- psilly, on 06/16/2009, -4/+103Kucinich said. “Pretty soon that is going to be about the only thing made in America – war.”
- solboldi, on 06/16/2009, -7/+86Didn't Obama campaign as the anti-war candidate?
- JoeParanoid, on 06/16/2009, -7/+67Thank you, Dennis, for standing up to your own party as well. Every day we are flushing millions of dollars, human lives and our reputation down the toilet for George Bush's wars.
- inactive, on 06/16/2009, -13/+72Of course this will all be blamed on Bush despite the fact that Democrats were just as gung ho about this war as the Republicans.
Continuing this war is just that same as starting it in my book. Iraq is not a threat to our national security, keeping our troops over there is nothing more than imperialism in the guise of spreading Democracy.
People: WAKE THE ***** UP. Both parties are pro-war, pro-authoritarianism, pro-rich people regardless of their actual intentions. - inactive, on 06/16/2009, -7/+55According to his flock, yes. Based on his past policies and voting record, he is without a doubt pro-war.
- kemp34, on 06/16/2009, -2/+40The sad thing is, these wars are getting awfully close to the point of being the Bush-Obama wars. Democrats have held the legislative majority for three years and I see NO changes in foreign policy as it relates to our war and global standing military.
These entities are HUGE drains on the total wealth of the American People, and they continue under the so-called "anti-war" Obama and the LARGE Democrat majority... - tillerman00, on 06/17/2009, -2/+37It's hard to feel sorry for this country when given two opportunities to elect Kucinich as President and him barely mustering 1% of the votes.
Yes we . . . can? - inactive, on 06/17/2009, -1/+35my favorite Democrat
- BullBearMS, on 06/17/2009, -2/+29George Bush isn't the one refusing to end the war. After campaigning in both 2006 and 2008 on promises to end the war, the blame now falls solely on the Democrats for not living up to their word.
- cubicledrone, on 06/17/2009, -1/+27If Congress really wanted to stop a war, they can do it instantly and cannot be overruled. It is just amazing how many people have no idea how the U.S. Government works or why.
- TheSkunkMonkey, on 06/17/2009, -0/+24Excuse me, but can someone tell me when Congress declared war? After all, the Constitution says that only Congress can declare war. Why are people going around saying war on this war on that when no war has been declared?
I guess they are just desensitizing us. - ThaATrain, on 06/17/2009, -2/+23Obama announced that all U.S. combat brigades will be removed from Iraq by August 2010, but he still intends to leave as many as 50,000 troops in Iraq and wishes to expand the war in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
- dreamtiger, on 06/17/2009, -2/+19I have high hopes for Obama, but I'm with Kucinich on this one.
- Bologner, on 06/17/2009, -1/+17Oligarchy at it's finest.
- Bologner, on 06/17/2009, -2/+16Show me proof that it made America safer.
- DankBuddz, on 06/17/2009, -1/+14Took the words right out of my mouth.
This is why I don't consider myself a Democrat. I'm tired of criticizing ***** Republican policies while I can't ethically defend some of the things the Dems have done since January. Don't get me wrong, I agree with some of what Obama has done so far with some environmental things and social issues, but I can't align myself with a party that wants to dump another 106 Billion dollars into *****.
I'm ***** sick of seeing Americans shipped home in bags for no good reason, and I'm sick of seeing "Oops, sorry we bombed civilians, we'll try and do better next time". *****. - methdwman3, on 06/17/2009, -4/+16One cannot fight a war without.. MONEY. Guess who has had control of the money since 2006? You guessed it - Democrats! If Obama wants to pull the troops out, do it, otherwise stop blaming it on Bush. The "he started it" argument is quite juvenile.
- jmferris, on 06/17/2009, -1/+12Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner.
Everyone is always fast to push blame to the authorative figurehead, neglecting to understand how our system of government really does work. The legislative majority is just as culpable as any single person would be, if not more.
That applies to more than just the current wars, as well. When did the economic crisis begin? Correct. Just around three years ago. - DebbieKat, on 06/17/2009, -1/+11Kucinich was against the bailouts. He voted for the stimulus package. There is a difference.
- KirbyMeister, on 06/17/2009, -2/+11They're trying to extend the war -past- Bush's withdrawl plans as far as I know.
- Puffball, on 06/17/2009, -0/+9Except a way to get elected in the senate.
- DebbieKat, on 06/17/2009, -0/+9Oh BS! What about Kucinich, Gravel, McKinney, Nader, Ron Paul? They actively campaigned as anti-war. ANTI. Completely. Obama was never an anti-war candidate. Sorry.
- angryfirelord, on 06/17/2009, -0/+9They passed two resolutions, but yes, no official declaration was laid out.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_Resolution - rv361162, on 06/17/2009, -3/+12Get out of here, government paid shill.
