- greenfyre, on 07/06/2009, -7/+213It's obvious why she resigned now ... Stewart and Colbert are on vacation this week
- sisyphus00, on 07/06/2009, -14/+156I was just reading about this at Huffpo. It is hilarious to hear the right wing radio talk show hosts trying to spin Palin's resignation. Stick a fork in Palin - she's done.
- Crass22, on 07/07/2009, -11/+119Reality has a well known liberal bias.
- trolleyfan, on 07/06/2009, -10/+112You know, if there is a *better* way to spread rumors even farther than they already are than by threatening to sue people for spreading rumors...well, I sure don't know what it is. *And* it gives those rumors an extra sheen of reality - because "why would she be suing about them if they weren't real?"
This kinda reaction on her part either requires mild retardation or fairly large psychological problems. Or both. - JoeMondo, on 07/06/2009, -13/+99Trying to make sense of Palin is like trying to make sense of a schizophrenic.
Both have no shared worldview with the human norm, and cannot be understood on those terms. - bicyclethief, on 07/07/2009, -4/+78If she ever tried to run for the Presidency, I can already see the strongest, stickiest spin against her: she's a quitter.
- RiperSnifle, on 07/07/2009, -8/+70Two words: Sarah Failin'.
- poonjob, on 07/07/2009, -13/+73jesus she's a *****
- woofers07, on 07/07/2009, -4/+59Sadly,there's probably a bit of truth to that.
- inactive, on 07/07/2009, -9/+60She's a a beacon of light!
http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae265/palin_che ... - rebotfc, on 07/07/2009, -6/+53Is Palin a corrupt freeloading quitter?
Lawyers please note the question mark! - MikeOxbigg, on 07/07/2009, -5/+51"Gotcha litigation".
- inactive, on 07/06/2009, -10/+54Thats what I like about Sarah, some far left tiny local blog says something and she responds (via national press release) to it as if it were Reuters or AP that wrote the story and it was carried on every paper in the nation. When she really should have had her lawyers send the blogger a letter.
But experienced politicians know full well that you cannot respond to every accusation published in print or online and in some cases you are better off not replying to them because you may give your accuser a national audience. You deliver, on a silver platter, alot of free press to those who are attacking you. - Genecalypse, on 07/07/2009, -4/+46Why is she still in the news anymore goddamn
- BasalCellBossk, on 07/07/2009, -4/+43^ Butthurt Palin fan, folks
- KeithLM, on 07/07/2009, -2/+38You sir, are a genius. I hadn't even thought of that.
I'm sure they'll have some fun with that rambling speech she gave last week when they get back. Granted that kind of comedy writes itself. I could see Tina Fey just reciting that word for word and getting a lot of laughs. - liquisoft, on 07/07/2009, -4/+38I'm pretty sure we'll all continue writing whatever we want.
- WorldLeader, on 07/07/2009, -5/+38Man, Palin must be in some really deep trouble. Why else would her and her lawyers be so aggressive in shooting down any rumors or hints of investigations? Why was she so nervous looking during her latest "press conference?"
There is something big beneath this all. Something big enough that even an idiot like her knows to leave town before it goes public. - BasalCellBossk, on 07/07/2009, -3/+34I do hope she is. It would be hilariously funny to see her try. She has absolutely no hope at all of even being nominated now.
- woofers07, on 07/07/2009, -5/+36The sobering truth is the large amount of people/***** in this country that would still vote for her if she does run in 2012.
- bicyclethief, on 07/07/2009, -5/+34ORLY?
You need some sort of a resume to run for the White House. You realize this? - RocketGib, on 07/07/2009, -3/+31Accusations of false statements, especially when you're making them against a public figure (a politician) are still protected under the 1st Amendment and are not slander. Besides, if she has something to hide then of course she'd throw all the punches to keep people from finding out the truth. Besides, what about all those people bashing her during the election?
- bjornski, on 07/07/2009, -4/+31She couldn't hack it as Governor, so she's gonna run for President?
Great thinking there, Sparky!
Putin wouldn't need to bring an army to defeat her. Just have Russian comedians tell mean stories about her! She'll stomp her feet and go home! - PorkTornado1102, on 07/07/2009, -1/+28She looks butthurt in that picture.
- Swivelstick, on 07/07/2009, -1/+27Why are you insulting millions of schizophrenics? Much easier to understand then Palin.
