- Gazerock, on 03/18/2008, -9/+132Hey thanks for posting my video on Digg. I also submitted (and got to the videos front page when Video and Digg was seperated) my original, which I did last year. Basically it's the same porn with the same characters but different film, for history class on the war on vietnam. It was my first film project. And when, this year, I had to do the War on Terror for Politics class, I figured I'd pay homage to my first experiment with editing software, and make a sequel but remix it up a bit. Anyway, here's the original:

'Next project: Using a current porno to make an Iraq video project."
bit off on the modern porn though.
On another note: I thoroughly enjoyed it. Very classy :D - mille716, on 03/18/2008, -3/+30You're a ***** genius kid. Great video. I just wonder if you'd do this video again in a feminists studies class?
- xTRUMANx, on 03/18/2008, -1/+12Yeah, I remember your earlier work. I wish you submitted this to digg yourself though, feels like I'm stealing your submission.
- dukeeeey, on 03/18/2008, -10/+5you want to learn how to deinterlace your videos
- IIAmusedII, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2Exactly what I was thinking. Great script & great idea, but, damn, what sucky deinterlacing.
- JettaMan, on 03/18/2008, -22/+1This video uses clips from MSNBC and other stations. I thought it was supposed to be all porn clips. Flagged as inaccurate.
- twertyto, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3No where does it say it uses all porn clips.
- Frnnkdlxx, on 03/18/2008, -1/+3I wish someone would Bukkakke you....
- borez, on 03/18/2008, -9/+4I for one welcome our new junior fact based video editing genius overlords
- nandasunu, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2just stop.
- nycmac247, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2great job - thanks for the morning boost
- buddypriefert, on 03/18/2008, -11/+0Kids = subjective to the tools of the liberal teachers. Win brownie points for bashing America. Extra points if you can squeeze in anti-Bush, anit-Christian themes. Remember, America was the bad guys in WW2.
- stinkypyper, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1"Richard Pachecho"
That last name sounds like every pork-chop around where I live. Are you from Brampton? - sporg, on 03/18/2008, -9/+1This video is crap. The editing is poor the audio is harsh and irritating.
- Sassanix, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1Made me laugh, very creative use of the content, although it was a remix of most of the documentaries I've seen. 10/10
karet doroste ;)- Gazerock, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1Mersi hamvatan :)
- Frnnkdlxx, on 03/18/2008, -0/+39/11 was an inside blow job!
- devonkeale, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1Great video man, but yeah, deinterlace and you will get rid of all the horrible jaggies - it will improve the video quality a lot.

- Sheff, on 03/18/2008, -4/+31Good Job.
As informative and creative as this is, I'm disappointed that an American student didn't produce this. I'm not sure just how many American kids can see beyond what MSM feeds them or if any of them have access to editing software to produce this. I'm sure an American kid would have gotten in trouble for using parts of a porn movie even though it wasn't the dirty parts, and the message would have been ignored.
The only criticism I have is I would have preferred if you faded the text in and out. It's jarring when it changes abruptly and is in the same position in the frame, while you're still reading it. Either that or move the text to a different position in the frame when it changes. I had to stop/rewind the video to completely read the captions.- ManOfVirtues, on 03/18/2008, -1/+5but I can promise they are going to see it. This is how we get the idiots to pay attention long enough to get our point across, dub it over porn.
- aliengoods, on 03/18/2008, -0/+12If you're going to dub it to porn, I recommend putting the important audio in the first couple of minutes. Trust me.

- Transporter7220, on 03/18/2008, -2/+6Anyone know what the song is during the first montage?
- Gazerock, on 03/18/2008, -0/+21Music used:
Intro: Damian Marley - Still Searching
9/11: Dir en grey - Macabre
Iran: Pink Floyd - The Trial
Iraq: Pink Floyd - Summer '68 (when the girl is undressing)
Liberty: Damian Marley - Road to Zion
Outro (same as intro).

