but it's acurate.
- twinklyJesus, on 03/02/2009, -14/+176I'm signing that petition the first chance I get! Something HAS to be done. That particular combination of molecules is extremely volatile! Hydrogen is extremely flammable and Oxygen does nothing but accelerate the burning process. You could see how a large quantity of this used in a forest fire or something could really cause a problem.
DO SOMETHING DIGG! IT MUST BE STOPPED!
(hee-hee) - inactive, on 03/02/2009, -12/+148This is pretty old. I saw this a few years ago, but I loved it. It shows you that these people just grab onto a cause because they feel guilty about their life.
- CaptCarrot, on 03/02/2009, -3/+113It's not widely publicized, but FEMA reports show that there was an INORDINATE quantity of dihydrous monoxide found amid the Hurricane Katrina devastation. Coincidence?
- inactive, on 03/02/2009, -20/+107lol... This reminds me of the Time Tom Green got a bunch of women to sign a petition to stop the "unfair suffrage" of women in America.
- twinklyJesus, on 03/02/2009, -2/+85After the hurricane they found TRAIN CARS full of the stuff. There were black Suburbans that were loaded with it as well. I heard that FEMA may have been shipping it in by truckloads AFTER the hurricane as well.
It's a God damned conspiracy is what it is! - Mpwns, on 03/03/2009, -0/+75it was the man show that did it.
- Landthatilove, on 03/02/2009, -2/+61But it's a hoot if it just goes up someone else nose a little while they're drinking it!
- aletoledo, on 03/02/2009, -25/+76It might be nice if they did another show about Obama. They might ask something to people about voting for a black man for change, then present Alan Keyes.
- caffeinejunkie, on 03/03/2009, -2/+42The point here is not to call these people idiots...its to point out how easy it is to get caught up in something just because it seems like it's good. There are plenty of people who want to trick you with stuff like this petition, think about this video next time someone asks you to support a cause.
- ChronicColonic, on 03/02/2009, -4/+43Bush must have had his secret service ship dihydrous monoxide to New Orleans beforehand!
- inactive, on 03/02/2009, -9/+48You can lead a horse to dihydrogen monoxide but you can't make them drink!
idk??? - waffleninja, on 03/03/2009, -14/+52OLD AS *****
- visionaryIX, on 03/03/2009, -0/+37"I'm familiar with it"
Wow. Just... wow. - twinklyJesus, on 03/02/2009, -1/+37As posted above, it was definitely shipped in after and handed out to unsuspecting civilians, as if it were good for them!
- KibblesnBitts, on 03/03/2009, -5/+37It's now in our atmosphere? Holy Jesus
- tmyprod, on 03/03/2009, -6/+37I still hate the term "sheeple".
- CaptainAmerica1, on 03/02/2009, -4/+35What's "new" is that those who get taken advantage of are so stupid that they do other stupid stuff like elect idiots to Congress and the White House.
They think they are aware and informed...but, in truth they are unaware and misinformed. - oceandead, on 03/03/2009, -7/+37This is also known as testing "out of context". It has been shown that when people are asked questions "out of context" the answers they give are often wrong, even though they may know the correct answer. It has to do with the way the analytical parts of our brain works. For instance, if you are taking a written test, you may easily be able to answer all of the questions correctly - yet when polled with the same questions while walking with a group of people on the sidewalk or are on your way to work or a store or a bar, there is much smaller likelihood of you giving those same correct answers. This is why you have the "man on the street" thing on late night shows. It is more of a trick than anything else.
After I finish my brassica oleracea botrytis, I'm going to go walk my Canis lupus familiaris. When was the last time you referred to water as dihydrogen monoxide? - Madrigalian, on 03/02/2009, -9/+38Outstanding!
- Evilstanley, on 03/03/2009, -4/+29Classic Penn and Teller. If anything, *****! made you at least think before accepting everything blindly.
- kward711, on 03/03/2009, -11/+35are these the same people that voted for Bush? how is this related to politics?
- wishninja, on 03/02/2009, -11/+34I didn't see very many hippies, looked like mostly a regular crowd of people to me.
But the claim was that they use this to try to get money. I imagine you can get people to sign a petition to get some stupid idiot out of your face but how much money could you get to back the cause?
