- m0d3s7m1k3, on 11/13/2007, -20/+365Ron Paul won me over with this. Think for yourself instead of relying on the government to come tuck you in at night.
- Battleloser, on 11/13/2007, -34/+297The problem here is that when you start throwing around insults, people become defensive to your otherwise valid points.
Do you think that dude went home thinking about the point Paul was trying to make, or is it more likely he went home thinking Paul was an *****? - has2k1, on 11/05/2007, -5/+198That was in 1988 on Morton Downey Jrs' show. I would love to see what that guy looks like now.
- iceman0113, on 11/05/2007, -11/+182Ron Paul is and was right, if you legalize drugs then the problem more or less goes away. The drug dealers no longer have to protect their turfs because drugs are legal and cops will be able to focus on more important issues than drugs. By making drugs illegal, drug dealers have a reason to start turf wars where people are hurt. The first lady that spoke, apparently never took an econ class or has much common sense. Also, our jails would be less crowded, tax money would actually be diverted to build a better society as well.
- inactive, on 11/13/2007, -8/+151"The War on Fatties" coming soon to a law enforcement agency near you
- UtahApocalyse, on 11/05/2007, -8/+129This is still Dr. Paul's belief. To think a politition who hasn't changed his opinion over 20 years. Now thats consistency.
- inactive, on 11/05/2007, -10/+131In 1988 some spoke out against obesity. In 2007 we are silent as we feel sorry for ourselves as do half of our overweight neighbors.
Today junk food is cheaper than fruits and vegetables. - inactive, on 10/16/2007, -4/+121Chill out people. Ron barely insulted him, he used the kid's own BS back on him. He merely said that if he thinks Government should mandate what it thinks is right, then they should put him on a diet, because he's a little overweight. And he's clearly a *little* overweight. That's hardly name calling, it's an observation. He pointed out the kid's hypocrisy, and at least we know that Ron Paul isn't a politically correct baby like most politicians. And cmon, it was funny...
- inactive, on 11/13/2007, -6/+117The irony is, Paul is right. It wasn't an insult, it was an indication. What if the Gov't tried to criminalize you for eating at McDonald's too much? Same thing. This guy's diet is waaaay worse for him than most drug use by far.
Americans who believe that criminalizing everybody is the answer, are idiots.
Fatty is probably a cop by now. - asimo8, on 11/05/2007, -4/+113Links to the complete show:

Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waesMWjaqnU - inactive, on 10/16/2007, -4/+80LOL Ron Paul just made my day and im a Canadian!
I dont really believe in everything Ron Paul says, however, he has a plan and isnt afraid to defend his positions. He didnt give the usual political wash that we see on television these days, he served his beliefs with conviction and without hesitation. - NikoKun, on 10/16/2007, -2/+77Yeah, how can anyone think that the use of the criminal justice system, or military, for the purpose of public health, is anything but a horrible idea?
The war on drugs has been lost since it started... just end it already! it's doing nothing but harm... - inactive, on 10/16/2007, -5/+79For everyone complaining that Ron Paul was being "mean", if you watched the entire segment from that show, (3 parts found on youtube) the audience was being RIDICULOUSLY ***** rude. They all laughed when Morton said Ron was running for presidency, and yelled and howled like a bunch of fascist apes. Some annoying super fascist bitch kept interrupting him, comparing murder to legalizing weed.
And the host seems to think that free choice is comparable to mass murder. - papashawn, on 10/11/2007, -4/+74I rather like the notion of Marines busting down someone's door to seize their donuts.
- ljw5021, on 10/16/2007, -10/+70I'm not going to lie, Ron Paul is the man.