- MrFriend, on 03/18/2008, -5/+6You are a good man. Keep it up.
- MrFriend, on 03/18/2008, -2/+5You are a good man. The cutting between genres was a great jarring challenge to normal linear, grouped-up perception, same way the content challenged the conventional (formerly anyway) political wisdom. Main thing, though, is it's funny. The lipsynced porn made it fun to hear a sober horrible truth. (Is that good?)
- daiguitar, on 03/18/2008, -2/+5So....Where's the (dirty) version?
- Gazerock, on 03/18/2008, -0/+6MyFreePaysite -> Extreme Feeds -> Talk Dirty To Me
I think it's scene two of the first video.
Knock yourself out.- slowmotiony, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3Thanks for reminding me of this movie, I used to watch that guy over and over again hoping i could copy his social skills. Incredible actor.
- Gazerock, on 03/18/2008, -0/+6MyFreePaysite -> Extreme Feeds -> Talk Dirty To Me
- semeticstallion, on 03/18/2008, -3/+51Holy *****! The opening scenes are from "Vista Valley PTA," the very first porn I ever saw stashed underneath my dad's bed that he clearly had taped off of a hotel pay-per-vue service. Dugg for nostalgic loss of innocence!
- Gazerock, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2I don't think it's the same pr0n o_o;
- semeticstallion, on 03/18/2008, -0/+6The short clip of the blonde driving the station wagon with the sunglasses is undoubtedly "Vista Valley PTA."
- DefaultGen, on 03/20/2008, -0/+1Debate over 80s porn movies FTW.

- Sean42, on 03/18/2008, -1/+8Too much information.

Lollers.

- Gazerock, on 03/18/2008, -3/+33My friend and I, both into film and editing (I'm the filmmaker of this video, ftr), are collaborating on our English project due in the next two weeks.
It's an analysis of the book "Brave New World" by Alduos Huxley, which, if you haven't read it, is basically about an Orwellian utopian society. In ONE part of the video, we're going to, in practice, compare the totalitarian society of BNW with our own. We'll do this by him filming me going to the library (probably a few libraries, and thankfully we don't have the 'patriot act' up here), we're going to look for the following books:
* Communist Manifesto
* Anarchist's Cookbook (bomb-making guide and more)
* The Qu'ran
* State and Revolution by Lenin
* A fully automatic rifle manual
From afar, he'll then film the whole encounter as I rent the aforementioned literature and the expression on the face of the clerk, and anything else that should later happen. The reason for this is that in the book, the populous is very conditioned into accepting what is set out as the norms for society with hypnopaedia and control of the media. So, we're going to try and break some social constructs, hope for a priceless reaction that we can catch on film, and compare the conditioning of humankind here and in the fictional book.
If you're interested, please befriend/subscribe to my account and I'll post it when we're finished..
I just hope this gag doesn't land me a free trip to gitmo..- nitsnipe, on 03/18/2008, -1/+10Ummm, librarians often act indifferent to the books that you take. I'd suggest maybe reading these books on the subway, and have a friend secretly tape the other peoples reaction( this IS legal by the way).
Or maybe to get some sort of reaction you can ask a librarian to help you find the book and if possible to describe the book to you.
If none of these work and you start getting desperate then you could resort to just asking random people on the street questions of the books( like have they read it , did they like it etc...) But make sure you borrow a big camera and you look like a news reporter.
And, well, it's Canada anyways, people are quite tolerant here. The Toronto District School Board is even cool with teachers showing their student V for Vendetta in class.- Gazerock, on 03/18/2008, -0/+10Well we've figured, but let me provide to you some context:
I don't live in Toronto, actually I live on the outskirts, in upper-middle class suburban town of Richmond Hill, the paradigm of ignorance where soccer moms are a minutely sighting at a major intersection. We're also to do this at several libraries, and when I do it, I plan do this with a plenty serious face. Also, I myself am Iranian - well if you want to get picky, half Persian, half Russian/Armenian/Bulgarian - but I definitely look the part of being middle eastern. I have a long jacket I frequently wear which I'll be using for this as well. Add all this up and hopefully I'll have one scared clerk on the other end of the table.- TritonX, on 03/18/2008, -0/+4You should start taking notice of white econoline, just saying.
PS. I would mind making the translation in french it, if you are interested contact me.

