You know what's funny?
I am very liberal in my social views (pro gay marriage, pro personal freedoms, pro socialized medicine) but very conservative (as in actual conservative, not the neocon con crap) in my fiscal views, in my political views (no useless entanglements for America, said the founding fathers...).
Obama is no marxist.
Obama is centre right, like every democrat.
There is no left wing in this country, only centre right and far, far right (fascist).
My blog is read by leftists, centrists and paleo conservatives and libertarians.
And you know what?
We ALL agree that the pro Israel Lobby is a bad thing for America.
Funny that, eh? - chessmasterjoe, on 11/08/2008, -2/+13The correct term for Obama is fascist or maybe corporatist. If the MSM was anything but corporations we might get the truth. They are owned by the same banksters as Obama and McCain. They all belong to the CFR along with Obama's entire administration.

- americangoy, on 11/09/2008, -0/+3Yes, Jennifer - Obama is all about magical rainbows and unicorns.
That's what the appointment of Rahm Emanuel proves - the son of a terrorist, an Israeli army soldier (never served in the American army), who supports the Iraq War.
Obama - good!
Democrats - good!
Republicans - bad!
McCain - bad!
Bailout, FISA, Patriot Act, Iraq War - both parties vote the same...
But but... Obama is different! - americangoy, on 11/09/2008, -0/+3"Read "The Audacity of Hope" and then try to tell me what political leanings Obama has. He does not fit into any one mold. Yes, yes.
It is very hard to tell what political leanings Mr. Obama has.
He does not fit into any mold.
That is why it is relatively easy for the democrats to place a label on him (liberal, left wing) - their ill informed base couldn't figure it out for themselves and jumped on whatever hopeful slogan term they were fed.
So, when we stay the course in Iraq, when we bomb Iran, when the foreign policy does not change - will you then open your eyes Jennifer? - Waiting2awake, on 11/08/2008, -1/+3Yes he is....
- inactive, on 11/08/2008, -4/+6Obama's a typical corporate liberal. He's in bed with the huge corporations and the globalist agenda, but talks populism. He used to be more radical, even defining a phony narrative of racial oppression to disguise his mommy/daddy issues, and I think he and his wife are fueled by a radical hatred of white Americans. However, he has also profited handsomely from the racial spoils system, which runs on a public etho-Marxist ideology, all the while growing fat from the millions of dollars. He's a "professional" Marxist in a $1000 suit, not a true Marxist living on ramen. True socialism requires a virtual vow of poverty, which one early Jewish socialist revealed 2,000 years ago is harder for the wealthy to do than pass through the eye of a needle.
What Obama shares with most Congressional liberals and liberal activists is a dishonest Marxian vernacular used to hide a naked power grab: Red on the outside, green on the inside, just like rotten meat. Hillary is famous for this -- getting out of her limo to preach about the "growing gap between the haves and the have-nots" -- and then returning to her illegally-obtained multi-million dollar mansion in NY. - inactive, on 11/10/2008, -0/+1"But but... Obama is different!"
I have a new tagline, and it's stolen... - inactive, on 11/10/2008, -0/+0"a hybrid philosophy based upon capitalism."
It's only new to YOU, Jenn. Those with an education are familiar with the gamut of hybrids running from Third Path, to Corporatism, to Mercantilism, and beyond to undiluted fascism.

Could you at least spare us the meaningless, irritating buzzwords while you piss on us and call it rain? - JenniferInMO, on 11/09/2008, -3/+2Anyone who says Obama is a Socialist or a Marxist is just plain uninformed.
Read "The Audacity of Hope" and then try to tell me what political leanings Obama has. He does not fit into any one mold. That is why it was relatively easy for the Republicans to place a label on him -- their ill-informed base couldn't figure it out for themselves and jumped on whatever scary term they were fed.
I think Obama is very conservative when it comes to the Constitution, but he isn't a conservative extremist like Bork. He has a reverence for the Constitution and what it stands for as well as a deep understanding about the philosophies our Founders and Framers ascribed to.
When it comes to economic matters he has a liberal agenda in that he believes the government's responsibility to educate our children, he believes there is a social responsibility to frame all policies in a way that helps regular people with opportunities, but he is conservative in that he believes that the government's role is to provide incentive for the private sector to partner with government, unions and schools to provide those opportunities.
He is pragmatic in that he likes to find several objectives for his programs to meet. He believes it is the government's job to inspire, promote and incentivize the private sector rather than doing everything itself. Obama also believes in promoting opportunities and inspiring personal responsibility.
Obama's philosophy of governing is nothing like Marxism or Socialism. It is something completely different and new, yet it is also a hybrid philosophy based upon capitalism.