Also you could get guys and some lesbians to sign just about anything if a hot enough girl asks nicely enough. - skyshock1, on 03/03/2009, -9/+32Lemme guess dihydrogen monoxide again? What, was the End Women's Suffrage video unavailable to post?
OLD - Phatlip012, on 03/03/2009, -4/+26Howard Stern did something similar already. This is funny.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyvqhdllXgU - codetastic, on 03/03/2009, -1/+21No, but they can ask what it is first before joining, or at least find out more information. Just shrugging your shoulders and signing makes you an idiot.
- NYankee2003, on 03/03/2009, -0/+20i applaud the effort, but that wasn't funny.
- AoiTakuma, on 03/03/2009, -1/+20Hey if someone with a piece of paper and a camera says it's bad it must be, right?
But seriously? My high school chemistry teacher tried to pull this joke on the class handing out a sheet with all kinds of bad facts about H20. The message of the video is a great one: think about what you're doing! - tgc1, on 03/03/2009, -4/+23There is dihydrogen monoxide in your lungs right now (water vapor, humidity etc). The key difference is not to have your lungs FILLED with it.
- jon31rm, on 03/03/2009, -3/+22It was funny when it was on Showtime... six years ago.
...and still funny now. Dugg. - ZombieSociety, on 03/03/2009, -0/+18And fish ***** in it.
- ancientshoes, on 03/03/2009, -1/+17I laughed
but i'm also drunk - haikuFU, on 03/03/2009, -1/+17You got it wrong:
It is within the realm of possibility to coerce a member of the equine species to a source of oxidized hydrogen, however, one cannot force him to imbibe. - visionaryIX, on 03/03/2009, -1/+16But this isn't a meaningless question. They're signing their name and support behind something which they totally don't understand.
I would never, ever sign a petition without at least attempting to educate myself on the issues. - ftc08, on 03/03/2009, -15/+29This has been on the front page 3 times in the last 2 years.
- FrozenPie, on 03/03/2009, -5/+19***** YOU FRANK!
- psolms, on 03/03/2009, -0/+14Technically, she's not lying. Even though she doesn't know she's not lying.
- spectecjr, on 03/03/2009, -3/+17For most people, this experiment comes under the class of "uneducated". Sheeple would be where you see a bunch of people signing a petition, and sign it because other people are signing it.
People are dumb. A person is smart. It's a good rule of thumb. And the people in this experiment? Uneducated when it comes to chemistry. But not sheeple, per se. - tk0680, on 03/03/2009, -0/+13QUICK FOLKS, GET IN A POLITICAL COMMENT BEFORE THE TOPIC GETS ON TRACK.
- insky60, on 03/03/2009, -6/+19Ok let's make a list of how dangerous Dihydrogen Monoxide really is.
It's found in most water supplies.
It's the number one contributer to greenhouse gasses.
Coal powered energy plants and Nuclear powered energy plants are releasing it into the atmmosphere yet the EPA is just turning a blind eye to it.
It's leaking into the water table from landfills and toxic waste dumps.
It kills more people each year than handguns.
The government is shipping it to third world countries who have no idea how bad it is.
.... - ru1dt, on 03/03/2009, -0/+13We must eliminate Air Supply from our radios!
- amish4play, on 03/03/2009, -4/+16If they did this in some anti-environmentalist rally (or whatever the opposite is), people would refuse to sign it because they would think it's more environmentalist propaganda crap, not because they knew what dihydrogen monoxide is!
Stupidity is pretty universal, guys...
Still funny stuff. - morpheus69, on 03/03/2009, -1/+13Actually, you can die even from DRINKING too much water...
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/2262683/Man ... - johndavidjack, on 03/03/2009, -6/+18I saw this awhile ago, but it was hilarious then, and it's hilarious now...
- oceandead, on 03/03/2009, -1/+13You're pissed I made you look up brassica oleracea botrytis, aren't you?
- Xzn31, on 03/03/2009, -1/+13You realize 80% of Digg would probably sign this right?
- FOR3MAN, on 03/03/2009, -7/+19This is super old, but still funny :)
Buried for superoldedness. - borschwanger, on 03/03/2009, -2/+13yes old but still relevant
- Aerdan, on 03/03/2009, -2/+13Wasn't there a kid that did this exact petition 12 years ago?
