- Maddoktor2, on 05/21/2009, -17/+199A comprehensive summary of the GOP:
Bullies hate it when they finally get their asses kicked by those they were bullying. - sarahlee, on 05/21/2009, -16/+166As clowns go - they aren't very funny.
- seanstuart, on 05/22/2009, -17/+89They're doing the same ridiculous ***** they've done for the past decade, it's just that the media and the public aren't buying it anymore.
Cheney was just out there the other day giving a speech laden with a million "9-11"s. It used to strike fear into the public and dampen critical thought, but it doesn't work anymore, yet they desperately still try. He seems totally unaware that the Republicans endless repetition of it turned it into a joke by 2004.
The Republicans are spending their time calling the Democrats names. The media used to repeat these labels as obedient mouthpieces. Now they don't.
They're still paying Frank Luntz millions on what words to use to scare the public away from progressive policies ("government takeover of healthcare"). But he just doesn't seem to have the results that he used to. - JoeParanoid, on 05/21/2009, -13/+78Still, I would not underestimate an opponent, under the P.T. Barnum rule of never overestimating the intelligence of the public.
- inactive, on 05/22/2009, -14/+75FTA: Following the Republican Party of late has been a movingly depressing experience, sort of like watching Old Yeller die — if Old Yeller were a worm-infested feral bitch who spent the past eight years biting children at bus stops and ***** in neighborhood swimming pools.
Wow. ***** awesome. I want to get paid to write like that.
I'm totally going to go buy the mag now. - inactive, on 05/22/2009, -11/+67I think it's funny that old deadeye dick can mouth off about the president now that's he's out of office after starting two wars and killing the economy. How dare he talk against the president when we are at war this is not good for the safety of our country.
- novenator, on 05/21/2009, -21/+71RollingStone is really publishing some great political commentary the last few months.
- sizzzzlerz, on 05/22/2009, -20/+70When your entire policy is based on bibles, the gays, and, ummmm, what ever else it is they jabber about, you're bound to look silly.
- manjar, on 05/22/2009, -8/+44Did anyone else think it said "Republicans Now Ass Clowns"?
- homercles337, on 05/21/2009, -4/+38They are like that clown in Stephen King's "It"
- inactive, on 05/22/2009, -3/+35ah the irony is great. That right there is what makes me have no respect whatsoever for republicans, the politicians and the people who vote for them.
- shininia, on 05/22/2009, -7/+38What's the only problem with narcissism?
It's named after somebody else. - cathbard, on 05/22/2009, -4/+34What do they mean starting to look like clowns? Bush created a golden age for comedians all around the world. Not a day went by without him saying something ridiculous. And as for the rest of the party - they put him in charge didn't they? The Republican Party have been a laughing stock for ages.
- inactive, on 05/22/2009, -2/+31evidence of the bullying? I'll wait on the edge of my seat.
- Dipsomaniac, on 05/22/2009, -2/+31Only in the mind of a Republican would winning an election be called bullying.
- novenator, on 05/21/2009, -4/+31Republicans have no sense of humor. Any Republicans out there willing to prove me wrong? Tell a joke, right here and now and let Digg be the judge.
1 to 5 stars. - jadedsunrise, on 05/22/2009, -7/+33You are seriously a moron if you believe that the Democratic party is going to destroy the country. It's things like this that make me think Republicans are a joke. Even in your sarcastic comment, you attempt to fear monger by displaying a general assumption.
Once Republicans learn to moderate their warnings, I think we'll be in better shape. - seltaeb4, on 05/22/2009, -3/+28"Pennywise" ...and pound-foolish.
Is there a better description of Republican fiscal policy? - DangerCollie, on 05/22/2009, -0/+25Not only that but countries paying higher taxes and investing that money in better health care, better unemployment wages, better education and tighter regulation of their financial markets are weathering the economic downturn with far less fear and stress than we are.
And where to do Republicans invest our tax dollars? Iraq, Afghanistan, the military and tax cuts for the wealthy. The European way is better. They pay higher taxes, but they get more back for it. Call it what you want, but it works. - inactive, on 05/22/2009, -21/+45Too ***** bad, look what happened when people "ignored" politics. ***** evil ***** ruled the country.
- COINTELPROAgent, on 05/21/2009, -14/+38Masters of Evil Politics? Pffft, I have a PhD now.
- 8FoldPath, on 05/22/2009, -4/+27Better than the Republican Fascist Party.
