- MadKennyP, on 05/08/2008, -15/+6No problem. McCain flip-flops like a just-caught fish in the bottom of a rowboat. This'll be fun.
- BooObama, on 05/08/2008, -4/+14Obama has enough poor policy plans to sink him like a rock.
- these3remain, on 05/08/2008, -2/+12I hope you are right; however it is amazing how incredibly clueless Americans are; some willfully and others are just ignorant and want to be "trendy" when they vote. It's frightening.
- IconoclastStill, on 05/08/2008, -2/+10He doesn't have plans - just talking points and superior rhetoric; he is naught but an empty suit with a far left, anti-American agenda.
- onthewriteside, on 05/08/2008, -1/+9It's nice to see you stepping up to challenge Mad Kenny! ROFL
- MadKennyP, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1No problem. I can start pointing out McCain's flip-flops and horrible policies any time it's needed. The fact that he wants to continue Bush's horribly failed policies means he will sink like a stone.
- MadKennyP, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Here's my new favorite:
The 10-Second Flip-Flop:
O’REILLY: Did you vote for President Bush?
MCCAIN: Of course not. I campaigned all over this country for him.
O’REILLY: So you voted for President Bush.
MCCAIN: Of course. I mean, that’s a ridiculous question.

- these3remain, on 05/08/2008, -2/+13Republicans haven't given conservatives any choice in nominating McCain. But should Obamination get the nomination and/or win the election, you can kiss the US good-bye, as we know it and be certain that God is judging this nation or on the brink. Many voters have no idea what "communism" is and have the fallacious notion that taxing "big business" to pay for everything will solve the nation's ills. What these same ignoramuses that support this man fail to understand is that corporations don't pay taxes. And that any attempt to penalize "Big business" results in a higher cost of living since it is only passed on to the consumer. They also don't understand that "redistributing wealth" , i.e., taking from the rich to meet the needs of the poor is pure communism. For some incredibly stupid reason , they seem to also think that "universal healthcare" will be "free". Those who know better know that the already overburdened American taxpayer will be paying for it and seeing the dwindling amount in net pay shrink even more.
- CarStan, on 05/08/2008, -2/+1You are right. And continuing a due overlong war, even establishing new bases, for the next '100 years', or 'bombing Iran' are exactly the things the already overburndened american taxpayer needs to get a relief in his wallet, right?
- these3remain, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1And you are assuming that I am a republican based upon what? BTW, the economic woes that our country is suffering will not be solved by being out of Iraq, either. Another misconception held by those who are non-thinkers. While it may "seem" as though all that money being spent there would solve the US's economic problems, funding the war is not what is causing the economy to tank nor will withdrawal provide ANY taxpayer relief. Obviously you are clueless as to why the economy is tanking - it has nothing to do with the billions of dollars funding the war. Should the US pull out today, you will see NO taxpayer relief nor economic upturn as a result.
- CarStan, on 05/08/2008, -2/+1You are right. And continuing a due overlong war, even establishing new bases, for the next '100 years', or 'bombing Iran' are exactly the things the already overburndened american taxpayer needs to get a relief in his wallet, right?

- onthewriteside, on 05/08/2008, -2/+9I obviously could not agree more Iconoclast and I meant what I wrote the day Obamalamadingdong goes on the ticket is the day I support McCain although as you said he is DEFIANTLY no prise!
- onthewriteside, on 05/08/2008, -1/+6oops I meant PRIZE lol
- Navigator7, on 05/08/2008, -1/+3LOL....
Maybe .... Obama comes with a "price" we can't afford?

- Navigator7, on 05/08/2008, -2/+8In order for Obama to implement any of his ideas, he must first "take" from the current productive members of society so he can then "give" the essence of the producers to non producers. His ideology punishes the producers and enables the "motivationally challenged".
Obama's ideas punishes the ideology America needs and feeds a cancer none of us need.
It's not a question whether he is black, a male, a good speaker, a senator..... Where is the Beef?
I'm not a McCain fan. However, if our country where like a ship at sea, I believe McCain capable of insuring the water integrity of the vessel by keeping radical Islam bedded down in the sand instead of bedded down in our cities.
Obama will certainly have the nicest vessel afloat .... above the water line!- groovsmyth, on 05/08/2008, -1/+3...except, of course, for the border/sovereignty leak... which only seems fixable to McCompromise by following Bush's Rx of gutting the Constitution and giving away the store.
An Obama - McCain race will be tomato v. tomAHto.
McCain will take away your gun just as fast as Obama will. But he'll evoke a smile as you hand it over saying, "Man, I'm glad I'm giving it to a nice Republican!"

