- reeder, on 11/02/2007, -29/+130People who insult Hillary or compare Obama to Osama Bin Laden are purely disgusting and have zero respect for the process of Democracy. They know they can't compete on an intellectual or policy level, so they resort to the lowest, most sickening tactics. They bring shame to every real American.
- tomboy501, on 10/11/2007, -17/+50Why is Romney's campaign still alive after this?
- reddevil3, on 11/02/2007, -19/+50A new low for the republicans.
Seriously...that party has stooped to such a low level it's not even funny. Comparing two SENATORS to someone who has murdered 3000+ Americans??
And why am I not surprised that it's someone from South Carolina who was holding that sign? - RollFizzlebeef, on 10/11/2007, -2/+25Spokesman: Romney Not "Equating Or Comparing Anyone" When Holding "Obama Osama" Sign
http://tinyurl.com/2e9bf7
...Election Central contacted Romney spokesman Kevin Madden for comment, asking if it was appropriate for the candidate to hold the sign up with the woman. "The governor stopped briefly for a picture with a supporter who just happened to be holding their own sign with an alliterative play on words," Madden said, via e-mail. "I don’t think it was equating or comparing anyone."
Yeah, right. - TJacques, on 10/11/2007, -0/+20Actually it's Barack Hussein Obama
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_obama - zlintux, on 11/02/2007, -6/+25Actually biased catch phrases are a staple of Democracy, and the ability to insult members of a Democracy is a cherished right -- I'm sure you do it all the time with anti-Bush slogans (I know I do).
However, comparing Obama to Osama is simply idiotic, and no one could ever maintain that to be a valid comparison
Oh, and to the author of that article, the grammar is fine. "Moma" is a spelling error, and you'd have to ask the author if they meant "Obama Osama" or "Obama, Osama." - tw12lve, on 10/11/2007, -6/+24intellectual... whatever. I've seen plenty of people of the liberal type say bush is worse than hitler. Both repubs/dems have retards on their side
- allaboutdatiki, on 10/11/2007, -2/+19I didn't know that Chelsea was that attached to the Musuem Of Modern Art.
- spudnic, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14People who use verbose language to deliberately make it hard for the other person to understand are afficatory.
- toddcat, on 10/11/2007, -5/+15Not that I can think of many Republican candidates of any degree of decency in the last 30 years, but this election's candidates must truly be the least evolved, by far, of any batch of Repub candidates.
- Skarz3d, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12LOL, learn that on Fox News?
- DivisibleByZero, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Gah, more lies from the Romney campaign. That was a rhyme, not an alliteration!
- RollFizzlebeef, on 10/11/2007, -11/+20With the dog thing and this and all the flip-flopping, Romney supporters might want to consider the possibility that Mitt's as nutty as his religion - and/or because of it.
- abdrahman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8" but it isn't nearly as bad as an elected representative (Ellison) saying Bush Hitler. I didn't see any pop-media outrage over that."
I know Fox News and CNN made a big deal about it... even MSNBC mentioned it. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9Huh? "Afficatory" is a perfectly cromulent word.
- washingtonydc, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9both sides definitely have plenty of idiots. But how often do you see democratic candidates hanging out with those hippies with the giant paper mache figures or whatever?
If I were a republican, this picture would make me question Mitt's ability to professionally campaign for the next 16 months. - epicstruggle, on 10/11/2007, -10/+17But its ok to compare Bush/Cheney to Hitler, right?
- johnlabmonkey, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10Take YOUR lies elsewhere, or show some proof.
- spudnic, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9And yes, that's not a real word. Bet you looked it up though *snigger*
Here, I'll also close your parenthesis for you, I'm nice like that
) - knowyourrights, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10What the hell was he thinking? If he's this tactically stupid, he's completely barred from even running for the presidency, seriously, America can only burden itself with so many years of stupid presidents, this guy's out.
- SuperMoses, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9"It's more a statement on Barack and Hillary being weak on terrorism". LOL, you got that from "No to Obama, Osama or Chelsea's moma?". It's not poor reading comprehension because the sign was vague. But at best it's grouping Obama and Clinton with Osama, which is retarded.
- nixonrichard, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6And Romney, Hillary, and Obama are all within that 2/3.
- EarlOfLade, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Which one of the Democratic presidential candidate said so?
Maybe you have a picture of one standing by a supporter with a sign saying "Bush is worse than Hitler!"?
There are simply nobody more nutty than republicans. The world is laughing at you in bewilderment! - SwabTheDeck, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Dugg for rhyming Mitt with *****.