- Gazerock, on 03/18/2008, -0/+10Well we've figured, but let me provide to you some context:
- Arcesius, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2To echo a reply of your first post - you are a genius, my friend! Definitely befriended =).
I want to know how this stuff of yours turns out, btw. - jimT, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2I hope you're aware that Aldous Huxley wrote a second book: BNW REVISITED where he actually shows how the society we live in has actually become like the Utopian world described in BNW. Reference: http://www.amazon.ca/Brave-World-Revisited-Aldous- ...
I'm happy to known that this creativity comes from Canada :-)
- nitsnipe, on 03/18/2008, -1/+10Ummm, librarians often act indifferent to the books that you take. I'd suggest maybe reading these books on the subway, and have a friend secretly tape the other peoples reaction( this IS legal by the way).
- macwac, on 03/18/2008, -1/+4I liked it. Great use of videos - hope you get an A+
- dwninjungleland, on 03/18/2008, -1/+2An awesome idea. How did the kids in your class take it? Was this for a college class or high school class? Very impressive
- Estaris, on 03/20/2008, -0/+1I had no idea that 3 million marched in Rome against the war and against Bush. I guess I'm still naive enough to think that it would have made more of a splash in our media. Frightening it didn't even make a burp.
- nitsnipe, on 03/18/2008, -10/+2There's no big deal that it is made from a porn movie. Like come-on, if you are a male over 13 and you have never watched porn then something is wrong with you.
Great video though. - mattewood, on 03/18/2008, -1/+2Lol Fantastic!
A+ for sure. - turdblossom1, on 03/18/2008, -2/+1daddy likes
- ecape7, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1Smartest video ive seen really creative
- Dropperbr, on 03/18/2008, -1/+2Very entertaining!
A+? - Gazerock, on 03/18/2008, -1/+3Thanks for the comments guys! But what's with the algorithm.. 159 diggs, #1 upcoming videos, #2 upcoming in All, and still not promoted o_o?
- xTRUMANx, on 03/18/2008, -2/+5It finally hit. I was watching too all day. I finally got one story front page. YAY. I dedicate this story to you Gazerock.
- mvanhorn, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3LOL for "Awesome: Arman Noory" in the credits
- orlyfactor, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1Thought it said "corn" at first. It must be lunchtime!
- deeboe, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1Either that or you do some interesting things with corncobs.
- Omniac, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1Do this with a box office hit from last summer, label it as a sequel, and you got yourself an informed public.
- StusGhost, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3I actually listened to your point of view, and watched the whole video, because of the creativeness of dubbing over the porn stars, even though some of you're points enraged me.
Good lesson. - tarazz, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2now this is what i call a spark of creativity, A+!!!
- invisiblehat, on 03/18/2008, -0/+22To Gazerock... I think what you are doing is Awesome! I am a Librarian in SW Florida, and I LOVE when people asks for material like this. I always smile and go out of my way to get it for them, and encourage them to keep reading subversive material. I usually recommend further works for them to check out.
The Library I am currently at has all of these books except for the Anarchist Cookbook, which always gets stolen.
If the Library you go to doesn't have those books, they can get them. All Libraries can borrow books from any other Library in the U.S. thru World Cat.
You would be surprised. Most young Librarians have a very punk rock mentality and believe in freedom of information. We have strongly lobbied AGAINST the Patriot Act. We are on Your side.
At both Libraries I have worked at we DON'T keep track of what people read. Once an item is returned, it is automatically removed from a patron's record.
We will adamantly refuse to EVER show a law enforcement officer a patron's record without complete warrants. We fight them whenever we can and make it as difficult as possible for them to pry into your private life.
We are on Your side!- sublimemtb, on 03/18/2008, -4/+1wow, who thoguht there was a librarian lobby... the only librarians i've ever seen are old fat women.
- nbcaffeine, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1They lobby for more cats and new cards for their catalog
- sublimemtb, on 03/18/2008, -4/+1wow, who thoguht there was a librarian lobby... the only librarians i've ever seen are old fat women.
- Hizzout, on 03/18/2008, -0/+5I haven't logged in on Digg in ages but I had to just to comment on this video. It is done brilliantly. The music, the imagery, although taken from other documentaries are put together well in this piece. By using a porn film, I feel that it is also pointing out one of the biggest hypocrisies in American media....that it's okay to show violence, death, destruction, and killing on TV/movies but the world might just come to an end if the naked body is shown on screen.
The bits of humor in it are also great.
Again, great work. I've sent the link to many other people to watch. - froston, on 03/18/2008, -0/+5"I'll Show you good brain" Best ending line ever.
- raz98, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3Pink Floyd !
- USSSH2855, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1This kind of power can cause some people's to miss the point.
- dougerdo, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1Beautiful job. Nice choice in music as well. Did you use Adobe Premier Pro?
- Bolko, on 03/18/2008, -7/+1too long; didn't watch