- cashman57, on 05/08/2008, -3/+9If Obama wins he could come in third in the general election given the policies speeches and votes in his brief history as a politician.
We don't know much about Obama when he was in the Illinois Senate because he destroyed all of the records from his office so that we could not see who he had been meeting with and how much of his activity was quid pro quo.
In his entire political career his most outstanding show of consistency was with regard to guns. He would ban guns based on criteria that shows his true intent is to take away our right to be secure and to keep and bear arms.
He supports making you a criminal if you use your gun in self defense, even if you did not fire it. He proved that with his vote.He supports banning semi-automatic firearms, the kind that does not kick and is preferred by women and elderly for that reason. He proved that with votes and public statements. He would ban guns which have an optional folding stock for easy storage. he proved that with speeches and statements and vote.He would ban law abiding Americans who live in the inner cities from owning firearms. I guess he figures you do not have a right to be secure in the cities or he believes that you have no need to defend yourself and your loved ones because there is no violent crime in the inner city. In a bill he submitted in Congress we would all be barred from owning "small arms". That is part of the global poverty scheme.
For that reason alone he should never be allowed in the White House without a visitors pass.
He believes all of these infringements on our right to be secure and to keep and bear arms are necessary for our security. He is surrounded by people with guns 24/7 for his security.
Add to that his belief that volcanoes do not exist and you get the picture of a man too easily fooled and too anti-Constitution to be qualified to be president.- CarStan, on 05/08/2008, -3/+2And why does he NEED to be sorrounded by people with guns for his security? Because every stupid redneck that might want to kill him could buy a gun at the next Wal-Mart to do so. (warning: satiric exageration).
Why can't gun freaks understand that the dangerous people they want to protect themselves and their familys from, are only allowed to become this dangerous, because it is too easy to get guns.
How do you want to protect your family from this dangerous world by making it an even more dangerous world? I dont get it.
Just because the right to have a gun appropiate and worth being constitutionalised back then in the times of the wild west, doesn't mean it has to be appropriate today. Or atleast not everywhere. IMO gun laws should be stricter at least in big citys. I dont think the grounding fathers took Million-cities, street gangs and organized crime into account back than.- Qong, on 05/08/2008, -2/+3You're ignorant.
There was no wild wild west during the time that the constitution was ratified. And the second amendment was most definitely not put in place to protect the people from criminals. How ignorant of you to think that.
Way to try to take away peoples freedom you fascist.- CarStan, on 05/08/2008, -2/+2You know, back in fascist Germany we had the freedom to shoot everyone we want (as long as they were jews, elderly, retards or cripples, or communists, or socialists, or talking bad about the führer.., so nearly everyone, if we didnt liked them).
/s
Seems like you were right about the second amendment not being about protecting people from criminals. Instead it's about being able to form a militia to protect the country from opressors. Yeah, thats an even more up-to-date cause than protecting yourself: Protecting your country from the British Empire and the French.
Btw, i'm in no means against the second amandment. It's just that it's much too easy nowadays to get a gun. There's a huge differnce between having the principle RIGHT to own a gun, and allowing irresponsible people that only want to own guns for all the wrong reasons, to get them ridicoulusly easy.
And on a last note:
I find my right to LIVE (wich i also find more precious) much more threatened by knowing that every second person walking by me at night might be wearing a gun, than i find my right to own a gun threatened by stricter laws, that require to prove myself as a sane and responsible member of society first before being allowed to own enough guns to build my own personal army with.- Qong, on 05/09/2008, -2/+2I of course agree that people not responsible enough to handle and use firearms should not own them. But the bottom line is that the vast majority of Americans are more than capable to handle and properly use all types of firearms, and since it is a right granted by our constitution, they should be able to do so.
- these3remain, on 05/09/2008, -3/+1You are either very young or very ignorant. I am not a gun owner, but for the first time in my adult life I am seriously considering owning one. Why? First of all, while I still can. Second of all, the Founding Fathers were NOT stupid. They knew what a tyrannical government can do and be which is why the 2nd amendment exists - and was a priority, too! This country and it's people may need to be armed very soon against the many forces that seek to destroy this country from within - it is dolts like yourself who are willing to give up the few freedoms we have remaining out of fear and "peace at any price" type of thinking.
- CarStan, on 05/08/2008, -2/+2You know, back in fascist Germany we had the freedom to shoot everyone we want (as long as they were jews, elderly, retards or cripples, or communists, or socialists, or talking bad about the führer.., so nearly everyone, if we didnt liked them).
- Qong, on 05/08/2008, -2/+3You're ignorant.
- Nannybell, on 05/09/2008, -1/+1Cashman, you made these statements:
(1) "We don't know much about Obama when he was in the Illinois Senate because he destroyed all of the records from his office so that we could not see who he had been meeting with and how much of his activity was quid pro quo."
He destroyed his records? Please provide more information on that.
(2) "Add to that his belief that volcanoes do not exist ..."
He doesn't believe volcanoes exist?
I am in no way an Obama supporter or a liberal by any stretch, but am just asking for clarification of these remarks and additional details about it.
- CarStan, on 05/08/2008, -3/+2And why does he NEED to be sorrounded by people with guns for his security? Because every stupid redneck that might want to kill him could buy a gun at the next Wal-Mart to do so. (warning: satiric exageration).
- MrDuke77, on 05/08/2008, -1/+6He is the biggest bad lefty wolf in sheep’s clothing. Smooth talker who will be throwing OUR money around like a drunken Kennedy in an effort to BUY his way into office. Nice wrapping around a maggot-infested rotting product.
- onthewriteside, on 05/08/2008, -0/+6Don't hold back Mr. Duke.

- groovsmyth, on 05/08/2008, -1/+6I guess that's what lefties do... laugh at sadness.
- Qong, on 05/08/2008, -2/+2John McCain is a war hero and has been serving his country, our country, for the vast majority of his life. I can't think of another candidate that would be more appropriate for our Presidency.
- DavidS9, on 05/08/2008, -1/+3I can think of several but on the flip side I can think of 2 that could destroy this country in their 4 years in office.
- MrDuke77, on 05/08/2008, -1/+4Based on his commitment to winning the war against terrorists, his vow to pick conservative judges, and his pledge not to raise taxes/make the GWB cuts permanent, he is certainly better than the two REAL Democrat jokers.
However, I must respectfully disagree about your assertion that "...there is no other candidate more appropriate for our Presidency..."
McCain's admirable service to our Country does not erase his many pathetically poor political stunts/errors including his attack on freedom of speech via “campaign finance reform”, his joining with other liberals in their environmental extremism, his part in forming the extra Constitutional gang of Senators that helped to block qualified conservative judges, his baseless attack against FELLOW heros (Swift Boaters) who EARNED their right to voice their strenuous opposition to Kerry, and especially his part in the sham Senate impeachment “trial” that allowed clintoon to escape his just desserts.
