- Timmaay, on 10/12/2007, -10/+77Bill O'Reilly is an arrogant bastard. (let the digg down begin)
- taylorhayward, on 10/12/2007, -4/+61Thanks Bill I'll send out the memo.
- hipnerd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+55Leave him alone, he has managed to move on from "B-b-but Clinton!" to "B-b-but Kerry!" That's progress.
- whiskeymb, on 10/12/2007, -5/+54The man has countless useful plans for iraq... he just can't tell us cause that would give terrorists too much info.
Ah Bill, once again filling my "crazy pundit" quota for the day. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+48I watched his show last night for the first time in 3 years.
Was curious to see his reaction to the big blue wave.
He hasn't changed one iota.
Still a pompous ass. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+39@JohnCrichton
holy ***** man are you realy still ranting about Kerry? that was SO 2 years ago.. *sighs* - techweenie1, on 10/12/2007, -7/+37digg down...what are you kidding? This is Digg...+1,000 for you...-1,000 for me.
- dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -8/+37O RLY?
- psyops, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25the world is left leaning.
btw, 150,000 dead civilians ? i've heard estimates putting the number near 400,000+ over the course of the whole war. - emorphien, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24is digg that left, or does digg just realize that oreilly is an extreme idiot (we're not that kind to extreme-idiot democrats either)
- TruthElixirX, on 10/12/2007, -7/+23Why would you get dugg down for saying that on digg (which is a more left leaning site) in an article INSULTING Bill O'Reilly for being a moron?
- Quag, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19"Reality has a well known liberal bias..."
- MarkCiccone, on 10/12/2007, -9/+23The violence is unbelievable, an Iraqi official came out and said the civial death toll is easily 150,000...
http://digg.com/world_news/Iraqi_Official_150_000_Civilians_Dead - tsf5000, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16My plan for Iraq:
Send Bill to the front lines. Since he obviously knows so much, he should be able to take care of everything. - xrisnothing, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17I don't ever want to hear "republican" and "neo-con" again.
- evensong, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Now that the 'crats have taken over, O'Reilly is just going to QQ every night.
- 4degrees, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15bill is such a bone head...
- smoothmedia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13O'Reilly is making his case for Secretary of Defense.
- TheChance, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12You're right, I applaud liars all the time. The right of free speech is what people would champion, not a hack like Bill O'Reilly.
- 16x9, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13> SkeletaLlama asks: "Then why can't the libs agree on anything?"
Because for the most part we aren't spoon-fed our opinions from on high. - muleking, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14I like when Oreilley talks like his is going to get Condeleeza Rice on the phone to hash out foreign policy and guide her, when he is done doing his show. Like any cares what this ass has to say.
The man is a delusional old man and a sexual deviant who speaks from a soapbox because his cable news ratings are high compared to the other shows on cable. - geometry, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10In a country that is so f'ed up like Iraq they can't/don't document every death.
- 16x9, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12> RojoKayako wrote: "That's why thugs such as Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Bon Laden and Saddam rely on the Libs so much."
You, sir, with all due respect, are an ass! No one was angrier than this "lib" at what Al-Qaeda did to my country on 9/11. And believe me when I tell you (and I think I can speak for many if not most "libs" when I say) that I had no problem with going into Afghanistan and kicking the collective asses of the organization that supported Al-Quaida: the Taliban. Having written this, however, to this day I still have no idea what Iraq has to do with this noble effort.
You might be correct in your inference that "libs" do tend prefer dialog over bombing runs. And frankly I don't think you have to look any further than the mess we are in within Iraq to see that this philosophy has some merit. But dialog and negotiation doesn't have to equal being stupid. And this is where I think that too many Republicans under-estimate the "libs." Just because we don't snap at everything that walks by doesn't mean that we are afraid. What it does mean is that we'd rather negotiate the peace before resorting to fighting for the peace. Then again, I don't feel an overwhelming obligation to the Bechtels and the Halliburtons of the world. - Silencer7, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Iraq body count is deliberately a minimal total, since they only include deaths that could be conclusively confirmed in more than one source. If you think every dead person gets careful media attention in Iraq then maybe you could believe that IBC has the full total...
but no. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+18http://www.iraqbodycount.org/
says its between 46863 and 51968.
And they have documented numbers so I'm more likely to believe them than someone who says "Yeah its like 150k" or "its more like 655k" or something like that with no proof. - tsf5000, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10I did the same thing. I thought he might say the republicans were still in charge in a typical faux news reversal of reality moment.
