I mean, this is the first thing that has come up in weeks that make democrats look bad and republicans are jumping all over it like it's a page scandal or a report that says our war in iraq has created more terrorists.
so now that the GOP has decided to lie through their teeth to try to get people to think that they're the better party ("terrorists want the dems in power", "we ARE winning the war in iraq"). now they're jumping all over this cause they think it will somehow make them look better.

C. More Kerry and Clinton Bashing.

He has his Vietnam mentality of when there was a GI deferment if a person was going to college. Thus, dumb troops who could not take advantage of the situation. I believe this is what still clouds Kerry's view of our troops. He can't acknowledge that over 95% have high school diplomas and they are all volunteer.
If you add the supposedly left out "us" word, then is the joke supposed to mean that if you don't study hard and make yourself smarter you get elected President of the United States and you send the troops to get stuck in Iraq. I mean John Kerry would know that 95% of our troops have a High School diploma, and 97.5% of our Military Officers have a College degree. So maybe what he's saying is that even though most of our troops hold degrees, those diploma's just aren't worth anything.
Still, I don't think it's very funny, and he should apologize.
