- Tiak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Anyone else notice how in the last 3 years he's slowly become more and more like Darth Sidious?... (in just about every imaginable way)
- FloppyLlamaDigg, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Look at that grinning face.. so smug.
- therealrico, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10The sad thing is I actually liked him when he was running against Dubya, and if he had beaten Bush I would have given him serious consideration over Al Gore. Which is saying alot considering my leftish standings. But now, appearently Bush's people gave McCain the kool aid they have been drinking for the past 7 years, because he is spewing there same ***** rhetoric.
Oh well looks like we are gonna have a first in the office, either a black man, or a women. Cause the best the republicans can come up with are a mormon, a crazy texan who loves his guns in Ron Paul, and Bush 2.0 in McCain. - littlebylittle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10"I am The Knower!"
- 7levels, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12"And if we don’t show signs of success, the American public will force us to pull out."
Your right John. It's a good thing that the war is such a success, or us stupid Americans - who don't pay attention - might try to get out of it.
I can only imagine how much greater America would be if this man became President. - orian76, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9That sounds like something Bush would say, and I don't know about you, but I have had my fill of this wanabe king president.
- fredxor, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13This guy is clueless, just like George Bush Jr. The only thing that differentiates them is that McCain is more intelligent and McCain didn't dodge the draft.

Us: 'O RLY?' - Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Name the Prime Minister of Iraq: The "official" government of Iraq is about as relevant as the government of South Vietnam.
Name three Iraqi cities besides Baghdad: Tikrit, Kirkuk, and Ctesiphon. Left field ftw.
Who is currently believed to be the leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq: Like I trust the media or government to provide accurate information on their paper tiger of terror. - locusto03, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7What a self-righteous, arrogant, hypocritical, smug little bag of douche.
- therealrico, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Oh yeah I forgot about Rudolf I WAS THE MAYOR OF NEW YORK CITY DURING 9/11, LET ME KEEP POINTING THIS OUT SO YOU WILL THINK I AM A GOOD LEADER, AND WILL DISTRACT FROM MY OTHER SHORTCOMINGS Guilliani.

Obama '08 - Toon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6If this was actually like 24, two thirds of the way into the presidential race, it would turn into something completely unrelated, like a pie-eating contest.

...Thats basically McCain's plan for Iraq... - humperdeath, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5“I think Americans don’t pay close attention.”
OK, he got us there, but really, how can we all pay attention, when there are more important things, like a new text message from the GF, a great deal on the latest cell phone, and the new song from whats-his-name just came on. Gotta try the new wii game, and what about who just got booted off American Idol! There is just only so many hrs in a day, I cant be bothered with politics, now really. - tomis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Anyone who claims they know what's best for you more than you do, doesn't.

