- Catspaw, on 09/03/2008, -1/+16Chomsky argues "Who cares?"
Only a criminal would try and manufacture consent for mass murder. - inactive, on 09/03/2008, -3/+9Chomsky needs to realize that he will be allowed due process but will not like the outcome of his trial.
- vbullinger, on 09/03/2008, -0/+4"Manufacture consent." Nice :)
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5188477348 ... - inactive, on 09/03/2008, -1/+4That headline is misleading. He argues that U.S. citizens have become apathetic and complacent to decision making.
I would argue that if your employer(s) keeps you working night and day for no time to pay attention to news or to vote, then they have achieved some amount of political control. When you're working two and three jobs, your too worried about what is going on outside your front door. Those who can think are too busy trying to survive an economic calamity. - GlobalistShill, on 09/03/2008, -1/+3I appreciate your response. Also, thank you for not burying. LOL!
However, to say "There is no evidence that the events of Sept 11th were done by the government." is utterly false! Yes?
For every piece of evidence supporting the official story of 9/11, there is more evidence pointing to the fact that it was an inside job. Now, the very fact that there are trolls who spend all of their work week trying to direct attention away from an investigation into 9/11 is the very first piece of evidence I will site. LOL! Here trolly trolly... here trolly trolly!....
I am glad that there are people drawing attention to various criminal enterprises. 9/11, however, continues to be used as a weapon against the people of the world, and the official story is a ridiculous FRAUD! Anyone who has eyes to see and has seriously investigated it will come to this conclusion, and if more of the publuc could open their eyes to it, it would change the world overnight.
In my opinion, exposing the 9/11 fraud should be the #1 priority for anti-war and liberty advocates because its truth will not only undue the house of cards making up the "War on Terror" & vast criminal imperialism, but it can also end the police state which directs its energy and forms its system based on a pack of LIES.
All it takes is an open mind; this crime must be investigated with a sharp sword and a bright light; its effects are FAR reaching. - notque, on 09/02/2008, -7/+9It isn't apathy or arrogance. It's an honest understanding of priorities. It's pragmatic.
There is no evidence that the events of Sept 11th were done by the government. There is TONS of evidence of actual evil things they've done.
September 11th 2001 isn't even the worst terrorist attack committed on September 11th! That was September 11th 1973 when we murdered the democratically elected leader of Chile, Salvador Allende, and installed a brutal dictator that rounded up people into stadiums and killed them.
So again. Do we focus on the things with little to no evidence, that we can't prove? Or do we focus on the countless crimes that we do have evidence for?
It's simple logic.
I didn't bury the article though. More power to you. If people don't understand this, there's nothing I can say really. - zmedico, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1While I do agree with most if not all of the points that Chomsky makes, I still feel that the 9/11 truth movement does play an important role in reminding us that we should be wary of the potential for false flag attacks. Perhaps the 9/11 truth movement does draw some attention away from some of the more well documented offences of the government against we the People. However, in any case, it's important that we remain keenly aware that that we may not have all the facts and that we should therefore remain open to the possibility that we may have been deceived. Given that power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely, we must demand that the government operate in a transparent manner with ample checks and balances to ensure that means exist to correct for abuse of power and hold the abusers accountable for their actions.
- GlobalistShill, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1In this clip Chomsky is ADVOCATING apathy and complacency with respect to finding out the true criminals that caused 9/11, because it is, according to him, a waste of energy! He also points out that there are "coincidences" surrounding the events of 9/11 which, he argues, only APPEAR to have a relationship in retrospect! He goes on to make the case that it is not worth the energy to recapitulate these events or attempt to relate the correspondences! The headline is accurate; it is a simple clarification of his position.
The Chomsky of this video would have us spend our time and energy fighting the RIPPLE EFFECTS of 9/11, perhaps like the wars in Iraq & Afghanistan, and the continuing loss of civil liberties,... all in an endless sea of reaction, without going after the actual cause! He indicates that it is not worthwhile questioning the very facts forming this SYMBOL for the “War on Terror” (9/11), in spite of the fact that it continues to be used to justify treacherous foreign policy and ultimately countless deaths!
"There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil to one who is striking at the root."
-- Henry Thoreau
