- cimabuehw, on 10/07/2008, -6/+64Having come of age in the 60s, the possibilities of our heroes and leaders being murdered does not strike me as mere tin foil chapeau territory. I've seen too much of it. If there is a terrorist element to be followed and stopped, it is most likely among those who call for Obama's death. Palin needs to be called out for this stirring this pot.
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -7/+42Anyone who doubts that this is an explicit part of their end-game is kidding themselves.
- SevenSheaves, on 10/07/2008, -7/+41Man shot three times in street by racist gunman - for wearing Barack Obama T-shirt
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1070975 - nickels, on 10/07/2008, -9/+41Well, most Joe Sixpacks are a bunch of uneducated racists, so what do you expect?
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -9/+38Just watch one of McCain's recent cross burnings--I mean political rallies, and it sounds like McCain is running for Grand Wizard.
- SevenSheaves, on 10/07/2008, -3/+30Regarding Ayers from an NPR story:
"Walter Annenberg, a lifelong Republican and former ambassador who was appointed by Presidents Nixon and Reagan, funded an ambitious program to reform urban education in many cities in the mid 1990s. Ayers was an important member of the group that developed and wrote the grant proposal to the Annenberg Foundation."
...
"It was never a concern by any of us in the Chicago school reform movement that he had led a fugitive life years earlier," said former Illinois state Republican Rep. Diana Nelson, who worked with both Obama and Ayers over the years. "It's ridiculous. There is no reason at all to smear Barack Obama with this association. It's nonsensical, and it just makes me crazy. It's so silly." - algaeturd, on 10/08/2008, -4/+29Look at their 'base.' There's a lot of uneducated people in there who think violence is the way to solve things. They wave flags for any war that's proposed, they love to see a fight and they yell things like , 'kill him!' These people aren't the smartest Americans by a long shot. They're easy to sway and easy to mold. They sheep line up deep for McCain and Palin and how to ignorant people deal with anger? They're not smart enough to debate or emote so they want to fight, kill or hurt.
That's all they have. It's a shame but just look at these people. Anyone dumb enough to support Palin is dumb enough to get violent over something when they don't get their way. - suprememilo, on 10/08/2008, -1/+23I really hope whoever shouted "Kill him" was arrested.
- blackdogjoy, on 10/07/2008, -8/+30BOYCOTT Palin in all aspects! We do not want ANYONE who fosters this type of hatred!

add YOUR thoughts! Let's start a movement to save ourselves from this woman who gives pitbulls a bad name! - worlddancer, on 10/07/2008, -4/+26I don't know if there is precedent for campaigning politicians to be held accountable for "incitement to riot" , but if I were in any reputable position within the Republican Party, I would be watching these developments with increasing nervousness.
This cannot be good for anyone, least of all reasonable members of the GOP. The brand is already badly damaged ....and it is now in danger of becoming TOXIC.
If they start threatening violence at the polls, not only will they scare many voters of all parties , but will provide a media spectacle that would be broadcast worldwide. Remember, America's dirty laundry is tomorrow's global headlines. - ChangeIsGood, on 10/07/2008, -3/+23I have worn my Obama T-Shirt around my neighborhood while walking my dog and I have gotten some dirty looks. I live in O.C. California....One of my neighbors stopped talking to me.... oh well ---she always runs inside anyway when she sees a Black person walking down the street. She's one of the loonies who fears change and whose reality is being challenged. They fear the future.
- zhallock, on 10/07/2008, -5/+25about as responsible as yelling fire in a crowded theater, but that theater is the entire nation
- SevenSheaves, on 10/07/2008, -4/+23"I wouldn't call suggestions he is a terrorist unfounded"
If I thought you were truly serious, I would fear for your sanity and the safety of everyone around you.
Calling a man a terrorist is not a matter of simple opinion, it is a serious charge -- especially in a country wracked by fear and prosecuting a 'war' against the concept of terrorism.
With what acts of terrorism do you charge Obama? For what acts of violence, threats of intimidation or coercion by Obama have you a shred of proof?
If you have evidence, present it so that he might be indicted and tried.
If in your mind, every man is guilty of crimes committed by his acquaintances, we are a planet of hopeless criminals.
Without reasonable proof facilely bandying about charges as serious as terrorism is not only dangerous and irresponsible but, issued with malice, rises to the standard of prosecution for defamation.
