- DerangedPenguin, on 03/21/2008, -0/+2Hate, prejudice and bigotry have no boundaries. Love, Acceptance and Understanding are much harder for the human mind to attain. I am the first to admit that I don't always live up to the standards I would like the world to have. I sometime catch myself feeling things about others based on such trivial things as the style of their hair, the sound of their voice, their choice of music, where they were born and raised, their political leanings, their "sexual identity", their religious views and yes even sometime the color of their skin. Generally someone enters my life to get me back on the right track. I however remain stead fast in my views that have proven over time to be accurate, I will not play the politically correct games in order not to hurt someone feelings. I have a problem with "stupid" people, no not those who are mentally challenged due to some genetic anomaly, rock or windshield to the head, but those who chose not to exercise those few kilos of brain cells.
A good friend of mine summed it up best when he said. "We all have one thing in common, we all bleed the same color." Apologizes to Horseshoe Crabs.
There is an old Arab proverb that states, "Show me your friends and I will show you your future." I have friends and acquaintances who would make Rush Limbaugh look like a political centrist and I have a few friends who make the most liberal of Democrats look like Republicans. Fun on a Friday night invite both groups to a dinner party and serve a couple of glasses of wine or beer and start a conversation about politics. - Hurricane, on 03/21/2008, -1/+2Barack Obama is a test of wether the American dream can evolve or perish as dinosaurs did.
