More Americans To Pretend They Care About Foreign Affairs
shitamericaneeds.com — Maybe I ’m going out on a limb, but I believe this self-centeredness is partially why the rest of world hates America with such vigor. Thus, for the sake of America, and to bolster our national image in the eyes of the world, we need more Americans to pretend they care about foreign affairs.

Not here....thank God I can still get to the Galleria in time for the sales.- sanman, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1Don't worry, more Americans are having affairs than ever.
So naturally there will also be an increase in foreign ones too

- alanocu, on 05/13/2008, -5/+4The ***** America needs is fewer assholes that write ***** like this. Fewer writers with ***** for brains on a high horse leading the boo hoo train to *****. Fewer writers who shut down the computer, walk outside and look around instead of pretending they know the ***** America needs. Fewer writers who are cowards. Fewer blogs that are called '***** America Needs" instead of "*****! Here's What We All Can Do to Make This A Better Place."

American and foreign aid was turned away.
"The fact is that Americans give more than the citizens of any other country ... They also volunteer more," Brooks said. "Americans per capita individually give about three and a half times more money per year, than the French per capita ... Seven times more than the Germans and 14 times more than the Italians."

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2007-06-25-cha ... - aquireworth, on 05/13/2008, -0/+1I do think on the whole we are a very fat (not just physically) and complacent country. At the same time I agree whole heartedly with what ultramegaOk wrote. The majority of the people I know are either fund raising to help people in need around the world or they're actually going there. I know people that are currently in Uganda, Iraq, Pakistan, and many other places who are working their asses off to help people they don't even know. Guess whoever wrote this article needs to venture out a bit more and meet some people that are doing good - and are actually worth knowing.
- Taorluath, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1Have you guys ever heard of cracked.com's renowned "monkey sphere"?
yeah. A couple people in gagulistan dying in a flood is way out of my monkey sphere - coffee200am, on 05/14/2008, -2/+1Care? Yeah I care. I care enough to have ALL US foreign aid cut off immediately to take care of our own.
- empirefalling, on 05/14/2008, -0/+2America should be made to reimburse the many Nations affected by Global Climatic Tragedies. The United States has spewed trillions of tons of pollution and carbon onto the biosphere for the last 150 years. No other country has damaged the environment as much as the United States over the last the century and a half, not even China. Now the World Body begins to suffer the beginnings of this poisoning by Capitalist Industry.
- DanMcGuinness, on 05/14/2008, -1/+0Too bad nobody could make The US "reimburse" anybody, idiot. It would be cute to see another country or the UN try, though.
- TurdZilla, on 05/14/2008, -0/+0I care but for selfish reasons.... when I am overseas i have to explain to people that most Americans hate Bush and that he stole the election.
- aquireworth, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1In response to empirefalling: There's a little something called the UN Millennium Project. It was created in 2002 and hopes to reverse poverty, hunger, and disease (doesn't state pollution, but it will help with that too). Each country that signed the project (including America) committed to provide 0.7% of gross national product. Of course we (America) have been giving way less than we committed to.
http://www.unmillenniumproject.org/index.htm - aquireworth, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1Finishing my thought...hopefully our new Pres. will renew our commitment with the millennium project. It's projects like this and people like Jeff Sachs and Greg Mortenson that are making huge differences in our world. I hope more will join their efforts!
- Bonobo, on 07/03/2008, -0/+1Digg has little faith in our country, while i agree that theres A LOT of terrible things happening, it's not helping by having 100% of all America related articles telling us our country is going to *****.