- laserblazer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3McCain will never be President. Despite his time as a prisoner-of-war, he's a miserable sycophant to torturers and not even half a man, supporting those who would treat others as he was treated. Instead of gaining wisdom from his past ordeals, he learned to whore himself to those who terrify him, namely the Bush administration.
Instead of becoming a lifelong activist against the practice of torture, he became one who apologized for torturers. He is the most miserable kind of scum: the kind that learns to love their pond. - heaintheavy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Opinions are like colostomy bags, everyone's got one...
Right, John? - DaveClarkOne, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Well, he has a point when he says he's more informed. How many Americans know that Petreus (sp) is running the show? Petreus has a far better chance to make some forward progress, but it may be too late. McCain just wants to give it one more chance with competent leadership in Irag --a first!
I'm not saying McCain is right, but he has far more background to judge this than the average Joe. Americans are woefully ill-informed, thanks to our media that offers us sound-bites for news.
Do I think Iraq was a mistake? Duh. Of course. Is it salvageable? McCain believes there's a chance to give meaning to the soldiers who've given their iives. Too bad Bush didn't yank Rummy 2 years ago. He's the one who should be the object of our scorn, not McCain. Of course, Bush is ultimately responsible. - conna, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I had hopes years ago that John McCain would run for President. His trials an tribulations as a soldier and a veteran made me believe in him. Years ago he seemed down to earth and honest plus a decent politician. I thought it would be cool to have him as president being from my home state. Now it seems that he is a "Manchurian Candidate" just like the Bush's and Clinton. His answers are robotic and do not support the American public opinion. That by itself should keep people from wasting a vote on him. If he is going to be a NeoCon shill then I hope he never makes it to the ballot. If he is so enlightened with White House war policy, then he should share his insider views to back up his claim of knowing what is best for the security of our nation.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Manchurian_Candidate
He obviously has no clue about how to protect America as long as the border is as protected as ***** as it is. I lived 30 miles from the Mexico/US and know personally how patchy the protection is. I am sure the big plan is to let millions of Illegal immigrants in and eventually make them US Tax paying citizens so the retiring baby boomer's can collect benefits but that is a different topic.
I hope we get a candidate that can think for themselves and supports the American public or the US will find itself spread so thin fighting for Oil that the back door into the country will be left wide open. - anillop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I cant believe I used to campaign for this guy. Ever since the 2000 election where he was beaten by bush he has unconvincingly changed into a run of the mill republican hack rather than the independent minded fiscal conservative he used to be. I suppose I lost all faith in him when he started sucking up to the same people on the religious right who he used to have the balls to stand up to. Its sad to see your heroes fall and turn into just another political hack.

His job is to use the U.S. to make the Middle East safe for Israel.
So far, this mission has failed. It has cost 3000 dead, and tens of thousands maimed for the rest of their lives. It has cost half a TRILLION dollars, and will put your children into tax slavery.
Of course we don't know what's best for us or we would have ridden the neocons out of town on a rail by now.
AIPAC is, by the way, a nest of Israeli spies.
No wonder he smiles that way.

. - dmjarrington, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Both of those candidates you mentioned suck balls. John McCain is a flip flopper who has devoted himself solely to our renegade president, and Obama continues to help the Democratic Party fund the war!! Both are losers!
Ron Paul has never voted against the Constitution. Check his record. Help us get Ron Paul into office so we can restore Our Constitution. Unless something is done quickly it will likely be laid aside in favor of a millitary form of government... Anyone who agrees to that imperialistic paradigm willfully doesn't have an adequate understanding of the principles this country was founded upon. The cost of freedom is eternal vigilance.

- jas168, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I suppose he should have said "I don't know what's best for the security of this nation"? I really don't think anything he says will change what anybodys opinion on the war already is.
- Odjn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If he knows the best security for the nation, does that mean if he becomes president, when Americans visit other countries, we get 100 army personal, a bulletproof jacket, and 3 black hawk helicopters to protect us? This is for every country that is very safe or whatever phrase he used.
- stealthc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2In that one comment he has betrayed the entire mindset of the ruling elite: "We know best. You are all helpless cattle and need us to decide your fate."

Dear Mr. McCain.
In regards to your recent assertion that you know what is best for the security of our nation, I am glad that you are taking the steps you feel are appropriate in order to provide a more secure foundation upon which to protect this nation. Unfortunately it has come to our attention that you have been experience the early symptoms of senility. We feel that it is in the best interest of all parties involved that you now step down from your current position and also withdraw your bid for the presidency of the United States.
Or in less thoughtful terms…
Umm, no you don’t. - smithfly114, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Ha, Oh Johnny....you are so funny!

im gonna be sick - chatty82, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, Sen. Chafee's father from Rhode Island told me that candidates from Arizona often lose elections (like Barry Goldwater) because of the gross discrimination against Negroes in Arizona. He said that the blacks were one of the most important voting blocs and the discrimination against them in Arizona is why they never win. The warmongering position on Iraq is also unfavorable to the US. It isn't enough to include "Mexicans" who could come from any South American country, or could be members of Hepzbollah-Iran, and exclude blacks altogether. Sen. McCain doesn't know anything about this, but what happened to a new NAACP group in Tucson?? They were treated like UFOs! Let's just treat the people from other planets as UFO's!