What you say about asking questions is a completely different matter. - jilikins, on 10/07/2008, -7/+25Race baiting and encouraging hate is despicable and shows mcCLUELESS and FAILING's desperation.
- Deoliver47, on 10/07/2008, -6/+23Hate speech from a Presidential candidate is no longer going to garner them many votes. Sarah Palin either thinks she is George Wallace in drag - or she left her hood home.
- mamaboy, on 10/08/2008, -1/+14The Right Wing is going into full blown facism. Hypernationalism, suspicion, and hatred towards people unlike the conservative base. How do you think the Nazi party got into power?
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -5/+18This is pathetic.
Are you rightards really so weak that all you can do is try to claim that by Obama knowing someone that was once a criminal that now Obama is a criminal?
Well if we go by that mcCain is pals with G. Gordon Liddy and Olly North. What was Ayers convicted of?
This disgusting double standard just makes you look like a scumbag. - solidcube, on 10/08/2008, -1/+14If there's a lynch mob, it may not be heading the way our corporatist fascist leaders expect.
People in this country are PISSED. I don't think the elitists understand how things really are looking down in the trenches, the mood is getting ugly as *****. - sugarazor, on 10/08/2008, -1/+13You don't think that Palin's increasing rhetoric on Obama "palling around with terrorists" and the increasingly sinister crowd reactions aren't related? First it was "TREASON!" then it was "TERRORIST!" and now it's "KILL HIM!" coming from the lunatics in the crowd. It's not a coincidence that the Secret Service upped their detail this week.
Sarah Palin's speeches are threatening the safety of Barack Obama. - jilikins, on 10/07/2008, -3/+15I would much rather have a purple and green polka dotted person run this country than ANYONE who agrees (as mcCLUEless does) with this current criminal cabal of white folks.
- Depthfunction, on 10/08/2008, -3/+15It wouldn't surprise me to see an assassination attempt (even a half-assed one) against Obama sometime this month. If it happens, and Obama survives, he will win the election in a landslide (just imagine all of the Lincoln/JFK/MLK/Robert Kennedy/Reagan comparisons that would suddenly be attached to Obama), and I would hope that McCain and Palin would then be arrested for inciting crowds to violence.
But at least Obama as the secret service to protect him. The person who should REALLY be afraid is Bill Ayers. If he hasn't gone back underground by now, he'd better do it fast. Can you imagine all of the hate mail, hate email, and angry phone calls he and U-Chicago is getting now. - Asianwaste, on 10/08/2008, -1/+12It was an African European in the UK... by a skin head... with a BB gun.
- eyepennies, on 10/08/2008, -0/+10Man, I WISH the last 8 years were fiction...
- ChangeIsGood, on 10/07/2008, -3/+12True. They don't realize that there are people at the top with the Ivy League educations that are manipulating them for their own higher purpose. They manipulate poor people who can't afford a decent education who will unfortunately vote against their own interests (healthcare, education, SSI, Medicare, Human Services).
- solidcube, on 10/08/2008, -0/+9Wow, you're not very bright, are you?
- Asianwaste, on 10/08/2008, -1/+10I'm voting for Obama, but the majority of posters are so full of both prejudice and themselves it makes my face hurt. It's articles like this that drive a wedge between our people, trying to tag a label on people and then having people fear that label. Half the ***** I am reading on this thread is the same type bigotry just aimed elsewhere and by different people.
- SevenSheaves, on 10/08/2008, -2/+11Fair enough asking questions about Obama's associations, Spender.
I defend your right to ask them.
However, with all due respect, I hold that is unjust and irresponsible to suggest there is a foundation for calling a man "terrorist" (or murderer, or rapist, or baby-eater) without evidence of his committing an ACT of terrorism, murder, rape or baby-eating.
Behind the double-negatives, you wrote that calling Obama a terrorist is warranted. - MarciaJ720, on 10/07/2008, -4/+12That's because most don't have an education.....
- solidcube, on 10/08/2008, -3/+11The real terrorists are the Bush administration, many of whom have ties to ex-nazis. And Mccain, who has ties to nazis and right-wing death squads.
And then there's Palin, who is a christian dominionist and was affiliated with a political party that wants to secede from the union.
That's treasonous. - doublehead, on 10/08/2008, -3/+11The really sick part of this is the McCain/Palin campaign are aware of what this type of talk could invoke, but they don't seem to care. They're even aware that their hate speech has caused a Secret Service investigation, and that hasn't deterred them.
