Of Course It's Fair That They Have Guns And You Don't
chicagotribune.com — Since Chicago's anti-handgun law went into effect in 1982, only two classes of people have had ready access to firearms: The criminals. And the politicians. Cynics who scoff at everything decent suggest these are one and the same, but taxpayers know the difference. It is all about power in the end.

"Criminals are often poor people who are led away in chains and go to state prison, for decades or lifetimes, for using guns as weapons against taxpayers. Politicians wear nice suits, drive luxury cars, and when they go to prison—federal prison, and only for a few months—they go away for using government as a weapon against taxpayers.
Criminals get guns the old fashioned way, by stealing them or buying them illegally. Politicians write the anti-gun laws, and wonder of wonders, they often exempt themselves and call themselves peace officers."
The author names a couple of names, but fails to mention that Daley is currently supporting an amnesty for handgun registration in Chicago. Interestingly enough, it covers only a short time frame and a very small number of people, including a big-time political supporter who failed to keep his guns registered and got busted. Its the Chicago way. - RuffRidr, on 06/19/2008, -0/+10Gun control is more about the "control" than it is about the "gun". It's not suprising that politicians (especially from Chicago) would have this "for thee, but not for me" attitude.
- IconoclastStill, on 06/19/2008, -0/+11The arrogant elitism of the ***** dhimmicrap establishment is second only to the far left moonbats in Follyweird. They should have sharpened telephone poles rammed into their alimentary canals and then used for the mop heads to clean sewage tunnels.
- novaculus, on 06/19/2008, -2/+6Icon I've noticed you seem to be really laid back lately. Did they increase the dosage on your meds? C'mon, don't hold back, tell us how you really feel!
- IconoclastStill, on 06/20/2008, -0/+4Well, ya know, nova, I really hate to cause the lefties to put even more funds into their diaper budgets . . . .

- Stevanoski, on 06/19/2008, -2/+8Will never forget the story, during the cold war, when in East Ger. a criminal was so surprised by a homeowner grabbing the shotgun out of his hands that, during a home invasion, he ran like a Democrat looking at victory in Iraq runs for the white flag cache.
- lechtellhavel, on 06/19/2008, -0/+6It's all about power. We're all equal, it just happens that politicians are more equal than the rest of us. So much for equality while liberty takes another hit. Creeping fascism... guess I'd better start practicing clicking my heels and saying, “Yes, my Fuhrer!”
- personalj, on 06/20/2008, -0/+2More like, "Yes Comrade!".
- isparadiselost, on 06/20/2008, -0/+2***** 'em. I don't give a rat's ass what their unConstitutional "laws" state. I always carry wherever I go. Attempting to jack my car will get you a .45ACP breather hole in your forehead regardless of locale.
While I would prefer not to shoot a cop, I have no problem doing so. Some smart ass cop figures he's above the law and I go to the trunk. Reminds me of that prick after Katrina talking about how "their guns were bigger" so people relented. I can assure you that my guns are as big or bigger and my body armor is top of the line. Try to violate my 4th amendment rights and we'll leave it up to the Grand Jury to decide.