- borez, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1I wish I'd had that level of technology to play with when I was doing my school projects 15yrs ago, it would've been so much more interesting the reading those god awful boring textbooks we were given and then basically had to copy word for word.
I still shudder at the thought... - 55mph, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2Loved it!!
- eanbowman, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1hah... he actually did a pretty decent job too. Nice.
- Stuchus, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3Dugg for Damian Marley...oh and the film.
- jackieokennedy, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2so cute to read that "asking for the communist manifesto" is subversive .....
- ejhdigdug, on 03/18/2008, -1/+1There's so many copyright infringements that this could only be made by a student. It's too bad, it's a nice film.
- BESTenemy, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1A film I would recommend on the subject is "The History Of Oil" by Robert Newman. Google it. Was featured on digg at least twice before. Covers all the same subjects backed by references.
- PolishLogic, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2Dugg for 80's porn
- malex, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3"You can imagine where it goes from here."

- cobbwobbles, on 03/18/2008, -0/+0Really loved it, you guys are clever, funny, and most of all, using logic to construct your paradigms. I'm a fan.
- salamibreath, on 03/18/2008, -5/+1Yay!
Using slogans and cliches to fight slogans and cliches.
Dugg down for boring.- malex, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3"Slogans and cliches?" So I guess you didn't actually watch the video. That's a shame.
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him think.
- malex, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3"Slogans and cliches?" So I guess you didn't actually watch the video. That's a shame.
- Infowarmachine, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1pure genius
- emptyo, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1If I could "super Digg" something, I would have. Great, great job.
- Owwmykneecap, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1Very nice work.
(I know, not a funny or thought provoking comment, but still, honest.) - StacyWebb, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1Assuming this is for a High School Project I commend you on your activism. You took two things that we in America love Porn and Explosions and mired them into a political statement. Very well done.
An additional point for using "The Trial" from Pink Floyd's The Wall. - AGONYTUESDAY, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1that is absolutely fantastic! he better have gotten an A
- milo42, on 03/18/2008, -0/+0Awesome, great idea and well implemented, LMAO
- darladoon, on 03/18/2008, -0/+0i love how he picks her up at the Castro theater in San Francisco.
not a whole lot of guys picking up gals down there..... - Banelos, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1Great job on the video Gazerock. Along the documentaries you used, I can highly recommend "War Made Easy" for an insight into the way media and governments has swayed public opinion on wars throughout the past 50 years.
- Jawoodyablowme, on 03/18/2008, -0/+5Good job, kid.
Don't let anyone, ever, make you think that your opinion is worthless. Ever!
You need some work... you'll develop that later. You're on the right track.
You seem to realize that the World revolves around propaganda. Very few folks actually spend the time to understand the issues. Fox news (Rupert Murdock made his fortune) off of this ideal and so has every other "news organization".
Watch me get dugg down for my views, mate, and take a lesson from it!- malex, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1I hope you're not implying that clever and persuasive use of imagery (which can be, but is not always, "propaganda") and objective, thoughtful consideration of the issues are mutually exclusive. The producer's appropriation of 80's porn may be gimmicky, but the video also addresses (albeit shallowly) the vast history of Western/Arabic issues that most Americans know nothing about.
- smek2, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2"My goal was to have a video in contrast to the one-dimensional views we are fed by the media on everything surrounding the war on terror, from the history of US intervention in the middle east to the economy and compromises to liberty" -- nice video. Neat idea too, to edit 80's porn videos.
- uptwolait, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1Great concept. I can't help but picture Bob & Doug McKenzie during the voiceovers though.