- sideshowRAHEEM, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12OK, now i am completely convinced that this man is ether a complete moron or the greatest comedy writer of the past 50 years. he can't be this dumb he just can't.
- boff, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Oh, we are. We just like to make fun of the dumb-ass ***** that comes out of his mouth.
- carnytrash, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10There's an insane homeless man that spews crazy ***** on a street corner near my office. I think I'd rather applaude his schizophrenia induced babble than anything Bill O'Reilly spews from his pie-hole.
- jsls, on 10/12/2007, -10/+17A more accurate figure would be 655,000, so your a little off...
- theodicey, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12Iraq Body Count is useless, it's an absolute lower bound on casualties with no statistical validity, plus a mountain of hype.
It's like this: someone who watches Fox News tells you 5 people endorse Republicans and 0 endorse Democrats. I show you a poll, based on a random survey of 1000 people, saying 63% of them are voting Democrat. Who are you going to believe?
I'll believe the statistical sample any day (and, it even tells you how accurate it is -- they're called error bars).
If you don't, you don't understand statistics. (Don't worry, you're not alone). - 16x9, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9> camino262 wrote: "At least O'Reilly speaks his mind and does not care what anyone thinks of him. You people on the left should applaud him for taking advantage of the right to free speech."
Yeah, and I can stand on a street corner and cluck like a chicken. But I can't imagine any sane person applauding me for doing so.
I don't want to censor Mr O’Reilly, even if most of what he says is the intellectual equivalent of Chicken Clucking. But I'm under no obligation to "applaud" his rantings. - CursorTN, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9OK, so is he now starting to mock Stephen Colbert in really subtle ways?
It's amazing that he does the thinking for millions each and every single night of the week. - UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8And they say Democrats have no plan for Iraq?
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12The 400,000 figure is widely regarded as a very high estimate. 150,000, by my count, is still un-f-ing-believable.
- felis, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Just because you CAN say something, doesn't mean you SHOULD.
- ZenMojo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Start fighting for their democracy? Isn't that technically what Civil Wars are about?
- jivatmanx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This just continues to show the incredibly amount of insight and understanding that neo-cons have on the world outside of their church. Consider an older comment by Trent Lott:
Why do they hate each other? Why do Sunnis kill Shiites? How do they tell the difference? They all look the same to me.“ - SkeletaLlama, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Then you don't know pundits and politics.
- theone3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Eq: That was the point....
- SSWolfensteinSS, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5reality is fox news is on the way out ,, so them neo con will need employment soon!
- dagonweb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"...What gets me the most, reading through these obviously liberal biased comments, on these liberal leaning articles..."
It's statistics. *Inside* the US these socalled liberals are more intelligent and more intelligent people have a higher incidence of accessing internet. Even worse, the most intelligent frequent Digg. So you will find a lot more of these "liberals" on Digg.
Whats worse, you get non-US people here too. And those *all* hate Bush, conservatism, neocons and Bill O Reilly (if they know him).
So you have two strong statistical slants towards the same. Smart people in the US and *anyone* from outside the US have reasons to despise conservative scum, neocon politics and that slimy lunatic Bill O Reilly. - thinkingbear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"the world is left leaning. "
Yep. "Reality has a well-known liberal bias." :) - SkeletaLlama, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7@emorphien
Both. - simondotcalvin, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7@JohnCrichton
Who cares if Bill has a plan for Iraq, secret or no? News flash: He's a f*cking TV personality.
@merowe
Look at me everybody! I have Tivo! I Tivo'd O'Reilly! I verbed Tivo! Somebody notice me! - Rodzirra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'd refine that a bit to say that the world is statist-leaning. To boil everything down to only left (statist) and right (statist) is disingenuous, at best.
- thepaul, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4thank goodness O'Reilly made the end of Iraq so simple, just don't let him hear about sunnis and shia. Good idea
- bigfatphony, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@babakshirazi: Wow. I don't understand how you can be so certain of that ridiculous opinion, when so little of it is based in fact, and so much of it is completely devoid of logic. I can only assume you're too young to realize that this is a war, not neighbourhood ***** watch.
All your points are assumptions and generalities. Get informed then get an opinion. Leave the bleating to the sheep. - WoodenKimono, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3How the hell did O'Rielly's childish rant ever get to the front page?