- tidu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6I don't like her because of her little "narrowing the presidential race before primaries" shenanigans.
- Urusai, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6I missed the part where Clinton held up a sign calling Giuliani a pig-***** and a Nazi.
- annonimality, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5"Obama is a Marxist" - Are there no more intelligent, rational arguments in favor of conservatism? Why must conservatives always resort to hyperbole when making a comment?
- martalli, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Hey, don't knock South Carolina. Stephen Colbert is South Carolina...just think if he turned the Colbert Nation on you...
- SuperMoses, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5It is an oligarchy that misinforms the masses.
- mytea, on 10/11/2007, -4/+9I thought he was talking about Bush.. but then I suppose he would have said "Comparing two SENATORS to someone who has been responsible for the deaths of 3000+ Americans and others in Iraq"
- cocoamix, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I'm sure there have been a person or two at a democratic candidate's rally with a sign comparing Bush to Hitler or something, but I doubt any of the candidate would be so completely clueless as to pose with them and hold the sign up.
Spelling errors on a big sign like that ate all the more ridiculous. It's not like a typo on a keyboard where you hit the wrong key. You spend time on each letter coloring it, staring at the word for at least a minute or so, and you STILL spell it wrong?! It means you couldn't spell it right to begin with. - annonimality, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7"me being an average american, I cant think for myself" - maybe that's how Bush got elected.
- Spektr4, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5If a Democratic presidential candidate made that comparison, you'd definitely see it on the news. You're comparing apples to oranges.
- Acewrap, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5You're not too smart, are you?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/snigger
- speerross, on 10/11/2007, -6/+11Why do you americans fall in to the trap of hype all the time? First communism now terrorism....you always gotta have someone to hate! (especially if you're the Republic party)
- dime, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Really? Obama supports the total dissolution of private property and all means of production in control of the state? *****, I must have missed the memo.
- ichbinladen, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Osama doesn't want the US out of Iraq.
- martalli, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6I suppose you think you would make an excellent member of this oligarchy?
- diablo75, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Don't forget, you need to go back to Prescott and his involvement with the Nazi's if you want to draw up conjecture about the political leanings of the whole Bush family. Although you don't necessarily have to do that if you want to do simple comparison between George W and Adolf Hitler's use of fear propaganda to scare the Germans into supporting an unjust war.
- EarlOfLade, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7The republican voters are not too smart, they need a simple catchphrase to remember. Anything more is too complicated for them. Remember, 2/3 of the American people believe some supernatural being created the universe and that evolution is some evil liberal godless lie.
- rochester, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Romney stands next to some fruitcake with a nutty sign - now THAT is DIGG material!
Cheap smear tactics.... - martalli, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8The comparison of Bush to Hitler falls down when you realize that Hitler was a mad genius and Bush is an idiot being led around by others. Bush is more like President Harding, except that President Harding died before his idiocy came to light. Bush can practice his idiocy to full effect.
- Dustmuffins, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4People routinely compare Bush to Hitler. I see no difference here.
- Bdog2g2, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4If Billo says's it it must be true. Must follow Billo. Must follow Billo.
- oscarsonthepond, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Could this story be any more ridiculous? It's just a cheap attempt to cut down one of the more-viable Republican candidates. Clearly the sign isn't comparing anybody to anybody else - it's meant to say no to clinton, no to obama, and no to osama. Furthermore, just because he posed w/ the lady doesn't at all mean he's endorsing everything she says.
- Bdog2g2, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Man I was born and raised in S. Carolina. I had to get the ***** out once I graduated, because many of the people believe the ***** that the Republicans and Religious Right shovel. I asked one of my friends if they were going to vote for Kerry in 2004, and they said, no, he looks wierd.
- yenshee, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Is it closed-minded to point out that Mormonism is an obvious and well-documented fraud concocted fairly recently by a charlatan and a con man? How about Scientology? Do we have to be open-minded about L. Ron Hubbard too? Do I have to give Jimmy Swaggart, Benny Hinn and Jimmy Bakker the benefit of the doubt too? Or might it be fairly reasonable to dismiss them all as the frauds and liars they are? Just asking...
When did Mormonism get this sheen of respectability? When they ended plural marriage? When they let non-whites in? Why should I accept the equation: Nutty Idea + Passage of Time = Cherished and Unquestionable Belief? - MacEnvy, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6"But its ok to compare Bush/Cheney to Hitler, right?"
Not if it's a presidential candidate doing it (and by the looks of the picture, he's clearly not worried about the implications). Ass. - Webbster, on 10/11/2007, -4/+7"A new low for the republicans. "
Oh they will go lower I'm sure. -