Nice distracting name, kevinroseisadik. Did the NSA dis-info department actually pay you to make that up, or is there a random douche-bag name generator that created it for you? - TheInformer, on 06/17/2009, -3/+12Obama hasn't made a statement yet that didn't have an expiration date on it.
- Bologner, on 06/17/2009, -7/+15Kucinich, get out of the party. There's nothing there for you.
- Arcueid01, on 06/17/2009, -12/+20Plain and simple Obama is and will continue to be a ***** President.
- Ebacherville, on 06/17/2009, -2/+10thats like saying if I'm a alcoholic, that if i stop drinking Im just hurting all the people working in the brewing and distilling industry..
Or if I have a wood tick sucking my blood i should keep it there and not take it off and kill it.. - BotchaMcCoola, on 06/17/2009, -2/+10They fear being called "unpatriotic" but ironically the support of the MIC is just as unpatriotic now as it was with Korea and Vietnam. If we don't shut these greedy bastards down they will hand this place over to the Chinese and Arabs eventually.
- guntario, on 06/17/2009, -2/+9You're right borez. In fact, let's just have our government just build a bunch of ships, then sink em right off our coast using explosives that we build. Think of how good that economic policy is! Then we could hire salvage people, and recycle all the metal! Wow, I'm a genius!
- Wag3Slav3, on 06/17/2009, -3/+10Yeah, none of the jobs that make the bombs could be moved into the health care industry or rebuilding our infrastructure or creating a smart power grid or building a 1000 square mile mirror on hot wire solar array in death valley.
All those people can ever be trained to do is make bombs and guns. - rmxz, on 06/17/2009, -0/+7Would you prefer they called it a peacekeeping mission?
- TexanRudeBoy, on 06/17/2009, -0/+7"He's probably right that Congress should have a more active role in the war."
Congress and congress alone has the power to declare war. They should have the MOST active role. But hey, since when did the constitution limit the federal government? - HolemCross, on 06/17/2009, -0/+7One of my favorite human beings.
- JBizness, on 06/18/2009, -0/+7For such a small dude, Kucinich has some pretty big balls.
- manlyandy, on 06/17/2009, -1/+8Past mission accomplished in 2003? Or past the predicted 6 months the war was going to take initially?
- z0rk, on 06/17/2009, -1/+8Which happens to be exactly the same thing Bush signed into an agreement with Iraq before Obama took office.
- Bologner, on 06/17/2009, -1/+7Before 9-11, there was not a SINGLE attack on U.S. soil by an Islamic extremist for 3119 days, or 8 years, 6 months, 16 days.
BTW, what do you call all the attacks on soldiers SINCE 9-11? Somehow those AREN'T terrorist attacks anymore? - twiztidsinz, on 06/17/2009, -3/+9Obama was for finishing up in Iraq and going to Afghanistan (You remember that place... where we went after 9/11 for the terrorists before Bush said "NO NO NO! Wait! They're in IRAQ!"). Shortly after, McCain would say "My friends, I agree with Senator Obama".
- Wag3Slav3, on 06/17/2009, -1/+7So just give up and keep building bombs. I guess we're all *****.
- VitriolAndAngst, on 06/17/2009, -0/+6And go where exactly?
Maybe we need to just replace the DINO's with people that are responsive.
More Howard Deans, Kucinich's, Feingold's and pretty soon, we've got ourselves a party. - RichT711, on 06/17/2009, -4/+9And $1 trillion and all we go were a bunch of bankrupt auto companies a doubling in unemployment and mass inflation. $100 billion to kill Saddam and bring elections to Iraq seems like a bargain.
- kemp34, on 06/17/2009, -2/+7Yeah spending a bunch of money on ***** that explodes is great economic policy!!
/stupid - inactive, on 06/25/2009, -0/+5Gotta throw Kucinich a bone for this. Yes I'm a Ron Paul supporter.
- SeligErasmus, on 06/17/2009, -0/+5@rv361162
Eh, cut him some slack - he's just a 16 year old kid. Highschoolers aren't really known for their deep subtle wit or profound political insight. - lazn, on 06/17/2009, -0/+5Didn't Obama promise to include War Funding in his budget? Did he change his mind?
- Wag3Slav3, on 06/17/2009, -1/+6guntario: You heard of the bridges in Iraq that we bombed, rebuilt, bombed, then rebuilt again, bombed... I think the cycle went around like 6 times or something.
Cheney's KBR made millions. - dissolutionman, on 06/18/2009, -0/+5He's a federal official, *****. It's not his job to manage Cleveland, just represent its interests in the House of Representatives.
Try electing better local officials and quit bitching. - Wag3Slav3, on 06/18/2009, -0/+5DerangedPenguin: Ok, lets just do nothing and keep up the stupid waste that has no positive return whatsoever just so I don't have to compete with Dick Cheney's nephew for a job on monster.com.
- relay2005, on 06/17/2009, -0/+5Just goes to show you that both parties don't have a clue on where we are going. Why do we keep thinking that the people in the Houses know what they are doing?