- NikoKun, on 11/13/2007, -0/+58wow... that 3rd part is nuts (clicked it first) there is a woman in there that actually says "I'm tired of all you legalize people hiding behind the constitution!" Gee... I wonder why we have the constitution... oh duh... to protect us from nuts like you! XD Those people really do want to bring back alcohol prohibition... and that is just as much a violation of our constitutional right as Cannabis prohibition... =p
- Sep11insidejob, on 10/11/2007, -6/+62The drug war will never end because the CIA is making a killing. People wake the ***** up
- andrewmi, on 11/13/2007, -17/+71He won you over by calling some kid fat in 1988? If you paid much attention to Ron Paul you'd have already known he doesn't believe in government control.
- Xevec, on 10/11/2007, -4/+53People, everyone should seriously watch the ENTIRE video of this. The second post on this gives the entire thing. Just watching the 1st part is hard for me. My god, some of the people on this show amaze me. They are worst than Hannity or even Limbaugh. At least those guys can make some sense in their statements. Some of these people make NO ***** sense at all. For example, around 7:30 on the 1st video, a woman comes in and says:
"Ron paul, you speak of freedoms....well, the only thing you can be president of is disneyland, because you are in another world."
WOW! Just....wow! I don't know what to say about that comment. I would believe hannity and Limbaugh(if they had dignity) would jump all over this woman and call her a ***** moron because that statement didn't make any ***** sense! WTF?! It hurts, but please people, it fascinates me to see libertarian haters back from 1988. Look at how we thought back then(conservatives at least...these are the guys that voted in bush sr....the same man who created the ADA). - swiftekho, on 10/11/2007, -11/+58I think this is him
http://www.bobbyworks.com/images/fat%20man%20at%20computer.jpg - WaterDragon, on 10/11/2007, -2/+46There is a chance that he went home considering that maybe one man's constant overeating habit is like another man's recreational drug habit.
It was a good analogy. it is only the reaction of the immature people in the audience that made it appear like some kind of insult.
Naturally, the ignorant masses who attend the Morton Downey show would bring everything down to the lowest common denominator...ego position. - Ezekiel25:17, on 10/11/2007, -4/+45He had me at hello.
- sickleye, on 11/13/2007, -4/+38@Battloser
You can tell the fatty was too entrenched in his own ideas to listen. And on top of that he interrupted Ron Paul first. dugg up anyway for a good point. - Marijuana, on 10/11/2007, -11/+44Fatty needs to roll a fatty and chill. I lol'd when Ron Paul stuck it to him.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+34If you can sue McDees for making you fat, People who watch FOX news should sue Rupert Murdoch for making them stupid.
- toxicvarn90, on 11/13/2007, -3/+35God this show gave me a headache! It's like a bunch of Bill OReilly clones *****. No logical argument, just childish shouting.
- Flashman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+31"Do you think that dude went home thinking about the point Paul was trying to make, or is it more likely he went home thinking Paul was an *****?"
I think he went home and ate a cake. - MiDri, on 10/11/2007, -0/+31Well that is because corn syrup is dirt cheap... they practically give it away.... They have to, that ***** will kill you!
- cactus476, on 11/13/2007, -0/+31Damn there are too many stupid people out there.
- Demonmonger, on 10/11/2007, -1/+28We need a War on Twinkies to end Obesity.
- Xevec, on 10/11/2007, -0/+26dark, it really amazes me that these people can think like this. Comparing Murder to Weed? I wonder if most people thought like this back then. I would love to know how majority of americans thought about the war on drugs back during reagan's era.
- bruenig, on 11/13/2007, -3/+29It's like more extreme version of FOX News.
- sickleye, on 10/11/2007, -4/+29Gotta praise the mans patience. Both horton and the 'tard yelled and interrupted Ron on a regular basis. He stuck to his guns though.
- designbydave, on 10/11/2007, -0/+25it's not to hard to imagine. The war on Fat is really becoming the new 'war' NYC banned trans fats on city restaurants, people are suing McDonalds because they are fat, etc...
- BESTenemy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+25That is one quality that sets him apart from all the other candidates - consistent voting record. No swinging back and forth each time polls change. He has an opinion of his own and he sticks to his guns. Also, he an excellent speaker. He is the kind of man I want to be representing our country on international arena. Look at Bush - even our own people can't take him seriously.