- smacksaw, on 07/07/2009, -3/+28Well, you're the one reading Digg. And diggers are reporting the same factual information on HuffPo and mainstream media outlets, which is that she resigned and it's generally fishy when done on a long weekend.
Are you saying she's not a quitter? - ethan406, on 07/07/2009, -1/+26Yeah, and Obama is a Muslim who was born in Kenya and attended a madrassa in Indonesia.
- smacksaw, on 07/07/2009, -6/+29FTA: "What did she expect?"
She expected us to be in tears, completely shattered by the news. She expected us to break into a spontaneous apology and beg her to stay Governor until we could elect her President. - walrusonion, on 07/07/2009, -8/+29when will this dumb ***** go away
- bjornski, on 07/07/2009, -3/+24All Tina has to do is read it verbatim, like she did on SNL.
- smacksaw, on 07/07/2009, -3/+24No, you're so wrong.
She's quitting being Governor so she can run for the White House and quit her run for President.
Ever since she was a little girl, she always wanted to quit her run for President. Now she is one step closer to achieving her goal of quitting the Presidential race in 2011. - elijahyossie, on 07/07/2009, -12/+33Silly cow!
- aeck, on 07/07/2009, -3/+23Just like when she was blasting Letterman over and over again - which led to more people hearing the joke, and Letterman's ratings to soar.
Unless, of course, that was her intention. - baldr, on 07/07/2009, -3/+21so true, they even have a name for it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streisand_effect - bjornski, on 07/07/2009, -5/+23Were they wrong about her?
Were you? - rabidjester, on 07/07/2009, -4/+22Clever ***** right there! It's funny because it kinda sorta almost not really rhymes!
- deathfix, on 07/07/2009, -3/+20Dugg for truthiness.
- msles59130, on 07/07/2009, -3/+20I didn't hear it on any major news outlets this weekend, just speculation on the internet. But thanks to the letter that her lawyer sent, I am now hearing ALL about it.
She really needs to get out of the public light. She can obviously dish it, but sure can't take it. - CrimsonBlur, on 07/07/2009, -3/+19Bloggers have no need to worry about accusations of slander. I'm sure you have no idea what I mean by that, but that's the point. You just don't have any idea what you're talking about.
- siszam, on 07/07/2009, -1/+17Palin isn't schizophrenic. She's a narcissist. If you look up the behavior of narcissists her behavior makes sense.
- ethan406, on 07/07/2009, -4/+20But she already resigned! Where would she embezzle money to pay for those lawsuits?
- RegularUser, on 07/07/2009, -7/+23Pathetic.
- BasalCellBossk, on 07/07/2009, -3/+19That is stupid. Mind-numbingly stupid. You cannot slander someone in a written document. That you do not know this undermines any point you might be trying to make.
- bjornski, on 07/07/2009, -1/+15Then she obviously didn't think her cunning plan all the way through.
- teebird, on 07/07/2009, -2/+16@poprocksandsoda
I don't remember the last well-informed statement you've ever made on Digg.
Libel isn't defined as statements that a person doesn't like or finds hurtful or inconvenient. There's a legal definition that you could find online or in any good press organization's handbook. If you bothered to learn something instead of spouting ill-informed opinions, you'd also learn that the libel laws treat public officials and public figures differently from the rest of us. Further, you'd learn that reporting the fact that someone else has made an accusation and including correct attribution in that report, even if that accusation later proves to be false, is not per se libelous.
Opinions aren't enough...you also need to have a clue. - idbjoshm, on 07/07/2009, -9/+23The best defense of defamation, is the truth! Spread the truth, don't fear litigation. The masses must know of this corrupt politician.
- smacksaw, on 07/07/2009, -1/+15Whatever her affliction, she is an extremely unlikeable person.
And for her frothing minions - they don't really like her as much as they worship her. - tnoy, on 07/07/2009, -1/+15She's been subjected to a lot of it. After all, she does read all the newspapers and magazines.
- aeck, on 07/07/2009, -2/+16Just like when she was blasting Letterman over and over again - which led to more people hearing the joke, and Letterman's ratings to soar.
Unless, of course, that was her intention. - ethan406, on 07/07/2009, -3/+17Precisely. Is Obama suing the wackos who still insist on the birth certificate "issue?" We're just laughing at them!