- TheCollective00, on 05/22/2009, -2/+25A man and a friend are playing golf one day at their local golf course. One of the guys is about to chip onto the green when he sees a long funeral procession on the road next to the course. He stops in mid-swing, takes off his golf cap, closes his eyes, and bows down in prayer. His friend says: “Wow, that is the most thoughtful and touching thing I have ever seen. You truly are a kind man.” The man then replies: “Yeah, well we were married 35 years.”
- jadedsunrise, on 05/22/2009, -9/+32Again, Your very comment is the reason why people can't take republicans seriously. You assume that if your way is not being done, then the world is doomed. This worked for several years with terrorism, it will not work in the political spectrum.
- inactive, on 05/22/2009, -12/+33no, but I don't think that they're evil.
- inactive, on 05/22/2009, -3/+24OMG THE GAYS!
- sizzzzlerz, on 05/22/2009, -2/+22Lets see, which party is pushing a bill to make 2010 the year of the bible?
- jdenzer, on 05/22/2009, -3/+22@iamthearm
"Remember how Obama was talking about how hard it's going to be to get out of this?"
That is not fear mongering, that is being an adult and telling the American people the hard truth that it is a difficult road to recovery. Republicans telling the American people that the Presidents spending bill will destroy our economy, before it has a chance to work. Now that is fear mongering. - smack1700, on 05/22/2009, -15/+33Only problem is, Republicans aren't being sent to detention or the prinicipal's office.
- mesostinky, on 05/22/2009, -1/+18Regardless of where you stand on the political spectrum I never understood why people were not rioting over the super rich getting that massive tax break under Bush. You didn't have to be a Democrat to realize that was a huge slap in the face to the vast majority of this county.
- Elranzer, on 05/22/2009, -0/+17You mean like The Patriot Act™...?
- sizzzzlerz, on 05/22/2009, -3/+20Still bitter, eh?
- Dustin00, on 05/22/2009, -1/+17govsucks:
That would be the Generational Theft that the baby boomers have planned on since they had babies.
Democrat and Republican 50/60 somethings agree: you ain't changing that. - Aadain, on 05/22/2009, -5/+20I'm sorry, this is a discussion for serious adults who actually read and educate themselves. The Fox News forums are that way -----------> if all you want to do is drink the Republican Koolade.
- durruticolumn, on 09/18/2009, -1/+16
"the Europeans get to sit back because America is the one out front confronting terrorism. "
You've got to be kidding me.
You know, the world didn't start on September 11, 2001. - inactive, on 05/22/2009, -9/+24dude you don't know what the ***** you're talking about. and your name is stupid.
- 8FoldPath, on 05/22/2009, -4/+18It's hatred and greed people are trying to get away from and the right wing will keep losing elections until they figure that out.
If it wasn't for the terrorist threat, the GOP would have been dead a long time ago. - inactive, on 05/22/2009, -5/+19You can filter out most political stories.
- roodammy44, on 05/22/2009, -7/+21One reason it's one sided might be because it's an international audience, and "patriotism", anti gay and guns just don't matter to us.
Also, it could reflect on the fact that most of us in the comments section are literate and enjoy debating until some sort of truth is found. In my experience of the past 10 years, republicans don't seem to be interested in debating real issues or the truth of any matter.
In europe, our entire political spectrum is shifted left from the US's - the republicans seem almost extremist in the sense that middle east dictators are
That is why digg and comments seem "one sided" to you. - Andrwmorph, on 05/22/2009, -2/+14Vote for what you think is right, not what your team is voting for.
- Andrwmorph, on 05/22/2009, -2/+14Or Killer Clowns from Outer Space!
- DrVic, on 05/22/2009, -5/+17They hated *****, that was one of out problems with them.
- mesostinky, on 05/22/2009, -6/+18Nope, not perfect by any measure. But when it comes to healthcare, education, and actually trying to protect citizens from abuse we are much better off with them at the helm. Still *****, but better off.
- SpinningHead, on 05/22/2009, -1/+13"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes that you can do these things. Among them are a few Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or businessman from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."
President Dwight D. Eisenhower, l952 - 8FoldPath, on 05/22/2009, -10/+21Dems aren't exactly the opposite of the GOP. They're just better equipped to rule a large government.
- roodammy44, on 05/22/2009, -4/+14*rises into socialism
There, I corrected it for you.
I think it's funny how americans are terrified of helping each other. - neoquietus, on 05/22/2009, -0/+10Grammar, spelling, complete sentences, logical thinking; all these things weep when they read your post.
- JoeMondo, on 05/22/2009, -5/+15Rammed through Congress? How so?
- 8FoldPath, on 05/22/2009, -2/+12Get used to it. We've tried crony capitalism and that ***** is even worse. It's time to move forward like our European friends.
- nitinfacebook, on 05/22/2009, -2/+12yes i like it
