- JKap, on 12/01/2008, -0/+21As I have said before, the true legacy of the Presidency of George W. Bush is that his policies will largely continue under a possible Barack H. Obama administration.
War is peace.
Freedom is slavery.
Ignorance is strength.
As I look at the comments to this article I see that many on the so-called "left" are still shackled by the fraudulent left-right paradigm of the War Party. Gates as Obama's Secretary of "Defense"? Wake up Koolaid-drinkers. It's all there to control you. Two sides of the same coin. - NeoConned08, on 12/01/2008, -0/+14but but but........obama said change.....so that means he wasn't being backed by the same special interests and lobbyist groups that backed the Bush administration....and the Clinton administration....and Elder Bush's administration.........
sorry folks, you fell for the oldest trick in the book. You had your chance to actually foment change in our corrupt Government and you totally blew it. Go Americans!!!! CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE!!!
You see, there was one guy that got more money from active duty military members than all the other candidates from both parties COMBINED. You say you support our troops but most folks ignored the guy they were all throwing their money at. He's also the same guy called Dr.NO because he has refused to be bought by the special interests and lobbyist groups for the last 3 decades. He's the guy that Michael Scheurer, the former head CIA guy of the Bin Laden unit said was the only one that could really effectively combat the problem of terrorism. He's the guy that former Comptroller General David Walker said was one of the only people in Washington recognizing the fiscal trainwreck that is headed our way in the form of unfunded liabilities to the tune of 80 TRILLION dollars over the next 15-20 years. Ron Paul. - dieboldcracy, on 12/01/2008, -0/+8the koolaid drinkers will now say that Obama is showing his diplomacy by swinging to the middle. That he is going to be the Repubs pres as well as the Dems.
same Koolaid, different pitcher - UKLooney, on 12/01/2008, -0/+7Don't feel so bad, most Europeans were fooled by the Obama change rhetoric too.
I look forward to the changes the Republican presidential candidate will promise in 2012... - Jeezopete, on 12/01/2008, -0/+7Kool-aid, kool-aid...tastes great!