- azzageddi, on 10/11/2007, -2/+25While he may not have won over fatboy slim, I bet he won over just about everyone else in the audience.
- Curiousity, on 10/11/2007, -0/+23By America's standards, no. By the world's standards he was pretty big.
- 726f6e7061756c, on 10/11/2007, -0/+23"You need to make the use of addictive drugs a death penalty offense, and legalize the non harmful drugs. "
kill someone for using drugs?
wth are u smoking? - sinbot, on 10/11/2007, -1/+24We already have government intervention in our diets. It's why high-fructose corn-syrup gets used instead of sugar.
- Xevec, on 10/11/2007, -2/+24First off, note people this was almost 20 years ago. Yes, I realize that he shouldn't have done a PERSONAL attack upon that person. But Ron Paul I notice has gotten better against attacks on his views. Does anyone remember the battle between him and Hannity? Ron Paul looked very upset. But he managed to calm down and be more rational. Maybe because he learned from his lesson from 20 years ago(he looks so much younger).
What Ron Paul should've said is "why not make a war against obesity?"
This guy had a "conservative" base..which is funny, because Ron Paul is a conservative as well. What I find amusing is the arguments that morton Downey does is the same ***** that I have heard "liberals" use against me personally when I argue for libertarianism. Nowadays, freedom is becoming more popular...and you don't hear these arguments as often as what you hear from robert downey. I have not seen "true" democrats and republicans wanting more government intervention(at least, in the rhetoric). - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+23I dunno. What's gonna do me more harm... smoking pot once a week, or being obese? If anything it's an equal amount of harm I'm doing to myself. Yet one is my right and the other we spend billions of dollars a year trying to stop me from doing. It just doesn't make much sense. It was a very strong thing to say in a debate. ***** remark too perhaps, but difficult to argue with.
- jeff419, on 10/11/2007, -0/+21Govt. intervention, namely subsidies for corn, is part of the reason that high frutcose corn syrup is in EVERYTHING.
I personally do everything I can to avoid that poison. I basically have to cook everything from scratch to do it, because it is so prevalent in food today.
What you have to realize is it's done on purpose. The people who actually make these decisions want people to be fat and lazy, it makes them much easier to control. - cactus476, on 11/13/2007, -0/+21Boy do I want to punch that host in the mouth.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -9/+30He's got a Snickers in one hand and a Butterfinger in the other - after he takes his third hit off the bong.
- tastypastry, on 11/13/2007, -0/+19They don't end the war on drugs because there is money to be made. Just like the war in Iraq. War is good for business.
- THX1979, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18Who would want to be tucked in at night by a serial rapist, anyway?
- Dayyve, on 10/11/2007, -11/+28Haha! Awesome! Damn this guy is growing on me, I wish he would quit the Republican party so he would have a chance. As it stands both guys I want (Obama and Paul) won't have a chance in hell in their respective parties of getting the presidential nomination. I hate this country...the only problem is.....where can you move nowadays where there aren't any problems :(
- MrLunar, on 10/11/2007, -3/+20Thanks man, that's just what I need at 9am in the morning...
- chris35535, on 10/11/2007, -0/+17it wasn't a personal attack he was simply using the example of government controling what we eat to keep us healthy to point out the absurdity of government controlling what drugs we do/don't take to keep us healthy
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+20Holy ***** *****. Watch the FULL version of this entire episode, and you VERY quickly realize that Morton is a fascist of epic proportions, he actually told ron paul that he was VOMIT in his face if he was the president SIMPLY BECAUSE HE WANTED FREE PERSONAL CHOICE over government forcing you to do things. WHAT THE *****!?!?!?!? Holy *****....an audience full of fascist sheep led by their ultra fascist host. If I was Ron Paul I would have done more than call that kid a fatty, I would have beaten the ***** out of him.
