If this isn't the quintessential David vs. Goliath story in modern politics I don't know what would be.
Impressive patriots! Fight on... - inactive, on 06/29/2008, -5/+25 To define and punish piracies and felonies committed on the high seas, and offenses against the law of nations;
To declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water;
To raise and support armies, but no appropriation of money to that use shall be for a longer term than two years;
To provide and maintain a navy;
To make rules for the government and regulation of the land and naval forces;
To provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the union, suppress insurrections and repel invasions;
To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the militia, and for governing such part of them as may be employed in the service of the United States, reserving to the states respectively, the appointment of the officers, and the authority of training the militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress; - fa22raptor, on 06/29/2008, -4/+22Stead fast my fellow patriots, the time is coming and the awakening of the mass's. " We the people, by the people" will be heard. The very grounds of those that suppress are losing their stability to maintain control. Remember the word of the gospel, " Thou shall not use thee." For the people of the free world, continue to spread the message of freedom. God bless you all far and wide of the world. For humanity we shall prevail.
- avengingturnip, on 06/29/2008, -2/+19Now the next trick is getting those delegates past the Credentials Committee for the national convention. Good luck.
- bsegovia, on 06/30/2008, -1/+16Many are also representing Huckabee through bound slots. Huck has also "dropped out" as you put it.
In reality, both have "suspended" their campaigns. As did Mitt Romney. I think it's more than representing the man. It's representing the ideals and goals that man represents... which ever you choose to like. - bsegovia, on 06/30/2008, -1/+14It was actually designed to be taken literally. See, it's that whole "law" thing. When we take the law literally, the integrity of our system is preserved and strengthened. It's not a bible, it's not a guide or a suggestion. It's the law.

http://www.campaignforliberty.com/ - Cache22, on 06/30/2008, -0/+12And the delegates can also have an impact on party platform stances among other things, it isn't just about the 2008 Republican nominee. It is about restoring the Republican party to its roots, even a small step is a step forward to getting rid of the big government neo-cons that have taken over the party.
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -3/+12I think its awesome how the article is written around Jdayh's exciting post!
Ron Paul 08 - inactive, on 06/30/2008, -0/+8Since when did personal freedoms, liberty and smaller government become a "fringe" idea?
- PeppermintPig, on 06/30/2008, -1/+9Wow, that's not at all morally corrupt. There would not have ever been any need for this and they might have finished their business if GOP goons didn't try to cancel the procedures and ignore objections based on their own misconduct to party rules.
- Habit4ming, on 06/30/2008, -1/+8Kmye, you obviously didn't read the article or links...Mr. Beers was UNETHICAL when he illegally halted the April 26th convention, NOT the Ron Paul supporters! And this is not the first convention where the GOP has violated its own rules. This is a matter of right and wrong! This is a matter of fairness in elections! Get it????
- Lawofnations, on 06/30/2008, -1/+8For those of you new to Digg.com "onetimer" AKA "sportsfan" is a troll.
- mdonato, on 06/30/2008, -2/+8Does Mickey favor abloshing the Federal Reserve too?
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -0/+6You keep yourself pretty busy burying things you deem insignificant.
How ironic, lol - runforron, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4THE SLEEPER WILL BE AWOKEN

News clip and more from KOLO 8 news. - inactive, on 06/29/2008, -4/+8Why didn't you post the other duties the Constitution assigns to Congress?
Section 8. The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
Is it because the right wing only remembers the parts of the Constitution they like? - TomWestbrook, on 06/30/2008, -0/+4No need for an election. In fact why even have a convention if the nominee has already been 'selected'? I guess it looks good, like the people still have a voice.
- Lawofnations, on 06/30/2008, -0/+3Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson presented the new constitution to the king of France. He read it. He looked at Franklin and Jefferson. And he spit on them. "You didn't include 'Law of Nations'" he exclaimed. To this day, the Law of Nations, is thoroughly understood by all as the foundation of all societies. The United States of America couldn't be recognized as a de jure (lawful) nation. It was considered a rogue state and vulnerable to being captured as an unclaimed land. The constitution was quickly revised to attend to this discrepency.
The sad news is there is not a single attorney alive who has ever heard the term "law of nations" let alone knows how to define it. - KMye, on 06/30/2008, -0/+2I've followed the story from the beginning. In his video recount of the events, a Paul supporter was positively ecstatic they were in position to vote in far more delegates than the popular vote had allocated to them. Whether it was following the rules or not, the party's response to these tactics was to stop the Paulites from unethically winning over-representation by working the system. You're right, it is a matter of right and wrong...
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -3/+5 pajeff says buried,, and thats where he goes, ;)
- PeppermintPig, on 07/02/2008, -1/+2The internets invaded the real world today. Many were seen fleeing from the streets as a crowd of virtual Ron Paul supporters headed to the convention to show their candidate some support.
In other news, hundreds trampled across the globe in surprise rickroll attacks. - inactive, on 07/05/2008, -1/+1Buried.....Isn't it amazing what these folks have to grasp for as some sort of win...This spin is Fox news worthy
- btschul, on 07/03/2008, -1/+1Can you justify that? Didn't think so.
- inactive, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1Son, the people used their voice, they were called primaries..Why do you folks live in denial that paul will NEVER be the nominee..
- Robjayne, on 06/30/2008, -4/+3^ Losers
- chaosium, on 06/29/2008, -6/+5they're constitutional literalists, poorly educated on their bible of choice.
- KMye, on 06/30/2008, -3/+2There never would have been any need for the GOP goons to cancel the procedures if the Paulites hadn't tried to bring their spamming from online into the real world.
- TomK88, on 06/30/2008, -5/+1Since Ron Paul was crushed in the Republican primaries?
- Rotzooi, on 06/30/2008, -8/+3Well, now I'm convinced Ron Paul will be the next POTUS.
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -9/+3Mickey Mouse would be the better candidate
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -10/+4McCain will be the nominee on the first ballot..End of story...Buried, this is not significant..If they wanted to do something significant they should have won the primary
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -7/+0ALL PAULTARDS ARE TROLLS AND SPAMMERS....AND WE ARE NOT THE SAME PEOPLE, THAT'S SIMPLY PAULTARD PARANOIA SPEAKING
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -8/+1That's why they call him DR NUT
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -13/+4write in mickey mouse or ron paul - both will do you just as much good
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -11/+1"It's the law."
No it isn't. It's the Constitution. The laws are in the US Legal Code. Go to findlaw.com to see what laws look like. - inactive, on 06/30/2008, -13/+3Buried.....Isn't it amazing what these folks have to grasp for as some sort of win...This spin is Fox news worthy
- TomK88, on 06/30/2008, -15/+1Wait, didn't Ron Paul already become president? Oh yeah, he's an extreme fringe politician with an extremely small support group who has no significant impact on modern politics. We get it. You love Paul and all he stands for. Unfortunately for you, there is not enough of you and nobody else cares.
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -15/+1"will they lose all Nevada representation for Paul?"
WIll anyone care? I mean other than the 1 or 2 percent of Americans who support Republican Congressman Paul. - KMye, on 06/29/2008, -22/+7Seems like if the Paul supporters want to make the argument the delegates they elected at their own "convention" are the legitimate ones, it will just undercut their case if they go to and participate in the July 26th convention.
Through their unethical parliamentary sneakiness, which is in no way a principled action, or anything other ends-justify-the-means collective mania, will they lose all Nevada representation for Paul? - inactive, on 06/29/2008, -26/+3So you'll have a handful of delegates (representing a candidate who has dropped out) elected versus the hundreds and hundreds that McCain will bring?
This is news, how?
Buried.