No honor, no concern over human life. They need to go away now! - siszam, on 10/08/2008, -1/+9What sort of role model supports war, starts fights on the Senate floor, calls his wife a *****, wants Americans to die from lack of health care and is married to a former pill head?
- induren, on 10/08/2008, -1/+8Reality has a liberal bias.
Deal with it.
WMD in Iraq, Duct Tape to protect yourself from biological attack, Heck Of A Job Brownie, The Invisible Hand of the Market and Mission Accomplished were all fantasies that ruined our nation.
It's time for reality. - mamaboy, on 10/08/2008, -2/+9no, the anology applies. Extreme economic downturn turned dispair into scapegoating. Which resulted in the empowerment of the Nazi Party. Hyernationalism, suspicion, and hatred resulted. Please. Godwin's Law doesn't apply. There is a scary parallel.
- nirav72, on 10/08/2008, -0/+7That right there is the problem with McCain. McCain should've called the guy out and should have said something. By him not saying anything and continuing on gives legitimacy to these ***** rednecks.
Gutless ***** cowards. John McCain has sold his soul to them. - solidcube, on 10/08/2008, -0/+7I dunno, man, inflammatory language is dangerous. There are a lot of people out there who aren't as smart as the people you and I are used to. Seriously. Like those methheads a few months ago with a truck full of rifles. 'Member those guys?
- opticwind, on 10/08/2008, -1/+8You vastly underestimate political apathy in this country. More than 30% of people don't even vote.
- nemrel, on 10/08/2008, -1/+8Once some MSM got ahold of the story the Secret Service has started to look into it. I hope more noise is made in the public airwaves in order to bring this person out into the open and to arrest him for such remarks.
It's redneck old-time southern lynch mob mentality. I thought we had moved past that stage in our evolution. But then again most of the great inspiring lights who have stood for universal values of compassion and making life better for ALL have been struck down by the ignorant: JFK, Robert Kennedy, Ghandi, Bhutto(sp?), Martin Luther King, and John Lennon - just to name a few. - jmpeagle, on 10/08/2008, -0/+5well you might want to turn off political opinion as we are going to be swamped over the next month with countless blogs sharing their opinions
- thespiff, on 10/08/2008, -0/+5Spender, give me a break. You say: "I didn't even say not to vote for Obama. I said demand answers before you consider voting for him."
Yeah right. Your post was like driving some stranger to the polls on election day, and saying "I don't want to influence your opinion, but I just wanted you to know that Obama killed my dog." - CCTNI, on 10/08/2008, -4/+9"supporters" the operative word. Obama isn't spewing hate like Palin/McCain to stir the pot. Look who reported it, Faux News.
- ColeChampagne, on 10/08/2008, -1/+6"They must know that is not true. But cynically they are preying on fear, racism and division and hoping that some of this ***** that they are flinging will stick."
Exactly. - IxXxIRhinoIxXxI, on 10/08/2008, -10/+14digg me up if you support Obama/Biden . digg me down if you support McCain/Palin .
- mamaboy, on 10/08/2008, -1/+5http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvXf9AUHTqM
- averagemario, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4Who the ***** cares? He could do blow off his desk in the Oval Office daily as long as he's good at his job.
- kelsosmythe, on 10/08/2008, -3/+7Time to bust out the ol' screen printing gear.
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/kelsosmythe ...
anyone want one? - MelvinSchlubman, on 10/08/2008, -2/+6FTA: "The shocked look on McCain's face yesterday when that person in the crowd yelled he's "a terrorist" said it all. He recoiled as if he never expected to hear something like that. It was the look of a guy who just realized that he might have just gone to a dark place he didn't want to go to."
Anyone have have a ref to video of McCain's reaction to the "he's a terrorist!" guy? - ja2thabritt, on 10/08/2008, -3/+7I agree this is such a act of desperation...Have you noticed Cindy McCain..... She Is SCARY!!!
- SevenSheaves, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4Hardly worth it to keep replying to something so often refuted, but I'm a patient glutton.
Obama was born in Hawaii.
http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/citizen.asp
Now, if you really thing the president doesn't matter, why the argument?
I personally think the one we've had for almost eight years has made a difference. - awasson, on 10/08/2008, -1/+5@keymanjim3 buried for being an idiot
